Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

This was a time for battle.

The two members of the Flying Shadow Alliance didn’t waste time catching up, instead commanding their respective Pet Beasts to fight.

”Black Wood! Earth-Shaking Impact! Keep Deep Blue Armor busy!”

”MOO!” Relying on its brutish power, Black Wood drove Deep Blue Armor back, pinning it directly against a tree.

With a loud CRACK, the thick tree—one that would take two people to wrap their arms around—snapped in two on the spot.

Deep Blue Armor used its excellent force-dispersal techniques to negate most of the impact, but it was still struggling immensely under the Stone Armor Rhinoceros’s savage assault. It no longer had the energy to spare for Yu Bao.

The dark-skinned boy was dumbfounded.

’Victory was in the bag, so how did such a heavyweight pop out of nowhere?’

’What was even more ridiculous was that the Stone Armor Rhinoceros clearly didn’t have a high Real-time Energy Value, yet his Deep Blue Armor was getting completely suppressed?’

’But no need to panic. He still controlled the air. As long as Leo and the Cyan Feathered Falcon kept up their attack, everything would be fine...’

”Yu Bao, take to the sky! Get rid of those two annoying flies!”

”WOOF!”

Then, as the dark-skinned boy stared on in existential disbelief, Yu Bao activated his Sand Manipulation Technique to ascend, instantly zipping between the two Flying Pet Beasts.

Leo & Cyan Feathered Falcon: ”???”

Yu Bao revealed his signature smile and greeted the two utterly confused bird-bros:

⌓‿⌓

Hello, I’m the individual trainee Yu Bao, who has been practicing flying for two and a half weeks. My hobbies are singing, dancing, rap, and contemplating philosophy!

Next up, please enjoy my performance—the Lethal Beat-down!

”WHOOSH—”

”GAAAAH!!!”

”OOOOOH!!!”

A flurry of sand erupted in midair, followed by two bloodcurdling shrieks from above.

When the sand cleared, Leo and the Cyan Feathered Falcon crashed to the ground like downed airplanes, unable to get back up.

The Deep Blue Armor, still wrestling with Black Wood, twisted its head and saw Yu Bao’s ”kind” smile behind it. Its insectoid body trembled.

”Sss-ha~”

’Well, well, well, if it isn’t Deep Blue Armor?’

Deep Blue Armor: ”QAQ”

’I’m sorry, I admit I was a little loud just now...’

”BOOM!”

Another Sandstorm blasted out, striking Deep Blue Armor’s unmentionable excretory orifice with pinpoint accuracy.

Deep Blue Armor let out a wail, its limbs suddenly going limp and losing all strength. Black Wood pressed its advantage, gave a mighty heave, and successfully sent Deep Blue Armor flying.

”WHOOSH————”

With a satisfying whoosh, Deep Blue Armor traced a graceful parabola across the sky and vanished from sight.

The dark-skinned boy sat dazedly on the ground, his brain failing to process.

’Why is his Sandstorm so ferocious... Why can a Yu Dian Dog fly... What the hell am I even fighting against...’

Two large shadows fell over him.

Looking at the ”kindly” gazes of Su Zhi and Xu Jianzhi, the dark-skinned young man managed a smile that was uglier than a crying face.

”Uh, I was actually just trying to have some fun with you two...”

”AWOO! AWOOOO!”

·

After a series of screams straight out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon,

[Assignable Attribute Points... 0.08]

Su Zhi and Xu Jianzhi sat on the dark-skinned young man, bumping fists.

Su Zhi grinned. ”Thanks for drawing your sword to help!”

”We’re in the same summer camp. Helping each other out is what we’re supposed to do!”

Xu Jianzhi gave a hearty laugh, then stood up and bowed deeply.

”I was in the wrong the day before yesterday. You taught me that there’s always someone better out there. I apologize to you!”

”Alright, I accept.”

Su Zhi didn’t play coy; he had been genuinely angry at the time.

But one thing was one thing. Xu Jianzhi had stepped in and helped him out of a jam today. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to get away so quickly.

Since the other party was willing to apologize, Su Zhi was willing to accept. It was always better to have one more friend than one more enemy.

