Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Chapter 444: Chapter 287: Wu Bao’s Pet Synchronization

Wu Bao: “???”

‘What is he doing? Abusing his power for personal revenge??’

Yu Bao: “Woof.”

‘How could I do something like that? It’s just that moving targets are hard to hit. So, to improve my accuracy, a small sacrifice has to be made.’

Wu Bao: “#@¥%!”

“Klara!”

The Earthquake Beast’s low roar came from behind. Wu Bao turned to see its abyssal maw, his eyes widening in terror.

SWOOSH—

A searing Golden Light tore through the field of vision, piercing the heavy shadow cast by the Earthquake Beast.

After accelerating along the electromagnetic rail, Shan Bao struck the Earthquake Beast. It punched through the beast’s Hardening-enhanced surface without any suspense, leaving a large, deep wound in its body.

This single cannon blast nearly penetrated straight through the more than ten-meter-thick Earthquake Beast!

Tuoba Jing was left dumbfounded by the sight.

“The future generation’s Beast Taming Realm… they have such powerful Skills?”

‘Nope, this must be another one of Yu Bao’s harebrained ideas…’ Su Zhi’s mouth fell open, equally at a loss for words.

Although as a Beast Tamer he had some expectation of its power, he never imagined the effect would be so overwhelmingly destructive…

“Chirp?” Just then, Shan Bao, still embedded in the Earthquake Beast’s body, reacted.

‘The internal structure of this Earthquake Beast seems unusual.’ She could clearly feel some strange crystals nearby, a stark contrast to the Earthquake Beast’s otherwise mud-like body.

Su Zhi’s eyes lit up.

His guess had been correct. The Earthquake Beast’s gigantification came at the cost of developing a more complex and fragile internal structure. To protect this structure, the beast had done everything it could to increase its Defense Power.

The inability to use the Beast Taming Space was likely related to the function of these crystals!

“Seize this chance and destroy them!”

“Klara!” The Earthquake Beast let out an enraged shriek, frantically thrashing its mountain-sized body in an attempt to force Shan Bao out.

However, its colossal size was both its greatest strength and its greatest weakness.

Against a normal-sized Earthquake Beast, Shan Bao might not have had a chance to get inside. But now that it was enormous, Shan Bao could move around with ease, like a flea.

Despite this, the task remained daunting.

The window of opportunity for the Pet Beasts was actually very brief.

Yu Bao’s Electromagnetic Cannon had dealt significant damage, but the Earthquake Beast’s regenerative ability was equally terrifying; a few seconds was all it needed to heal. Inside the rapidly closing wound, Shan Bao’s room to attack was extremely limited.

“Chirp!” Shan Bao’s slightly panicked voice came from within the Earthquake Beast.

‘These things are surprisingly tough! I can’t break them!’

Su Zhi’s heart was in his throat again.

The Earthquake Beast’s wound would heal soon. If they didn’t act quickly, Shan Bao would be sealed inside its body!

“Woof!” Yu Bao reacted instantly.

A miraculous scene unfolded: the Earthquake Beast’s wound stopped healing. Yu Bao was manipulating the directional flow of the Earth and Gold Element Energy, forcibly holding the wound open.

The window of opportunity, which was about to close, was now reopened!

Yu Bao gritted his teeth, a strained look in his eyes.

Just maintaining this stalemate required his full effort, leaving him no energy to spare for a sneak attack.

This wasn’t a technical feat; on the contrary, it was a huge drain on stamina and concentration—neither of which was Yu Bao’s strong suit.

But he had to hold on! For the final victory!

“Klara!” Realizing it couldn’t do anything about the little thing inside its body, the enraged Earthquake Beast changed its target, aiming its massive maw at the person and Pet Beast on the ground.

Its giant legs stamped the ground alternately as it charged toward them with a roar.

Su Zhi’s heart leaped into his throat. He was about to move Yu Bao to safety when another yellow shadow flashed past his eyes, steadily making its way to the other side of the Earthquake Beast.

At the same time, several Giant Fire Pillars erupted from the ground, striking the soles of the Earthquake Beast’s feet.

It was Xuan Huang.

“Klara!” Provoked like this, the Earthquake Beast changed its target again, now chasing after Xuan Huang.

It possessed rudimentary instincts and intelligence, but thankfully, not much of either.

“Leave the distraction to Xuan Huang and Zi Lu. Young friend, focus on the enemy!” Tuoba Jing said, nodding at Su Zhi.

“Thank you, Senior. I’ll do my best!” Su Zhi replied with a fist-and-palm salute, but his brow remained furrowed.

Shan Bao lacked the power to destroy the crystals, and Yu Bao couldn’t be spared from his struggle with the Earthquake Beast. Both of his contracted Pet Beasts were unable to change the tide of battle…

‘No, that’s not necessarily true.’

