”Captain Unohana, your healing agent isn’t something just anyone can withstand. Save it for Captain Kuchiki, whose injuries are far more severe.” Gin Ichimaru remarked to Retsu Unohana as Isane Kotetsu tended to his wounds.

Retsu Unohana, her gaze fixed on the battlefield where Yusuke and Yamamoto Genryūsai were locked in combat, slowly asked, ”Captain Ichimaru, in your estimation, who will emerge victorious from the Captain-Commander’s battle with Captain Uchiha?”

Gin Ichimaru smiled. ”A clash of that caliber is beyond my capacity to predict. Let us simply await the outcome.”

Yamamoto Genryūsai and Yusuke were now locked in a fierce exchange, neither having released their Ryūjin Jakka, their battle a purely swordsmanship-based confrontation.

Unlike the speed-based duel between Ichigo Kurosaki and Mirai Saru, or the tactical and strategic battle between Byakuya Kuchiki and Gin Ichimaru, Yusuke and Yamamoto Genryūsai’s clash was a direct confrontation of spiritual pressure.

Each strike, seemingly ordinary, was imbued with immense spiritual pressure.

Within this pressure-based domain, even superior speed offered little advantage; only sufficient spiritual pressure could break free from this oppressive force.

Each clash of their Ryūjin Jakka generated a massive spiritual pressure storm, radiating outwards from Yusuke and Yamamoto Genryūsai.

The force of these spiritual pressure waves forced lieutenants with weaker spiritual pressure to retreat over a hundred meters, even captains finding it difficult to approach too closely.

However, after a short time, Yamamoto Genryūsai began to gain the upper hand. His strikes, imbued with overwhelming power, drove him steadily forward, forcing Yusuke to retreat.

Through their exchange, Yusuke confirmed that Yamamoto Genryūsai’s spiritual pressure surpassed both his own and Aizen’s, making him the strongest in a direct confrontation.

Yusuke, having sacrificed one-fifth of his soul, currently possessed the weakest spiritual pressure among the three.

The experienced Yamamoto Genryūsai had also recognized his advantage in spiritual pressure, and, adept at exploiting such advantages, immediately intensified his offensive.

”Hitotsume: Nadegiri (The First: Killing Stroke)!”

As Yusuke focused on defense, Yamamoto Genryūsai’s spiritual pressure surged, a razor-sharp strike piercing Yusuke’s defenses and aimed directly at his forehead.

Yusuke, startled, instantly utilized his Kamui-based intangible ability to evade the deadly blow.

However, due to Yamamoto Genryūsai’s incredible speed, the impact of the spiritual pressure shattered Yusuke’s glasses.

”Indeed, the founder of the ’Genryū’ swordsmanship. One cannot afford even a moment of carelessness,” Yusuke remarked with a smile.

Despite gaining the upper hand, Yamamoto Genryūsai’s expression grew even more serious.

Looking at Yusuke’s unusual eyes, which resembled the night sky, he slowly stated, ”Spatial abilities? I never imagined you possessed such unorthodox fighting styles.”

Besides the unknown abilities of Susanoo, the Kamui-based intangibility Yusuke had just used also filled Yamamoto Genryūsai with apprehension.

Coupled with Yusuke’s unusual eyes, Yamamoto Genryūsai sensed that this opponent would not be easily defeated.

Yusuke smiled. ”A Shinigami’s battle is a battle of spiritual pressure, but when two Shinigami of comparable spiritual pressure clash, victory isn’t solely determined by spiritual pressure alone.”

Yamamoto Genryūsai coldly snorted. ”You mean to say that you, with your superior versatility, can defeat me?”

A glint flashed in Yusuke’s eyes. ”Precisely.”

Hearing Yusuke’s words, Yamamoto Genryūsai, who had stood at the pinnacle of Shinigami power for a millennium, further intensified his spiritual pressure. A towering pillar of flame erupted from his body, the intense heat threatening to evaporate all moisture from Sōkyoku Hill.

”Boy, let this old man show you what true combat entails!” Yamamoto Genryūsai declared gravely.

Undeterred by Yamamoto Genryūsai’s display of power, Yusuke responded in kind, unleashing an almost equally powerful pillar of flame, intensifying the already scorching heat.

The intense heat from their clash of fiery spiritual pressure even roused Tōshirō Hitsugaya, who had been unconscious but highly sensitive to temperature changes.

”Spiritual pressure can be used to this extent...?”

Tōshirō Hitsugaya, having awakened, stared blankly at the two figures engulfed in flames, realizing just how much further he had to go as a newly appointed captain.

Yusuke and Yamamoto Genryūsai’s intense gazes met across the distance, both simultaneously shouting the same release command.

”All Things in the Universe, Turn to Ashes!”

With the release of the Ryūjin Jakka, the fiery spiritual pressure they had unleashed began to contract, the flames coalescing around the blades of their Ryūjin Jakka, the trailing flames forming a sun-like ring behind them.

Although the flames appeared smaller, the temperature hadn’t decreased.

The captains present understood that Yamamoto Genryūsai and Yusuke had compressed their fiery spiritual pressure into their Zanpakutō, making their attacks far more potent than a raw release of spiritual pressure.

However, the more perceptive captains could sense that the flames engulfing Yamamoto Genryūsai’s Ryūjin Jakka were significantly stronger than Yusuke’s.

This was partly due to Yamamoto Genryūsai’s superior spiritual pressure, but also because of his millennia of focused training in fire-based abilities and his profound understanding of the Ryūjin Jakka, surpassing even Yusuke’s.

”Boy, if that’s the extent of your power, you’ll leave your life here on Sōkyoku Hill today!” Yamamoto Genryūsai stated calmly.

Yusuke, fully aware that he couldn’t defeat Yamamoto Genryūsai with only the Ryūjin Jakka, activated his Sharingan, and the Susanoo he had previously used against Komamura Sajin reappeared behind him.

”Dragonflame Susanoo!”

Crimson runes etched onto the Susanoo’s black armor ignited with flames, and Yusuke’s Ryūjin Jakka materialized in the Susanoo’s hand.

The colossal black warrior, engulfed in raging flames, resembled a demon god emerging from a sea of fire, its imposing presence even overshadowing Yamamoto Genryūsai’s formidable aura!

With the Susanoo’s power enhancing him, Yusuke could now control even greater spiritual pressure than his opponent.

Wielding the massive Ryūjin Jakka, the Susanoo moved with astonishing speed, surpassing even Shunpo, appearing before Yamamoto Genryūsai in an instant, delivering a devastating downward strike.

Faced with this awe-inspiring attack, Yamamoto Genryūsai didn’t flinch, leaping high into the air to counter with a fiery strike of his own.

The onlookers gasped at Yamamoto Genryūsai’s response, a reaction that even Yusuke hadn’t anticipated.

However, instead of the expected scene of Yamamoto Genryūsai being blown away by the Susanoo’s attack, the powerful old man, his body engulfed in flames, his muscles bulging, managed to withstand the Susanoo’s attack purely through sheer strength!