Xu Jianzhi let out a long sigh of relief and sat back down on the dark-skinned young man.

”Where are you planning to go next? I want to find some Gold Element resources, but I haven’t had any luck,” he said, looking at Su Zhi.

Su Zhi asked curiously, ”Isn’t your Stone Armor Rhinoceros an Earth Element type? Why are you looking for Gold Element resources?”

”I have a classmate who’s in the Boya Alliance summer camp. Their Secret Realm happens to have a lot of Earth Element, but his contracted Pet Beast is a Gold Element one.

”So we made a deal. I’ll look for Gold Element resources in the Land of Flash Gold, and he’ll look for more Earth Element resources, and then we’ll trade.”

”I see,” Su Zhi said, realization dawning on him.

”But my luck is just terrible... The Land of Flash Gold mainly produces Gold Element resources, but look at what I’ve found all morning.”

Xu Jianzhi opened his backpack with a frustrated look.

Su Zhi’s eyes went wide: the backpack was stuffed full of various Earth and Wood Element resources!

’Finding so many Earth and Wood Element resources in a Secret Realm rich with Gold Element resources... and you call that bad luck?’

’This is an Emperor O, okay?!’

Su Zhi’s eyes lit up. He opened his own backpack. ”How about we trade first?”

”Sure!” Seeing Su Zhi’s backpack full of Gold Element resources, Xu Jianzhi rubbed his hands together in excitement.

Just then, Yu Bao raised a paw, indicating he had something to say...

Two minutes later, the two sides had finished negotiating and completed the trade.

Su Zhi traded two Tier Two Gold Element resources and four Tier One Gold Element resources for Xu Jianzhi’s two Tier Two Earth Element resources and one Tier Two Wood Element resource.

One Brown Relics and one Thick Earth Core—both were great items that Yu Bao could use!

The other Tier Two Wood Element resource, the Birch Concentration, was also quite helpful for Wood Element Pet Beasts, as it could promote their understanding of plant-type Skills.

”Pleasure doing business with you!”

After the trade, both sides shook hands excitedly, each feeling like they had gotten the better end of the deal.

Actually, there were two more Tier Two Gold Element resources, but Yu Bao insisted on keeping them, so Su Zhi didn’t trade them. Otherwise, he could have gotten another Earth Element resource.

”We’re getting ready to leave. We’re planning to head out of the forest and check out the plains. Coming with?”

Xu Jianzhi put away the resources and got up from on top of the dark-skinned young man.

Su Zhi was about to agree when his gaze sharpened, focusing on a fallen leaf glinting with Golden Light not far away.

A moment later, he smiled and shook his head. ”You guys go on ahead. I still have something to do!”

”Alright, see ya!”

”Bye!”

Watching Xu Jianzhi leave, Su Zhi also stood up.

Having been sat on for a while, the dark-skinned young man tried to get up quietly, but after meeting Su Zhi’s ”kind” gaze, he obediently lay back down.

”I... I was just changing positions...”

”Did I say you could?”

”...” The dark-skinned young man didn’t dare to speak and remained motionless.

Su Zhi snapped his fingers, and Yu Bao immediately unleashed a Sandstorm.

The dark-skinned young man squeezed his eyes shut in fear. Only after a good while did he realize the Sandstorm was attacking upward and hadn’t been aimed at him.

And when he opened his eyes, another Yu Bao was standing before him.

Su Zhi smiled gently. ”Until the Secret Realm closes, I’ll have my Pet Beast’s Stand-In watch over you. If you dare get up on your own, then you’ll never have to get up again.”

”Th-then what about going to the bathroom...”

”Hold it.”

With that said, Su Zhi ignored him and walked deeper into the jungle with Yu Bao.

·

The Death Secret Realm, devoid of Pet Beasts, was exceptionally quiet. A gentle breeze rustled the fallen leaves, making a soft rustling sound.

”Woof woof,” Yu Bao yipped, turning its head to look at Su Zhi.

”Mm.”

Su Zhi gave Yu Bao a ”follow my lead” look.

Yu Bao nodded, returning an intelligent gaze of its own.

The man and his pet continued forward, the rustle of crushed Flash Gold leaves echoing through the woods.

