Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Chapter 445: Chapter 288: Contracting Wu Bao

To the people who lived on this land, the Earthquake Beasts were invincible entities.

Their immense, ferocious appearances cloaked them in an aura of invincibility, yet that could never change one simple fact: everything has a weakness.

The more the Earthquake Beasts evolved, the more they proved Luo Sen’s words: a perfect evolution has never existed.

In fact, from the moment the first Earthquake Beast was slain, that mythical aura began to crumble.

Just as at this very moment, Wu Bao, under the effects of Pet Synchronization with Su Zhi, activated Perfect Block and successfully knocked the crystal loose from within the Great Earthquake Beast’s body. It was only then that Wu Bao realized it was nothing special after all—just a slightly larger stone.

Pet Synchronization didn’t grant Wu Bao more Power, but it allowed it to channel its existing Power far more completely.

Research from the Divine Strategy Alliance indicated that most Pet Beasts could only exert about sixty percent of their total Power in combat. But with the boost from a Beast Tamer’s Pet Synchronization, that efficiency could be raised to…

Ninety percent!

“KRRRAAAA!”

Realizing the crystal embedded in its body had fallen out, the Great Earthquake Beast let out a roar of unprecedented fury.

However, to experienced Beast Tamers, this was undoubtedly a sign of weakness. Both Su Zhi and Tuoba Jing keenly sensed the panic hidden beneath its violent rage.

‘Just as I thought. This Earthquake Beast is different from the others; it has human-like thoughts and instincts!’

“Shan Bao! Get Wu Bao out of there!”

“CHIRP CHIRP!”

“Arf!” The moment Shan Bao appeared, Yu Bao yipped something at it.

Meanwhile, Tuoba Jing directed his two Pet Beasts to launch a new wave of attacks.

“Zi Lu, use Azure Wing Burial for a full-coverage strike! Don’t let it use its earthquake attack!”

*At once!*

“Xuan Huang, keep it busy on the ground! Burn the soles of its feet with Giant Fire Pillar!”

“WOOF!”

The two Pet Beasts immediately began a tightly coordinated assault.

They hadn’t been able to communicate through the Beast Taming Space earlier, but having spent years together, their combat synergy was now instinctual. They held their own completely while keeping the Earthquake Beast occupied.

And once Su Zhi and Wu Bao had pulled back, the mysterious force that had been blocking the Beast Taming Space seemed to vanish. The familiar mental link was re-established between them, making their fight all the more effective.

With the Earthquake Beast’s “cheat” disabled, Tuoba Jing showed it the true mettle of a classic Beastmaster.

Fire and Electricity flashed and intertwined. Under the tightly coordinated assault from Zi Lu and Xuan Huang, the mountain-sized Earthquake Beast finally began to sway and stagger.

It could no longer activate Hardening, Immortal True Gold, or any of its other Skills. That crystal hidden inside its body truly seemed to be its Achilles’ heel.

Without those Skills, the Earthquake Beast’s entire combat strategy collapsed. Now, it was just an enormous monster, devoid of any “miraculous” power.

Its human-like thoughts and instincts had, in turn, become its weakness… Unlike other Earthquake Beasts, it could feel fear, and that fear made it panic!

“KRRRAAAA!”

After a moment of desperately fending off the attacks, the Earthquake Beast staggered back a few steps to create some distance. Though it clearly had no eyes, it rotated its head slightly, as if scanning the area.

‘Tuoba Jing’s two Pet Beasts alone are already a handful,’ the creature thought. ‘And Su Zhi’s pets are over there, recovering their strength. I know those three are the real heavy-hitters. If they join the fight again, I’m dead for sure.’

It seemed to have reached a decision. The Earthquake Beast paused for a moment, as if it had simply powered down.

A few seconds later, it let out a sudden, crazed howl and began charging south toward the village with heavy strides.

Tuoba Jing’s eyes widened. “Changning Village is that way! The beast is trying to take everyone down with it!”

“But it was just terrified of us a moment ago…” Su Zhi muttered, a sudden realization dawning on him.

In any case, the priority was to stop it!

If it reached another village, it could cause immense destruction with its sheer size, even without using its earthquake attack!

The Pet Beasts unleashed their strongest skills.

Zi Lu unleashed Azure Wing Burial, the Thunderbolt War Falcon’s Strongest Output Skill. Yet, the violent lightning and raging winds struck the Earthquake Beast like a gale passing over a mountain, having no effect whatsoever.

Xuan Huang caught up to the monster and, empowered by the Yanhuang Blessing, unleashed Rock-Breaking Teeth, Giant Fire Pillar, and every other Output Skill it had mastered. While the attacks certainly dealt impressive damage, against the beast’s colossal frame, it was just a drop in the bucket.

With no time to fully recover, Su Zhi’s three Pet Beasts quickly joined the effort to intercept the monster.

Shan Bao scrambled onto the Earthquake Beast’s head and tried to use Super Heavy Gold Fall, adding weight to slow it down. Meanwhile, Wu Bao looked for a point of leverage, trying to topple the beast as it had before.

However, neither of their efforts produced the desired effect.

“It’s not working! It’s completely useless!” Su Zhi’s heart leaped into his throat.

The Earthquake Beast was simply too massive; conventional tactics were useless. Forget Shan Bao’s and Wu Bao’s attacks—even if Yu Bao unleashed Star Meteor Burst, it would be nearly impossible to stop the creature’s charge.

This only confirmed Su Zhi’s suspicions.

This Earthquake Beast was merely a vessel, a container for some other entity. The intelligence they had just fought was the “agent” controlling it from behind the scenes, which was why it behaved so differently from a normal Earthquake Beast.

And apparently, its controller was a sore loser. After taking a beating, they had simply rage-quit, leaving the Earthquake Beast on autopilot.

The Earthquake Beast was now like a runaway train. No matter how many times they attacked it, they couldn’t stop it from plowing forward…
