Normally, Masaki Kurosaki possessed the ability to evade such a white light. However, at that moment, her attention was completely captivated by her son, Ichigo Kurosaki, who was held captive by Grand Fisher; by the time she perceived the approaching danger, it was too late to react effectively. Her focus on her son’s immediate peril left her vulnerable.

A direct hit from this white light would instantly incapacitate, or even kill, Masaki Kurosaki, regardless of her exceptional spiritual power. The sheer destructive power of the light was undeniable. This white light was the Auswählen, unleashed by Yhwach, the Quincy King, a devastating and indiscriminate attack.

The Auswählen, a unique ability possessed only by Yhwach, the Quincy King, allowed him to disregard spatial limitations and seize the spiritual energy of mixed-blood Quincies from any distance. The power was absolute and terrifying.

In the vast majority of cases, the mixed-blood Quincies who had their spiritual energy forcibly extracted also perished; the loss of spiritual energy was tantamount to death.

At that very same moment, this white light appeared in locations worldwide where mixed-blood Quincies resided, a simultaneous, global event. Those struck by this white light had their spiritual energy and lives irrevocably reclaimed by Yhwach. The attack was widespread and devastating.

Ichigo Kurosaki and Grand Fisher both witnessed the white light descending upon Masaki Kurosaki. Ichigo Kurosaki, his face etched with anxiety, cried out, ”Watch out!”, while Grand Fisher’s eyes gleamed with unexpected elation.

Although Grand Fisher was unaware of the true nature of this suddenly descending white light, it instantly recognized the opportune moment to escape the impending danger. It sensed a chance for survival.

However, at that critical, life-or-death moment, a calm voice suddenly echoed, and a powerful spiritual pressure enveloped Masaki Kurosaki, shielding her from the immediate threat.

”Susanoo.”

A colossal, demonic-looking black skeletal warrior materialized instantaneously, raising its arms to directly intercept the descending white light. The white light’s spiritual particles and the black skeletal warrior’s immense spiritual pressure collided repeatedly, consuming each other in a furious exchange of energy, creating violent winds that ravaged the surrounding area for hundreds of meters. The clash of energies was immense.

At the feet of this gigantic black skeletal warrior stood a figure clad in a white haori—Yusuke. He had arrived just in the nick of time.

Since arriving in the Human World, he had been secretly observing Ichigo Kurosaki and Masaki Kurosaki, even dispatching his Gen’yaku crow to protect Ichigo Kurosaki on several occasions. His surveillance was strategic and purposeful.

He monitored Ichigo Kurosaki to observe the Vizard White within him, and he monitored Masaki Kurosaki to identify an opportunity to sense Yhwach’s presence via the Auswählen, using the situation to his advantage.

At that very moment, far away in Las Noches, Mayuri Kurotsuchi, having received instructions from Yusuke, was utilizing his advanced technology to trace the origin of the white light’s power, providing crucial support from a distance.

Upon witnessing Yusuke’s sudden arrival, those present displayed expressions of astonishment. Masaki Kurosaki was simply shocked; Ichigo Kurosaki felt a surge of relief and hope; Grand Fisher was consumed by terror.

As a Hollow that had spent millennia evolving to its current formidable state, Grand Fisher was exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced among Hollows. It recognized its opponent immediately.

The individual who had suddenly appeared was clearly a captain from Soul Society’s Gotei 13, a powerful and highly skilled Shinigami. A formidable adversary.

Grand Fisher attempted to seize the opportunity to flee, but it discovered that it was completely unable to move, its body immobilized. The captain had somehow rendered it helpless.

”I won’t let you take this child.”

A calm, unwavering voice echoed in its ears. Grand Fisher then realized that the Shinigami captain had silently appeared beside it, and the boy with the exceptionally high concentration of spiritual energy, whom it had been holding captive, was now lifted into the air by the captain, held securely by the waistband of his trousers.

