Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 482: Chapter 68: Rabbits

”Sprinkle some salt, it should be edible, but it’s better not to,” Su Changxing said, catching a whiff of the enticing aroma in the air.

This scent seems to have a special allure, or perhaps it possesses some sort of magic power.

After a pause, he affirmed, ”This thing shouldn’t be eaten; it has a strong toxicity.”

The rabbits are wild animals from some world, but their average strength is at Tier Nine, and their numbers aren’t few, making them quite troublesome.

Jin took the chocolate cake that Su Changxing handed over, took a big bite, chewed while pointing ahead, and said:

”That should be the rabbit nest, right~”

Su Changxing looked in the direction Jin indicated and saw the walls around a large building broken open, piled with a lot of dry grass and twigs inside, while many rabbits were pouring out from within.

”Are these rabbits making a nest?”

He was momentarily stunned, then realized that some of these creatures were Order beings, and it wasn’t a big deal that they made nests and reproduced.

The reproductive ability of these rabbits might be too strong... He realized the red-eyed big rabbits must be dealt with, otherwise, their numbers could increase at a terrifying rate over time.

Rabbits give birth in litters, and these individual rabbits are very strong.

Creatures like this might not be significant in their own world, but to Su Changxing’s world, they’re absolutely a dimension-reducing strike.

”You go blow up their nest, I’ll provide cover,” Su Changxing signaled.

Jin nodded, dashed forward, made a hand gesture like a pistol, and ”fired” continuously at the distant rabbits. The shooting frequency reached an exaggerated level, with over ten explosions occurring in an instant.

Su Changxing picked off the rabbits sticking their heads out from the nest one by one.

Jin ran a certain distance, then hurled a ”bomb” into the building. As a fiery white light expanded in the night, the entire lower half of the structure was destroyed, slowly toppling to the side.

This completely enraged the rabbits, and they charged madly from all directions.

Su Changxing pulled a palm-sized silver disk from his backpack and threw it towards Jin’s location. It landed on the ground, creating a small force field that bounced the surrounding rabbits away.

[Force Field Grenade (Dingguan, Lower Rank): Can generate a powerful force field, lasting thirty seconds, with very strong defensive capabilities.]

He had bought many small, portable items from the Doomsday Shop; while not particularly significant, they could be used in some emergency situations.

The next moment.

A green ghostly light flashed in Su Changxing’s eyes, and numerous phantom green figures emerged from the corpses on the ground, some rabbit-shaped Evil Spirits.

The Evil Spirits were not particularly strong, and if they existed for too long, they would constantly affect his spirit, so he only kept a few strong ones in the pendant.

At the same time, he straightforwardly pulled out a pistol and quickly shot at the rabbits.

While the sniper rifle had great power, its firing rate was limited by the firearm’s structure, and he didn’t have a talent like ”Pistol Enthusiast” to increase the firing rate.

After more than ten minutes, these rabbits were thoroughly scared, and the remaining ones fled in panic in all directions, realizing that continuing would likely lead to their extinction in this world.

Their racial genes wouldn’t allow them to do this!

However, Su Changxing wasn’t in a hurry to chase them down; over a dozen reconnaissance robots had long since locked onto the area from above, pinpointing every rabbit’s position.

In the following time, the rabbits seemed to have conceded that the two were invincible, only fleeing and not counterattacking, squeezing their soft bodies into all kinds of crevices.

But Su Changxing was determined to thoroughly eradicate these rabbits, and he and Jin spent the whole night doing nothing but hunting them down.

······

”Adorable bunny~”

Jin shot a red-eyed rabbit curled up in the corner of the room.

Standing at the room’s entrance, Su Changxing stroked his chin, saying, ”This should be the last one, right? These rabbits are truly troublesome.”

It was now morning.

He had killed over three hundred rabbits to smoothly complete the continuous kill condition for promotion, also finishing the task.

”This task must have been aimed at these rabbits; the Doomsday Game had already foreseen their threat... So if left unchecked, would it have resulted in a rabbit apocalypse?”

Su Changxing raised an eyebrow, analyzing the Doomsday Game’s task-release pattern, which seemed to aim at helping them.

But is it really help?

Jin yawned, looking a bit sleepy, and said, ”They’re still too dumb; by the end, they wouldn’t even run, how boring.”

Su Changxing chuckled and said, ”After all, they are just rabbits. Come on, let’s head back and rest.”

After taking a few steps, he received word of a similar incident occurring again, but this time only a few people had died.

Jin tilted her head, saying, ”Huh? Someone causing trouble again?”

Su Changxing nodded, saying, ”Yes, you can go back and rest first, I’ll go take a look.”

Jin shook her head, ”I want to go too.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Alright, let’s go check it out together.”

Jin’s sleeping schedule had become more flexible, and she’d even learned to ”stay up late.”

They passed the base, arriving at Residence No. 1, which was relatively smaller compared to Residence No. 4, also with fewer people, as it was a part of the luxury district previously.

This place was under Team One’s jurisdiction.

Zhu Wenwu had arrived there first with his men, and over a dozen Security Bureau members stood around a pale yellow building, questioning the locals.

”This is outrageous! Such things happening cannot be tolerated! Deputy Captain Zhu, I hope you can promptly address this and find the culprit.”

A middle-aged man in a black Zhongshan suit, with glasses and a flushed face, spoke loudly, his voice carrying clearly to Su Changxing as he walked up from the gate.

Zhu Wenwu maintained a calm smile, speaking unhurriedly:

”Minister Tao, rest assured, we will definitely bring the culprit to justice, but we need your cooperation first, so please refrain from crowding here.”

Zhu Wenwu’s demeanor only seemed to infuriate the middle-aged man, making him feel belittled: ”Are you saying I’m obstructing you?”

Zhu Wenwu still maintained his calm demeanor, saying:

”I didn’t say that, but indeed, we need some space, and during this special period, we ask for your consideration in avoiding congestion here.”

The middle-aged man’s face twitched, unsure what to say, he turned and left, gesticulating.

Su Changxing raised an eyebrow, surprised at Zhu Wenwu’s slickness and how seasoned he seemed, though it felt somewhat odd, strangely adept.

Moreover, what shocked him more was that Zhu Wenwu had already become an Extraordinary; in just a dozen days, he had transformed from an Ordinary Person to an Extraordinary, which was undoubtedly remarkable.

Could this be talent?

”Brother Su!”

Zhu Wenwu greeted Su Changxing with a wave, his words effortlessly friendly.

Su Changxing observed him, sensing no difference, and smiled, ”Well, to think you’ve become an Extraordinary so quickly, impressive.”

Zhu Wenwu nodded, ”Just became an Extraordinary last night, haha, lucky me.”

Lucky indeed... Su Changxing pondered whether someone could suddenly become an Extraordinary under extreme luck, but ultimately saw it as a good thing.
