A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 381: Chapter 381: Pulling Out Faye Sterling’s Fangs (5)

”Please excuse the scene, Mr. Xavier. Kyle just had a little spat with someone. It’s nothing, it’ll be sorted out in a moment! Once it’s settled, the person we’re waiting for should arrive,” Franklin Sutton immediately explained, worried about offending Joel Xavier. ”Seraphina Sterling, we have important business today. On any other day, as your elder, I wouldn’t mind treating a young lady like you to a meal, but not today! Here’s what you’ll do: go out to the main lobby and order some food. I’ll pay for it! But you need to leave here immediately. We’re waiting to welcome an honored guest!”

Franklin Sutton knew how to prioritize. ’Teaching Seraphina Sterling a lesson can wait,’ he thought. ’The most pressing matter is to meet the designer of Ancient Charm Porcelain Ornaments. Why should Jade Pavilion get the authorization to sell them in their store, but my jewelry shop can’t?! Why let that bastard Felix Gallagher have such a huge piece of the pie all to himself!’

”Seraphina Sterling! My dad’s right. Didn’t you come here today just to freeload? Go eat in the main lobby. We’ll cover your bill. Just stop making a scene here and getting in the way of our business!” Kellan Sutton looked as if he were shooing away a beggar. His high-and-mighty, arrogant posture, combined with his condescending tone, was grating to watch.

”Those are your words!” Seraphina Sterling’s smile grew even brighter. She turned to leave, but at that moment, Joel Xavier, who had been watching the show from the sidelines, finally spoke. ”President Sutton, Mr. Sutton, what are you two saying? Weren’t you here to receive a guest? Why are you trying to chase her away now? Do you have any real intention of discussing this partnership? Or are you just trying to make a fool out of me?”

Joel Xavier’s voice seethed with anger. ’How dare they mock his boss? Have this father and son completely lost their minds? No wonder the boss wants to take on The Sutton Group. With leadership this brainless, it’s only a matter of time before someone else rips out Sutton Jewelry by the roots! Franklin Sutton is just desperately struggling, anyway. It would be a kindness to put him out of his misery sooner rather than later.’

”Mr. Xavier, what are you talking about? You should know my sincerity better than anyone. Why would I ever make a fool of you?” Franklin Sutton was completely baffled by Joel Xavier’s fury. ’He hadn’t done anything wrong, so why was this man suddenly so angry?’ 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

”If you were truly sincere about collaborating, President Sutton, then why did you bar Miss Sterling from entering? And why did you verbally insult her?” Joel Xavier was not a man who angered easily, but once he did, his fury was not so easily quenched.

A terrible premonition started to form in Franklin Sutton’s mind. ’Could it be...?’

”President Sutton, I was truly impressed by your sincerity. If you hadn’t repeatedly requested a meeting with the designer of Ancient Charm Porcelain Ornaments to discuss a collaboration, I never would have arranged this dinner! I never imagined that before the meal even started, you wouldn’t even let the guest in the door! I’d love to know, what exactly did you mean by that?” Joel Xavier didn’t hold back. ’These people were just picking on his boss because she was young!’

”Store Manager Xavier, so it turns out the person you mentioned—the one who was so sincere about collaborating—is Mr. Sutton!” Seraphina Sterling said, watching Franklin Sutton’s stunned expression, her bright eyes twinkling with delight. ’She just loved seeing that look of utter surprise on people’s faces!’ ”But... I’m not sensing any sincerity at all. You didn’t accept some lavish gift to speak on President Sutton’s behalf, did you?”

’As if you don’t know whether I took a gift,’ Joel Xavier thought. ’And I wonder who it was that said, ”When a lavish gift is delivered to your door, it’d be a fool’s errand not to accept it”?’ But he could only think these things. Outwardly, he put on a look of shame and said, ”Miss Sterling, my deepest apologies. This is my fault!”

”Wait! I’m confused about something,” Franklin Sutton stammered, his mind finally kicking back into gear. ”Store Manager Xavier... are you saying that the designer of Ancient Charm Porcelain Ornaments is Seraphina Sterling?”