Then—

After walking ten steps in unison, the Envoy’s Pet and master stopped simultaneously.

An abrupt ”CRUNCH” of a breaking leaf rang out.

The master-pet duo turned around in sync and came face-to-face with the source of the sound—

[Pet Beast: Flash Gold Sparrow (Wild)

Attribute: Gold Element, Space Element

Race: Low Level Elite

Real-time Energy Value: 600]

It was a small golden bird with shimmering feathers. One of its wings was slightly disheveled, and its button-like black eyes blinked nervously.

One of its little feet was still suspended in midair, awkwardly frozen in place.

”Sss-ha~” Yu Bao wagged its tail and ran toward her, all Bling Bling.

The Flash Gold Sparrow was so scared it jumped into the air, pedaled twice on nothing, and turned to flee the moment it landed. Its two short legs went patter-patter-patter, creating a crisp melody on the golden leaves.

’I should be far enough away, right?’

The Flash Gold Sparrow timidly glanced back...

...only to meet Yu Bao’s harmless-looking smile—

⌓‿⌓

’Hi there~’

Yu Bao, after all, had four legs. They were short legs, to be sure, but they were still longer than a bird’s.

”QAQ CHIRP!!!”

The Flash Gold Sparrow flapped in place, terrified, sending glittering golden feathers fluttering everywhere.

Just as Yu Bao was about to catch it, the sparrow suddenly transformed into a twinkling speck of light and vanished with a POP.

A moment later, a tiny, inconspicuous speck of light flashed amidst the fallen leaves more than ten meters away. The Flash Gold Sparrow’s light was strikingly similar to the glint of the leaves, making it almost impossible to spot without careful observation.

The Flash Gold Sparrow’s Racial Skill, a Gold and Space Element High Level Elite Skill—Flash Gold Teleportation—could transport objects within a certain range to a location where metal was present.

Even a Tier One Flash Gold Teleportation was enough for a Flash Gold Sparrow to ”transport” itself.

Having used Flash Gold Teleportation to escape, the Flash Gold Sparrow didn’t get up right away. Instead, it hid in a pile of fallen leaves and observed cautiously.

Seeing Yu Bao frozen in the distance as if its brain had stopped working, the Flash Gold Sparrow finally breathed a sigh of relief and rustled its way out of the leaves.

’Gotta escape quietly, no making a sound...’

Then she turned a corner and found love, running smack into the arms of a waiting Yu Bao, who had been lying in ambush.

”QAQ?!”

The Flash Gold Sparrow looked frantically into the distance, only to see the Yu Bao that had been chasing her dissolve into a cloud of sand with a WHOOSH.

At that moment, Su Zhi also hurried over from a distance, completely boxing in the Flash Gold Sparrow with Yu Bao.

”Incredible, Yu Bao! I only knew the teleportation range was roughly a circle, but I didn’t expect you to camp the exact spot!” Su Zhi said, surprised and delighted as he rubbed Yu Bao’s head.

Yu Bao scratched its head in embarrassment.

’He just figured it might be here and decided to camp it. He didn’t expect the little bird to really deliver itself to his doorstep.’

The man and his pet looked at the Flash Gold Sparrow in unison.

Surrounded, the Flash Gold Sparrow shivered in the middle, small, pitiful, and helpless.

This terrifying upright ape, Su Zhi, scared her into not daring to move.

Yu Bao was still just a little puppy that hadn’t fully grown, but relative to the Flash Gold Sparrow, it was as huge and imposing as a giant.

And she had just run for so long and used Flash Gold Teleportation once, so she had no stamina or Energy left...

Su Zhi suddenly reached out and gently took hold of her.

The Flash Gold Sparrow trembled nonstop, tucking its head under its wing and feeling the rush of air as it was lifted up.

’Mommy! I’m gonna be eaten!’

However, the terrifying upright ape didn’t seem to be eating her. Instead, he gently pulled aside her left wing.

The Flash Gold Sparrow timidly raised its head, only to see Su Zhi carefully pinching one of its feathers between his fingers, his gaze focused.

”No wonder she wasn’t flying, she’s injured here... Yu Bao! Bring the backpack over, there’s healing ointment inside!”

”Woof!”
