Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 104: NZNT: Chapter 104

The instant the Shinigami disappeared, White Zetsu was momentarily stunned before reacting.

Gripping the Third Hokage’s arm tightly to prevent him from escaping, White Zetsu extended a wooden spike from his other hand and viciously stabbed it into the Third Hokage’s chest.

”Wood Release: The art of insertion!”

Just as White Zetsu launched a fatal attack on the Third Hokage, Kabuto, below the wooden Buddha, launched a long-range attack on White Zetsu, trying to stop him. But he was a step too late.

A thin, cylindrical column of wind-natured chakra, about one centimeter in diameter, shot out from Kabuto’s mouth like a high-pressure water jet.

White Zetsu immediately mobilized the wooden Buddha to extend a giant palm in front of him to block.

The Third Hokage let out a muffled groan as he was struck by the wooden spike. More spikes suddenly emerged from his chest and back. A large amount of blood flowed from his mouth and wounds. Judging from his injuries, the already frail Third Hokage would not survive.

Kabuto’s cylindrical wind-natured chakra easily pierced the wooden Buddha’s blocking palm and pierced through Obito’s abdomen. The piercing also created an air explosion, leaving a large hole in Obito’s abdomen.

Obito, who had been seriously injured, spat out a large mouthful of blood. Red blood mixed with the viscous White Zetsu substance continuously flowed from the wound.

White Zetsu immediately flew backward, mobilizing the Wood Release chakra in his body to repair his body.

”Old geezer!”

Seeing the Third Hokage’s terrible condition, Tsunade cried out in alarm. She immediately jumped onto the wooden Buddha and quickly arrived beside the Third Hokage, holding him in her arms.

Facing the blood-soaked Third Hokage, Tsunade’s eyes widened, and a look of terror appeared on her face. Her hemophobia had flared up.

But seeing the Third Hokage’s breathing rapidly weakening, Tsunade forcibly suppressed her fear, temporarily overcoming her psychological barrier.

Trembling, she removed the wooden spikes protruding from the Third Hokage’s body. Tsunade pressed her hands against the Third Hokage’s chest and used ”Byakugō Seal” to try to save his life.

”Don’t waste your chakra. I know my injuries. It’s impossible to save me!”

The Third Hokage’s vision was already blurry, and his voice was intermittent.

”Old geezer, don’t talk right now. As long as you hold on to your last breath, you’ll be fine!” Tsunade’s tears fell on the Third Hokage’s face.

Tsunade naturally knew that the Third Hokage’s injuries couldn’t be healed by normal medical ninjutsu. Her efforts were futile. But even so, Tsunade couldn’t control herself. She frantically injected chakra with healing properties into the Third Hokage’s body.

Looking at her beloved disciple, Tsunade, the Third Hokage’s mind also flashed with the faces of Orochimaru and Jiraiya, and the memories of his time with his three disciples.

A smile appeared on his face. The Third Hokage said, ”The village will be left to you and Jiraiya. I believe you won’t let me down.”

Before his death, the Third Hokage wanted to warn them to be careful of Uchiha Yusuke. But thinking of that young man whom he couldn’t control, he ultimately didn’t say it.

”Why should I make my disciples fight such a troublesome opponent? As long as Konoha can continue to thrive, that’s enough.” With this thought in his mind, the Third Hokage slowly closed his eyes. The life of the great ninja came to an end.

Seeing that the Third Hokage was no longer breathing, Tsunade cried out in grief, tears streaming down her face.

Looking down at her hands, stained with the Third Hokage’s blood, Tsunade thought of her lover, Dan, and her brother, Nawaki, who had died on the battlefield, covered in blood. Her hemophobia flared up again, and she became momentarily distraught.

Noticing that Tsunade seemed to be in a state of mental distress, White Zetsu seized the opportunity to attack the unsuspecting Tsunade. A large number of sharp, thorny tree roots suddenly emerged from the wooden Buddha beneath Tsunade, twisting and extending towards the unsuspecting Tsunade.

If she were to be entangled by these sharp roots and thorns, her body would be instantly shredded.

”Sage Art: Escape Ball!”

Fortunately, Kabuto, who had arrived in time, came to Tsunade’s side and used a Sage Art Wind Release jutsu. A spherical air dome surrounded the three of them.

This air dome could make the people inside float in mid-air and had incredibly strong defensive abilities.

The roots and thorns that came into contact with the air dome were destroyed into powder by the wind-natured chakra infused with Sage Art on the outer layer of the dome.

”Sage Art? This kid has grown to this level?!”

Seeing Kabuto, with his strange markings and unusually powerful jutsu, Obito became secretly vigilant.

Spitting out another large mouthful of blood, Obito discovered that the damage caused by Kabuto was even greater than he had imagined.

”Seize the Nine-Tails now and retreat immediately.” Obito secretly ordered White Zetsu, who was controlling his body.

Receiving the order, White Zetsu immediately used Obito’s eyes to activate Kamui and moved inside the ”Mokuton” that Yamato had created, intending to grab Naruto directly from inside.

But upon entering, he discovered that there was more to this Mokuton. The quick-witted Yamato had secretly created a passage inside. Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota had already escaped through this passage.

”No good! Yamato-senpai is still alone!” Kabuto exclaimed in alarm.

He had moved onto the wooden Buddha to rescue Tsunade and the Third Hokage. At this moment, Yamato, who had almost no ability to resist, was still sitting below.

But Kabuto was too late to support Yamato. Seeing that the Nine-Tails jinchūriki had already escaped, Obito and White Zetsu abandoned the Nine-Tails, captured the defenseless Yamato, and threw him into the Kamui space.

After capturing Yamato, Obito, eager to treat his injuries, immediately left Konoha and returned to his base.

Seeing Yamato being taken away by the enemy, Kabuto couldn’t help but blame himself.

But there was no use in thinking about it now. He immediately comforted the distraught Tsunade. It was then that Kabuto learned that Tsunade, whom he had always admired, suffered from hemophobia, a disease that was extremely fatal to ninjas.

Just then, Naruto, Sasuke, and Yota emerged from a hidden bush nearby. Yamato had used Wood Release to create an underground tunnel to send the three children to the bush.

Seeing that the enemy had retreated, they dared to come out. But seeing the dead Third Hokage and thinking of Yamato, who had tried his best to protect them and was ultimately captured by the enemy, the three children also started to cry.

Kabuto comforted the children. Seeing that Tsunade was still distraught and motionless, he summoned a slug to carry Tsunade. He carried the Third Hokage’s body, took the others, and returned to Konoha Village.

That night, with Kumogakure’s defeat, the war between Konoha, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure was about to end.
