After Ryūken Ishida’s departure, Shiba Isshin, in the location provided by Kisuke Urahara, eagerly established a two-hour-long ”link” with the woman of his dreams.

As Kisuke Urahara had predicted, this method proved effective. During their link, the Hollow hole on Masaki Kurosaki’s chest slowly disappeared. The Hollow’s power, as described by Kisuke Urahara, stabilized, held in balance by the combined forces of human, Shinigami, Quincy, and Hollow energies.

Having saved Masaki Kurosaki from the fatal Hollow corruption, Shiba Isshin also unknowingly planted a seed of life—the future Ichigo Kurosaki.

Weakened from the significant spiritual energy loss caused by the Hollow corruption, Masaki Kurosaki fell into a deep sleep.

Shiba Isshin, tidying his clothes, feeling refreshed, entered the main room of the Urahara Shop, where Kisuke Urahara was waiting.

”Ah, Captain Shiba, truly impressive. It took you quite a while,” Kisuke Urahara said with a smile.

Shiba Isshin laughed heartily. ”I am a true man! A mere two hours is nothing! Hahahahahaha!”

”You’re human now, unable to return to the Seireitei. What are your plans?” Kisuke Urahara asked.

A fleeting look of disappointment crossed Shiba Isshin’s face, quickly replaced by anticipation. ”My plans? To begin a new life as a human, of course!”

Kisuke Urahara, fanning his mouth with his folding fan, chuckled. ”Captain Shiba, I think you were simply captivated by her.”

Shiba Isshin scratched his head, laughing. ”Haha, you figured it out.”

Although Shiba Isshin appeared outwardly composed, Kisuke Urahara still sensed a hint of sadness in his eyes. After all, he had abandoned his future as a Shinigami.

Sitting cross-legged on a cushion opposite Kisuke Urahara, Shiba Isshin’s smile faded, his expression becoming serious. ”Kisuke Urahara, now tell me everything you know.”

While Shiba Isshin began his new life in Karakura Town, his lieutenant, Tōshirō Hitsugaya, and Third Seat Rangiku Matsumoto of the Tenth Division were growing increasingly irritated.

Two days prior, Shiba Isshin had left a note stating he was patrolling the Human World and hadn’t contacted them since. Their attempts to reach him had been unsuccessful.

”Captain Shiba is so inconsiderate, always doing his own thing and making excuses!” Rangiku Matsumoto said angrily to Tōshirō Hitsugaya.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya, maintaining his usual calm demeanor, leaned against the wall, his Zanpakutō held close, eyes closed. However, a sense of foreboding lingered in his heart.

Seeing Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s silence, Rangiku Matsumoto leaned closer, her ample chest pressing against his shoulder.

”Tōshirō, when you become captain, you won’t treat your subordinates like Captain Shiba, will you?” Rangiku Matsumoto said with a smile.

Rangiku Matsumoto always teased the prodigious young vice-captain, finding immense satisfaction in disrupting his calm composure.

Knowing Rangiku Matsumoto was teasing him, Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s temples throbbed slightly.

Subtly shifting his position to lessen the pressure, Tōshirō Hitsugaya slowly opened his eyes. ”With my current experience, becoming captain is highly unlikely. And please, call me Vice-Captain Hitsugaya.”

Rangiku Matsumoto smirked. ”Tōshirō, no need to hide it. I saw you practicing Bankai in the middle of the night.”

Tōshirō Hitsugaya glanced at Rangiku Matsumoto. ”That sneaky spiritual pressure was you? Why were you following me in the middle of the night?”

Rangiku Matsumoto chuckled nervously. ”It was merely a coincidence.”

At that moment, a Shinigami from the First Division arrived at the Tenth Division barracks, interrupting their conversation.

”Vice-Captain Hitsugaya, Third Seat Matsumoto, the Captain-Commander orders your immediate presence in the Captain’s meeting hall. All the captains are awaiting you.”

The messenger Shinigami’s words surprised Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto. They wondered why the Captain-Commander summoned them, especially with all the other captains present.

Exchanging a look, they followed the messenger to the Captain’s meeting hall.

Seeing all the captains except their own, Shiba Isshin, present, Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto realized something significant had occurred.

Upon seeing Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto, Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryūsai said slowly, ”Vice-Captain Hitsugaya, Third Seat Matsumoto, do you know Captain Shiba’s whereabouts?”

Tōshirō Hitsugaya stepped forward respectfully. ”Two days ago, Captain Shiba left a note, stating he was patrolling Karakura Town in the Human World, and we haven’t heard from him since. We attempted to contact him, but without success.”

Yamamoto Genryūsai said slowly, ”An hour ago, the Technical Development Bureau reported that Captain Shiba’s spiritual pressure is undetectable. His spiritual pressure vanished in Karakura Town.”

Tōshirō Hitsugaya frowned. ”I’m unsure what transpired. However, in my opinion, Captain Shiba must have encountered some unforeseen event; otherwise, his disappearance is inexplicable.”

Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryūsai nodded, then addressed the assembled captains gravely. ”Tenth Division Captain Shiba Isshin is missing. The Tenth Division’s responsibilities, including locating Kisuke Urahara, are crucial. What are your suggestions?”

Yusuke observed Tōshirō Hitsugaya, sensing his spiritual pressure was on the verge of captain-level.

Based on Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s talent and the timing of recent events, he should have mastered Hyōrinmaru’s Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru.

”Vice-Captain Hitsugaya, have you mastered Bankai?” Yusuke asked with a smile.

Yusuke’s question stunned all the captains present. They had never witnessed a Shinigami master Bankai at Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s age.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya paused slightly, then nodded. ”Captain Uchiha, your perception is indeed keen. I have recently mastered the ability to use Bankai.”
