Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”You mean Selena? Yeah, she’s a beast.”

Remembering the figure with long, ice-blue hair, the epitome of manliness, Shang Duantie, nodded in agreement.

”Her Main Pet is almost Four-star, right? Tsk tsk, I bet not many Vice Alliance leaders can take her on now.”

”A Quasi-Four-star is still a far cry from a true Four-star. You can’t lump them together.”

Chopper shook his head leisurely and took a sip of his milk tea. ”But Xiaosai is indeed very strong. Even though she only has two combat-ready Pet Beasts right now, she still ranks near the top among the Vice Alliance leaders. If she can advance to the Grandmaster Level of Beast Tamer in the future, it’s very likely she’ll take over as the Alliance Leader.”

Shang Duantie suddenly looked at Chopper with interest. ”Speaking of which, I heard she finally contracted her third pet not long ago? Aren’t the third pets of people from her cohort nearly Two-star by now?”

”Her Beast Taming Talent is a bit special. Nothing to be done about it.” Chopper spread his hands.

”Xiaosai’s third pet is a Cold Realm Ice Spine. Its innate talent is excellent, capable of reaching at least the Three-star level. It’s just that its personality is a bit arrogant. It often slacked off during training and was prone to underestimating opponents in battle.”

Shang Duantie nodded thoughtfully. ”Then it definitely needs some strict disciplining. Pride comes before a fall, unless you’re as strong as me.”

”However—”

Chopper changed the subject. ”But two weeks ago, after Xiaosai came back from Huai City, that Cold Realm Ice Spine suddenly became much more grounded.”

”It completes its daily training quota on time, is cautious and focused during every sparring match, and even plays it excessively safe—it’s like a completely different Pet Beast.”

”I even suspected for a while that the Cold Realm Ice Spine ran into a master pretending to be weak and got its spirit broken... but in a place like Huai City, who could possibly break the spirit of Xiaosai’s third pet?”

Shang Duantie mused, ”Maybe it was a high schooler from the city tournament? Wasn’t she a guest commentator for the TV broadcast? It’d be normal for her to use her third pet to spar with the kids.”

”Impossible. Absolutely impossible.”

Chopper shook his head decisively.

”If Xiaosai could lose to a high schooler, I’ll do a handstand in a dress and wash my feet.”

As they were talking, a figure with long, ice-blue hair suddenly caught their attention—it was Selena.

But what drew their eyes even more was the person following behind Selena... a sunny, cheerful-looking young man.

The two of them fell silent for a moment.

Shang Duantie raised an eyebrow. ”Haven’t seen her in two days. Did she get herself a boy toy?”

”Doesn’t seem like it... Xiaosai isn’t interested in the ’puppy dog’ type...”

Chopper watched the two of them walk onto the fighting ring below, pondering with his chin in his hand.

”Looks like a high schooler from the summer camp? Xiaosai probably sees potential in him and brought him over for a sparring match. Other people have done that before.”

”Then this high schooler is in for it. Getting noticed by your future Vice Alliance leader! Tsk tsk... I really want to have a match with him and see what he’s made of!”

Shang Duantie licked his lips. ”Old Qiao, how long do you think he’ll last?”

”About five minutes.”

Chopper scanned Yu Bao and made a rough assessment.

”His Energy Value isn’t low; he’s definitely in the top tier for a first-year high schooler. But he’s still inferior to Xiaosai’s Cold Realm Ice Spine.”

”Besides that, the Cold Realm Ice Spine’s tactics, techniques, and the sheer versatility of its Skills are on a completely different level from what a fairly talented high schooler can manage.”

”Lasting five minutes is already a very optimistic prediction.”

”Alright, I’ll bet on five minutes and one second. Loser pays the arena fee.”

’Huh? Wait, what arena fee? I never agreed to spar with you later...’ Seeing the triumphant look on Shang Duantie’s face, Chopper resignedly took a sip of his milk tea.

’From roommate to Alliance Leader, he really hasn’t changed a bit.’

WHOOSH!

On the ring, Xue Ao rotated the ice spines orbiting its body toward Yu Bao, its voice filled with roaring battle intent—

[Pet Beast: Xue Ao (Cold Realm Ice Spine)

Attribute: Ice Element

Race: Middle Elite Race

Real-time Energy Value: 1752]

After his crushing defeat at the hands of Yu Bao, Xue Ao engaged in deep self-reflection and review. From that day on, he pushed himself to the absolute limit to improve, not wasting a single second, becoming a paragon of icy self-discipline.

He completed all his training at 1.5 times the original intensity; if he couldn’t finish, he wasn’t allowed to rest in the freezer! Even during mealtimes, he would practice his chilling abilities by making ice cream for Selena.

In sparring matches, he took the ”survivalist” approach to the extreme, advancing cautiously and securing every step. If he could finish an opponent in two moves, he would never rush to do it in one. He absolutely would not use his ultimate move unless the opponent was on the brink of death.

As the saying goes, fortunes change, so don’t bully a poor block of ice.

Now, he was terrifyingly powerful and couldn’t be compared to his former self.

And the reason he had trained so hard was precisely to defeat that doggo—Yu Bao!

Su Zhi instructed, ”Yu Bao, Xue Ao has gotten stronger in every aspect. This match will be even harder to win. But relax, we’re not here just for the victory anyway.”

”Hahh.”

Yu Bao nodded to show he understood, then looked at his senior opponent and gave a smile that was both graceful and poised.

⌓‿⌓

’Don’t worry, senior, I’ll do my best!’

Xue Ao’s fists clenched, though he had no fists.

’As expected of the rising star who defeated me once. Even seeing that smile a second time still makes my blood pressure skyrocket.’

’You won’t be so lucky this time!’

DING!

The bell rang. Xue Ao shot into the air, blue light flowing up and down its body.

WHOOSH—

Snow suddenly began to swirl across the ring. Despite it being an indoor venue, a massive blizzard instantly enveloped the stage, making it feel like a true arctic tundra and causing many Alliance Members from nearby rings to turn and watch.

An Ice Element High Level Extraordinary Skill, Blizzard!

Shang Duantie clicked his tongue and nodded. ”Not bad! The casting speed of that Blizzard is surprisingly fast, almost as fast as some One-star Pet Beasts.”

”No, the Blizzard is just the ’appetizer.’ The Frost Storm that comes next is the ’main course.’”
