A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Robbing the Cradle (8)

”What does it have to do with them?” Seraphina Sterling’s brow furrowed even tighter. She realized that she and Terrence Grant were completely incapable of communicating. ”Who can kiss me and who can’t is my business. It has nothing to do with you! Don’t trouble yourself with such a trivial matter!”

”No one can kiss you but me!” Terrence Grant declared, staking his claim as if swearing an oath.

Seraphina felt that she and Terrence Grant were from two different worlds, utterly incapable of communicating!

While she was lost in thought, Terrence Grant decisively flipped open the lid and masterfully slipped the Jade Bracelet onto her slender wrist. It was cool and soothing to the touch. Wearing a Jade Bracelet in the summer heat was indeed incredibly comfortable.

”They say jade nurtures the wearer. I hope it helps you put on some weight! You’re too skinny right now, like you’re malnourished! It’s like hugging a bag of bones!” Having completed his mission, Terrence Grant started driving again.

Seraphina looked down at her body. ”My figure is perfectly fine, thank you very much. Besides, it’s not like I asked you to hug me!”

”In the future, I’m the only one who gets to hold you! You are destined to be Mrs. Grant! Once you start university, don’t let any of those male classmates lead you astray. They’re all just a bunch of brats. How can they possibly compare to my handsome, charming self? Your top priority right now is your studies; your grandfather has placed great hopes in you! You don’t want to make him worry at his age, do you? Dating and all that is a complete waste of time and energy! It’s not for you!”

But Terrence Grant was still worried. ’Once she’s at university, her social circle will get much bigger. And while I have plenty of confidence in my own charms, when it comes to love, you can’t rule out the one-in-a-million chance! The school is crawling with young guys! This girl is so damn eye-catching. What if some damn fly starts buzzing around her? Wouldn’t that just mean another rival for me?’

Seraphina really couldn’t stand him repeating himself. She flashed a warm smile, her long lashes fluttering. ”You know, seeing how sincere you were, I was actually considering accepting your pursuit and trying this dating thing with you. But after hearing what you just said, I realize you make a very good point. My most important mission right now is to study. Getting into a relationship would be rather inappropriate! It’s a real shame, so I guess I’ll just...”

”It’s fine. I said you shouldn’t date those young punks on campus. Dating me, of course, is a completely different story. How can you compare me to them? If you date me, your studies absolutely won’t suffer! Because I’ll be supervising you! And even if they do, I have the means to get you caught back up!” Terrence Grant had once again entered his arrogant, narcissistic mode.

’A man needs his dignity like a tree needs its bark! The great Mr. Grant of Aethelgard... how could he be so shameless! Who would even believe this if they heard it? What does he mean I can’t date other people, only him! Good heavens! Can someone please come and take this monster away!’

”Since you’ve already agreed to my pursuit, you are now my girlfriend. From this day forward, you are to stay far away from any unwanted suitors! You must always remember that you’re officially off the market! If someone tries to pursue you, you must immediately reject them in a firm and serious manner! You must resolutely defend my rights as your boyfriend!”

Terrence Grant had taken Seraphina Sterling’s teasing words as the gospel truth! And he was already starting to lay down the rules for her! ℯℯ𝑙.

The more Seraphina listened, the more wrong it sounded. She quickly and anxiously tried to explain, ”I was just— Mmph!”

Terrence Grant silenced her with a kiss, forcing all her words back down her throat. ”Seraphina, I don’t care what your reasons were, you just agreed! I’m taking it seriously. You are my girlfriend now!”

They were so close their noses were nearly touching. In the profound depths of Terrence Grant’s eyes, Seraphina could clearly see her own face, her own expression. Gazing into those eyes, so full of deep affection, Seraphina’s heart fluttered for a moment, and she found she couldn’t utter a single word of refusal.

Terrence Grant was immensely satisfied by her stunned expression. He leaned in and kissed her eyelids. This time, the touch was as light as a dragonfly skimming the water, there and gone in an instant. ”Be good. Get out and go register. I’ll come pick you up when your military training is over.”

Seraphina stumbled out of the car in a daze. That single word, ”good,” had left her reeling. ’I’m not a kid, so why is he telling me to ”be good”? Good my ass! I’m a university student, not a grade-schooler! No, wait... I was just trying to pull a prank, so how did I end up selling myself out? That fox! That crafty old fox! He must have calculated that I’d try to tease him like that! That’s why he was so dead serious about warning me not to date in the first place!’

’A single misstep brings a lifetime of regret! You can’t let your guard down for even a second around that fox. His looks and his words are far too deceptive! One moment of carelessness and you’ll fall right into his trap, completely outplayed!’

Dragging her suitcase, Seraphina Sterling finally arrived at the registration area.

”Hi, I’m here to register.” The midday September sun was intense, and there were only four people at the registration desk. They had it much better than Seraphina, however, cooling off in the shade of a large parasol.

The upperclassman didn’t even raise her head, just waved a dismissive hand in her direction. ”Too late! Registration is over! Just your bad luck, you missed the window! Retake the entrance exam and come back next year, maybe?”

This was a tradition at Aethelgard University. Any student who failed to register before the deadline was, without exception, not admitted. It was one rule to impress upon everyone the importance of time and the value of punctuality.
