Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 105: NZNT: Chapter 105

On the night of Kumogakure’s defeat, they sent a surrender request to Yusuke.

Yusuke, having already obtained two of Kumogakure’s tailed beasts, didn’t have any plans to continue attacking Kumogakure. After demanding substantial compensation from Kumogakure, he accepted their surrender.

Although there were still many impulsive ninjas within Kumogakure who insisted on fighting Konoha to the death, preferring to die honorably rather than surrender.

But with the calm Dodai in charge, these voices were suppressed.

Because of this, Dodai was criticized by many Kumogakure ninjas for being cowardly and prioritizing his own life.

However, Dodai clearly understood that no matter the pressure, he had to remain steady at this dangerous moment.

The reason Dodai had so quickly agreed to surrender to Konoha was to prevent Konoha from continuing its attack and causing greater losses.

After this battle, Kumogakure was severely weakened. Most of its strongest ninjas were lost.

Although the Fourth Raikage’s body was recovered, he died of his severe injuries. The Two-Tails and Eight-Tails jinchūriki were captured alive by Konoha. Kumogakure, once a top-tier village among the Five Great Ninja Villages, had become the weakest.

If Konoha continued its offensive, Kumogakure’s losses would be even more immeasurable. In a worst-case scenario, not only Kumogakure but also the Land of Lightning might be destroyed.

After making the decision to surrender and sending the surrender request, Kumogakure immediately informed Kirigakure through a transmission sealing array.

(Transmission tools exist in the Naruto world, but they clearly aren’t widespread. They’re only used in important situations.)

This wasn’t because Kumogakure was particularly magnanimous. Kumogakure didn’t want to make any more enemies at this time.

This war was primarily led by Kumogakure. If Kumogakure surrendered first without informing its allies, and Kirigakure suffered heavy losses as a result, it would greatly affect the relationship between the two villages and even the two countries.

In the past, Kumogakure didn’t care about Kirigakure’s attitude. But now, Kumogakure would have to carefully handle its diplomatic relations for a long time.

After receiving the message from Kumogakure, Kirigakure was also in an uproar. The Kirigakure high command hadn’t expected the powerful Kumogakure to fail, let alone fail so completely.

But since Kumogakure, the main attacker, had already surrendered, Kirigakure had even less reason to continue fighting Konoha.

The Kirigakure high command immediately convened a meeting to discuss a peace treaty with Konoha. Although the Fourth Mizukage, controlled by Obito, insisted on finishing the war, no one in the village supported him.

Ultimately, Kirigakure also proposed peace to Konoha the day after Kumogakure’s surrender. They were willing to pay for all the losses Konoha had suffered in the battle with Kirigakure and provide additional material compensation.

If Yusuke had been the commander on the front line, he might not have agreed so quickly to Kirigakure’s peace proposal. He hadn’t obtained the Three-Tails yet, and he usually liked to teach his opponents a lesson before negotiating peace.

But Jiraiya, who loved peace, was the commander now. Seeing that the enemy was willing to sue for peace and pay compensation, he happily accepted.

Kirigakure’s quick peace proposal also thwarted Yusuke’s plan to capture the Three-Tails. He was a step too late. The Genya crow that had just flown to the eastern front flew back to Konoha Village, making Yusuke somewhat amused.

But Yusuke didn’t really care. With the Two-Tails and Eight-Tails, he had enough tailed beasts to add another one to his seals and add a suitable seal to each of his disciples.

After Kumogakure’s surrender and Kirigakure’s peace proposal, the entire ninja world was in disbelief at Konoha’s achievements.

Although Konoha was the leader of the Five Great Ninja Villages, it had clearly been declining in recent years.

In this situation, Konoha was able to withstand the attacks of two villages of the same level, including Kumogakure, which was considered the strongest. This was incredibly unbelievable.

What shocked the ninja world even more was the ”Valley of Clouds and Lightning Battle.”

The Uchiha clan, led by Yusuke, returned to the ninja world’s attention with an incredibly powerful display.

Yusuke, the head of the Uchiha clan, personally inflicted fatal injuries on the Fourth Raikage, capturing the perfect jinchūriki, Killer Bee alive. He had the aura of the strongest ninja in the world.

Itachi, who was only ten years old and had captured the Two-Tails jinchūriki alive, and Izumi, who had defeated Kumogakure’s strategist, Dodai, also became famous throughout the ninja world.

Because Itachi and Izumi became famous, information about Kabuto, also Yusuke’s disciple, was dug up by gossipers. But because he didn’t have any actual battle achievements, Kabuto was widely considered a liability, which made him quite upset for a while.

When he led his army back to Konoha, Yusuke was surprised to learn of the Third Hokage’s death.

Because Konoha’s high command temporarily kept the Third Hokage’s death a secret during the war, Yusuke only learned about it after returning to the village.

Yusuke’s assessment of the Third Hokage was more negative than positive. There was no doubt that the Third Hokage prioritized the village. He was willing to sacrifice himself for the village.

But the Third Hokage’s weakness led him to make many wrong decisions, pushing Konoha from prosperity to decline. If the protagonist Naruto hadn’t been in Konoha in the original story, Konoha would have already been destroyed.

Now that the Third Hokage had passed away, and the Fourth Hokage was still in a coma, Konoha was leaderless. All major decisions had to be made by Yusuke, the chief advisor to the Hokage. ℴ

This change made Yusuke very uncomfortable. Aside from training, he had many research projects to work on, such as solving the problem of Izumi’s Mangekyō Sharingan’s constant chakra depletion, or developing new Flame Release jutsu by combining the power of Ryūjin Jakka.

Because Yusuke’s defeat of Kumogakure laid the foundation for Konoha’s victory in this war, his personal status and reputation in Konoha had reached its peak. There were many calls within the village for Yusuke to become the Fifth Hokage, but he firmly suppressed them.

Yusuke wasn’t very interested in becoming Hokage. His plan was to support Itachi to become Hokage in a few years and remain hidden behind the scenes.

It was indeed a good time to support a Hokage’s ascension. Unfortunately, Itachi was too young.

Seeing Yusuke’s firm refusal of the position of Fifth Hokage, the others had no choice. They finally decided to bestow upon Yusuke the honor of the Hokage’s half-sleeve, to recognize his contributions to Konoha.

The last ninja to receive the honor of the Hokage’s half-sleeve was Konoha’s White Fang, Sakumo Hatake.

About a month after the war ended, the Konoha Research Institute was completed. Located east of the Uchiha clan’s residence, near the Konoha Military Police Force, Yusuke moved his laboratory and office to the Konoha Research Institute.

The construction of the Konoha Research Institute was incredibly expensive. All the equipment was the most advanced in the ninja world, much of it imported from other countries. Fortunately, it was funded by the Daimyō of the Land of Fire. Otherwise, Konoha alone couldn’t have afforded it.

Around and inside the institute, Yusuke set up many barriers and sealing arrays to ensure the security of the institute’s research results.

Next to the institute, Yusuke also planned an open space to build an academy to supplement the institute with talent.

In the top-floor laboratory of the institute, Yusuke had just completed the task of extracting tailed beasts from jinchūriki. Several of his disciples were standing obediently, waiting for their teacher to distribute the tailed beasts.

In the center of the laboratory were two sealing arrays. A sphere emitting powerful chakra energy floated above each array.

The left sphere was gray, and the shadows of octopus tentacles could be faintly seen inside. It contained the sealed Eight-Tails, Gyūki.

The other sphere burned with a deep blue flame. It contained the sealed Two-Tails, Matatabi.
