Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 474: Chapter 60: Escape

The main purpose for Su Changxing buying this thing was for Jin to research, as this method should enhance her ability.

”Mmm hmm~”

She looked like she understood very well, took the rocket launcher, played with it for a while, then shouldered it as if ready to fire.

”It seems to have become much smaller.”

Su Changxing looked towards the sky, noticing that the rain suddenly lessened, becoming sparse, and as the rolling black fog faded, he could vaguely see the stars in the sky.

”A chemical reaction occurred?”

He was a bit puzzled, suspecting that the rain had diluted the black fog.

At this moment, it should be the best time for others to escape this city, as if the rain got heavier later, they might truly be trapped here.

Su Changxing made a post on the forum to remind these people that now was the best time to leave, even if they would be battered by the rain.

Subsequently, he notified Zhen Qi Yi to prepare to leave.

Over ten minutes later, everyone donned a steel pot on their heads as a rain hat, following Su Changxing out of this pitch-black city.

[Side Task (Escape): The sudden decrease in rain has given you an opportunity to leave, but many in the city are still trapped. As the strongest in this city, it’s your duty to shelter them to safety.

For every hundred people you help to safety, you will be rewarded with ten thousand points.]

The frequency of tasks increased, seemingly returning to the initial state... Su Changxing looked at the message popping up on his phone, turned his head, and said to Zhen Qi Yi:

”Contact others on the forum and tell them our escape route. If possible, they can join us on the way out.”

Zhen Qi Yi nodded in response: ”Okay, I’ll contact them on the forum... but this will slow down our escape speed.”

”It’s fine.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said:

”These people are considered elites among humans. If we can save them, we should. Encourage them to bring others as well... I reckon those left behind are most likely on a dead-end path.”

”Understood, Leader!”

Zhen Qi Yi’s eyes changed as he looked at Su Changxing. He suddenly realized that this leader who had survived through doomsday had a completely different mindset and level from him.

While he would only selfishly think about how to survive, Su Changxing considered the life and death of others.

This was beyond right or wrong, but he was deeply moved... If Leader Su were as selfish as him, he probably wouldn’t have survived the doomsday either.

He clearly knew that it was Su Changxing and others who went into the No-Man’s Land to blow up the energy station, or else many more people would have died.

In fact, Su Changxing didn’t think about it too much, it was entirely because of this suddenly popped-up task that led to a series of actions, allowing him to glean some critical information from the task.

For instance, the city would become more dangerous and the time when the rain stops won’t be long, which is also the last chance for others to escape.

Every task release must have an underlying logic, and the game system strictly adheres to this logic with a strong purpose.

”What’s wrong?”

Su Changxing saw Zhen Qi Yi had a strange expression and asked.

Zhen Qi Yi responded seriously: ”Nothing, I’ll contact others on the forum right away.”

Was my tone too serious... Su Changxing watched as Zhen Qi Yi walked away, a bit puzzled about why he reacted that way earlier.

Zhen Qi Yi organized the information told by Su Changxing and posted it on the forum, causing a huge response. Those gladiators still existed, and if they could be sheltered to escape, it was naturally a better choice.

Over ten minutes later.

A nearby player brought dozens towards them, also using objects on their heads to deflect the rain.

The leader was a middle-aged man with long hair and a gray hat, who walked up to Su Changxing and sincerely said:

”Thank you, Leader Su, for specially escorting us out of here.”

Su Changxing looked at him and remembered what Qin Decang had said before, and replied:

”Given the situation, it’s only right that we help each other. Just follow us, we won’t stop.”

As the rain lessened, the remaining gladiators moved more frequently, choosing to leave as well rather than fight.

Without the surveillance of the Black Fog World, they seemingly gained freedom as well.

After traveling a third of the journey, Su Changxing now led thousands, and as their momentum grew, even more people converged towards them.

Su Changxing calculated briefly and estimated that escorting all these people out would yield around three hundred thousand points, like free points, he barely did anything.

But is it really that simple?

Su Changxing didn’t believe it but continued on for a majority, reaching the city’s edge without mishap; only stumbling upon a few gladiators, which were dealt with by two shots.

Zhen Qi Yi excitedly said: ”Leader Su, we’re almost out.”

It seemed that once they were out, they would be safe.

Su Changxing nodded seriously, saying: ”Mm, stay alert, I don’t think it’s that simple.”

By now, they had over six thousand people with them, translating into six hundred thousand points.

Zhen Qi Yi also became serious, saying: ”Mm, I’ll make sure these people don’t act rashly at critical moments.”

Suddenly.

Jin tugged on Su Changxing’s clothes, pointing at the distant sky, saying: ”Something is coming over there.”

Su Changxing’s eyes flashed silver light as he looked in the direction Jin indicated; in the night, a massive creature gradually approached their side.

It’s very vague, seemingly distant but visible.

It appeared to be moving forward, yet also not, like the moon in the sky, making it hard to gauge its exact position.

”What is that?” someone shouted.

Many people turned to look that way.

At that moment.

The massive creature’s form suddenly became clearer, accelerating towards their location, growing larger.

Could it be... Su Changxing seemed to understand what it was, shouting: ”Everyone ignore it, and do not look in that direction; we need to speed up.”

Even though he said so, someone secretly glanced that way, seemingly extremely curious about it.

Su Changxing frowned slightly, took out his phone, and messaged everyone in the group:

(No one is allowed to look in that direction; it will cause greater danger. Take the strictest measures, and if necessary, it can be dealt with by execution.)

He surmised that this thing was some terrifying entity; gaining more attention made its presence stronger as it shifted from vague to clear.

Yet, the situation was spiraling out of control, many people seemed enchanted, staring fixatedly in that direction, wanting to see what it was.

”Bang bang~”

Gunshots came from not far away.

A managing player shot dead someone who failed to heed the advice, and those around awoke as if from a dream.