Su Zhi pondered for a moment, then his gaze fell upon Wu Bao, who was waiting on standby not far away.

Noticing Su Zhi’s gaze, Wu Bao immediately twitched its antennae.

“Young friend Su Zhi, are you sure you want to do this?”

Seemingly guessing his intentions, Tuoba Jing reminded him, “This Black Fighting Emperor has not formally contracted with you. You won’t be able to communicate with it at will, nor can you recall it to the Beast Taming Space if it’s in danger!”

Su Zhi replied calmly, “Facing this Earthquake Beast right now, does it make a difference whether we have a contract or not?”

Tuoba Jing paused, as if he wanted to argue, but his expression softened into a smile.

“The young friend speaks the truth. It is I who am ashamed of my own shortsightedness.”

“Right. Wu Bao, let’s go!”

“Hooo!”

Timing it to the exact moment the Earthquake Beast completed an attack, Wu Bao launched itself forward, its six legs pushing off the ground.

The Earthquake Beast quickly noticed this overconfident Black Fighting Emperor and raised a giant foot to stomp it, but it unexpectedly hit empty ground. Wu Bao had activated its shrinking Doubling, and in a flash of golden light, it was directly teleported inside the Earthquake Beast by Shan Bao’s Flash Gold Teleportation.

This was a feint from the start, intended to bait the Earthquake Beast into an attack and exploit its recovery frames.

Hearing the commotion outside, Shan Bao was already prepared to receive it.

“Chirp!”

“Hooo!”

Through the wound left by the Electromagnetic Cannon, the voices of Shan Bao and Wu Bao could be faintly heard from within the Earthquake Beast.

Wu Bao was in position!

“Try and see if you can vibrate those Crystal Stones loose!” Su Zhi shouted from the ground.

“Hooo!” Wu Bao nodded vigorously. Its body instantly returned to its normal size, forcibly expanding the space around it. At the same time, its carapace turned a lustrous black once more—Perfect Block, activated!

D-VMMMMMM

A teeth-grating vibrational sound immediately erupted from around Wu Bao. Even though the source was inside the Earthquake Beast, the noise was exceptionally piercing in the quiet night sky.

“Klara! Klara!” The Earthquake Beast began to charge about madly, no longer bothering to chase Xuan Huang and Zi Lu.

A look of delight appeared on Tuoba Jing’s face. “It’s really working!”

But Su Zhi frowned. “No, it’s not that simple.”

Although they weren’t contracted, he could sense that Wu Bao was not having an easy time; it was struggling immensely.

Wu Bao’s Perfect Block was indeed having a significant effect on those crystals, but it wasn’t enough to destroy them completely.

‘If only I could enter the Pet Synchronization state, just like during the city league finals.’

‘Back then, because of Lilith’s Skills, I couldn’t perceive Yu Bao, just like how I can’t perceive the uncontracted Wu Bao now…’

Su Zhi suddenly froze for a moment.

‘Could I try to establish a Pet Synchronization link with Wu Bao, just like I did back then?’

‘Theoretically, it’s impossible. Wu Bao and I don’t have a contract…’

‘But who cares about theory?’

‘It’s a desperate situation, so it calls for a desperate remedy!’

·

Inside the Earthquake Beast, Wu Bao had just activated Perfect Block again and was now lying on the ground, panting.

Shan Bao watched it with concern from the side. If things went south, she would immediately use Flash Gold Teleportation to get Wu Bao out of there.

“Hooo…”

Wu Bao shook its head.

‘I don’t want to betray my Beast Tamer’s trust.’

‘Even though Su Zhi isn’t by my side, even though I can’t hear his commands, I don’t want to give up…’

“Wu Bao, can you hear my voice?”

The familiar voice suddenly rang in its mind out of nowhere.

Wu Bao froze.

“…Hooo?”

Then, it discovered that a strange new energy seemed to be flowing into its body.

Although it didn’t directly grant it greater combat power, it filled it with an unprecedented sense of clarity, as if any difficulty or obstacle could now be shattered.

This feeling—

It was Pet Synchronization!

“It actually worked…” Su Zhi’s voice was also ecstatic.

But they both knew this was no time to be complacent.

“Wu Bao, let’s go!”

“Hooo!”

Both Wu Bao and Su Zhi closed their eyes. In that instant, the Beast Tamer and the Pet Beast seemed to become one.

Just like in their countless training sessions, the Energy within them contracted, then released.

Per-fect Block!

DVMMMMM—

CRACK…

A deafening vibrational sound echoed through the night sky, faintly interspersed with the weak but crisp sound of shattering.