Knowing it was utterly outmatched by this Shinigami captain and completely immobilized, Grand Fisher made a desperate, last-ditch attempt at self-preservation, resorting to pleading for mercy. ”Please, sir, I was momentarily overcome by temptation! I’ve never consumed human souls before; it was only this boy’s exceptionally potent spiritual energy that I couldn’t resist. Please, I implore you, forgive me this one transgression!”

Yusuke, holding Ichigo Kurosaki in one hand and walking towards Masaki Kurosaki, said to Grand Fisher without turning around, ”I’m sorry, but you’re already dead.” His words were delivered with quiet finality.

Grand Fisher was stunned, failing to fully grasp the implications of Yusuke’s statement, when it suddenly felt an excruciating pain as an extremely thin, black line materialized on its forehead, then sliced vertically through its entire being.

Before it could even utter a scream, it disintegrated into spiritual particles, completely vanishing into thin air, its existence abruptly and utterly extinguished. It was a swift and decisive end.

Ichigo Kurosaki’s mouth gaped open in shock, unsure whether to feel fear or relief at the sudden turn of events. He was overwhelmed by the power he had just witnessed.

Due to Yusuke’s timely intervention, Masaki Kurosaki, the intended target of the Auswählen, was saved from certain death. The white light of the Auswählen slowly dissipated, and the clouds in the sky gradually closed, returning to their normal state.

Masaki Kurosaki, overcome with worry for her son, rushed to embrace Ichigo Kurosaki, anxiously asking, ”Ichigo, are you alright?”

Ichigo Kurosaki, having been gently placed on the ground by Yusuke, shook his head. ”I’m fine, Mom. Are you alright?”

Masaki Kurosaki smiled with relief and gratitude, her heart filled with immense relief, then turned to Yusuke, her expression one of profound gratitude. ”Shinigami-san, thank you for your help. If it weren’t for you, we might have been killed today.”

”Shinigami?”

Hearing Masaki Kurosaki’s words, Ichigo Kurosaki, in his mother’s arms, looked puzzled. He didn’t yet understand the meaning of the word ”Shinigami,” and the term, to his young ears, sounded ominous and potentially malevolent.

However, recalling the massive black skeletal warrior Yusuke had summoned, Ichigo Kurosaki tentatively associated it with the Shinigami of mythology and legend, figures of immense power.

Yusuke smiled. ”I’m temporarily stationed in Karakura Town. I detected a large surge of Hollow spiritual pressure and came to investigate. Fortunately, I arrived in time. I didn’t expect to encounter a Quincy, especially one of such legendary status.”

Masaki Kurosaki felt a slight chill at the mention of Shinigami and Quincy, the age-old conflict between the two factions causing her to feel a degree of apprehension. She was wary of this powerful Shinigami.

However, seeing Yusuke’s continued gentle expression, devoid of any hostile intent towards her, her apprehension subsided. His demeanor was reassuring.

Ichigo Kurosaki was utterly bewildered, completely overwhelmed by the events of the day. Shinigami, Quincy—he couldn’t understand what his mother and Yusuke were saying. The battle he had just witnessed far exceeded his comprehension and understanding of the world.

If he hadn’t already developed the ability to see spiritual entities, confirming that the world was far more complex than it appeared on the surface, today’s events would have been profoundly traumatic and could have irrevocably altered his worldview.

Just before Yusuke prepared to depart, he addressed Masaki Kurosaki. ”Miss Quincy, that white light wasn’t the Hollow’s ability; it was a power specifically targeting Quincies. You must remain vigilant and cautious.”

With those words, Yusuke’s figure vanished from before Masaki Kurosaki and Ichigo Kurosaki, leaving Masaki Kurosaki to contemplate the significance of his warning.

She didn’t ponder for long, however, before Ichigo Kurosaki’s voice broke her train of thought.

”Mom, what was all that?” Ichigo Kurosaki asked, looking up at Masaki Kurosaki with wide, inquisitive eyes.

Masaki Kurosaki stroked Ichigo Kurosaki’s head, smiling gently. ”Let’s go home, Ichigo. I’ll explain everything to you later, when we’re in a safer and more comfortable environment.”
