Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”I accept.”

·

「Two minutes later, at the Flying Shadow Alliance Battle Hall.」

Selena unlocked an empty arena and walked up to the referee’s stand, a look of resignation on her cold, refined face.

The other summer camp members followed them into the hall, excitedly gathering to watch—after all, they were free to do as they pleased during non-activity hours.

”They’re really going to fight!”

”It felt like Su Zhi was being very restrained, but Xu Jianzhi just wouldn’t let it go... Do they have some kind of grudge?”

”I don’t know. Whatever beef they have, it’s got nothing to do with us.”

”Xu Jianzhi’s Pet Beast is a Stone Armor Rhinoceros! Its Defense Power is super high. I don’t think Su Zhi’s little mutt stands much of a chance...”

No one cared who was right or who started it. They just wanted to see a bloodbath.

Overall, the campers were leaning toward Xu Jianzhi winning. The Stone Armor Rhinoceros, nearly two meters tall with an explosive sense of Power, was undeniably intimidating. In contrast, the tiny Yu Bao seemed rather frail...

The atmosphere in the arena was thick with tension.

Although it was called an ”exchange,” neither side shook hands. The two Pet Beasts stared each other down, already locked in a silent contest of wills.

”Standard rules. Stop when a victor is clear.”

Selena said curtly, her gaze falling on the centerline.

”Begin.”

WHOOSH—

The instant Selena said ”Begin,” crimson markings suddenly lit up on Xu Jianzhi’s face. His pupils turned the same shade of red, and his hair stood on end!

At the same time, crimson markings also covered the body of the Stone Armor Rhinoceros, Black Wood. Its dark brown eyes turned the same shade of red as Xu Jianzhi’s!

Beast Taming Talent: Battle Frenzy.

Effect: Overdraws the Pet Beast’s energy and stamina in advance, granting the Pet Beast a massive boost in all attributes for a short period.

Under the enhancement of Xu Jianzhi’s Battle Frenzy, all of Black Wood’s abilities doubled, allowing it to briefly reach a minor peak.

In its current state, it could even hold its own against a One-star Pet Beast!

”Black Wood! Earth Force Field! Earth-Shaking Impact!”

”BELLOW!”

Black Wood roared, lifting its forelegs before slamming them back down. The moment its feet hit the ground, dark yellow ripples spread outward, sending a shockwave across the entire arena!

Earth High Level Extraordinary Skill, Earth-Shaking Impact. Massive Pet Beasts could often use this move to create a wide-area attack, making it impossible for agile opponents to dodge!

”Holy crap! What a powerful Earth-Shaking Impact! Not even a One-star Stone Armor Rhinoceros is that strong, right?”

”It must be Xu Jianzhi’s Beast Taming Talent! Look at the Stone Armor Rhinoceros, it’s on fire right now! It’s probably even stronger than a typical One-star Pet Beast!”

”Damn, how is he supposed to fight this? It’s impossible...”

The moment Earth-Shaking Impact was unleashed, a cheer erupted from the spectating campers.

Serving as the referee, Selena’s eyes glinted.

The Stone Armor Rhinoceros itself was nothing special, but this camper named Xu Jianzhi had a very good Beast Taming Talent. With proper training in the future, he could be molded into a pillar of strength.

’But... you challenged Su Zhi of all people...’

WHOOSH—

Faced with the powerful approaching shockwave, Yu Bao was remarkably calm.

A pale yellow Light Array materialized beneath Yu Bao, and a Yellow Earth Wall immediately shot up to lift it, helping it dodge the shockwave on the ground.

”BELLOW!”

Black Wood charged toward Yu Bao without stopping, its assault not slowing in the slightest.

Battle Frenzy not only strengthened a Pet Beast’s Attributes but also filled it with a ferocious will to fight. Right now, Black Wood had only one thing on its mind—pummeling Yu Bao into a pulp!

’Let’s see you keep that stupid smirk on your face after this! I’ll wipe it right off!’

”Yu Bao, don’t get into a brawl.” Sensing that Yu Bao was preparing to form a Furious Sand Blade and Quicksand Shield to clash head-on, Su Zhi reminded it in a low voice.

”Going head-to-head isn’t the smart choice. When the enemy advances, we retreat. When the enemy halts, we harass. Stay calm, maneuver, and look for an opening!”

Yu Bao instantly understood and retracted its Furious Sand Blade.

The moment Black Wood closed in, Yu Bao’s body dissolved into a swirl of dust and zipped behind it.

Desert Concealment, activated!

At the same time, the dust converged, forming an incredibly sharp Battle Saber that slashed viciously at Black Wood’s back.

’Eat my Furious Sand Blade!’

PSH! The Furious Sand Blade cut a gash into Black Wood’s back, but it failed to penetrate any deeper.

Wincing in pain, Black Wood quickly spun around and charged at Yu Bao again.

Yu Bao used Desert Concealment once more to evade the attack...

’Not bad.’

Selena turned her gaze to the focused Su Zhi, a hint of approval showing in her light purple eyes.

She had just observed Yu Bao subconsciously preparing for a Strong Attack, only to change tactics in an instant.

Although Su Zhi had emotionally accepted the Pet Beast Battle, he was terrifyingly calm during the fight itself.

The spectating campers stared at the tense arena, completely dumbfounded.

’So a Yellow Earth Wall can be used like that...’

’So Desert Concealment can be so slick...’

’And what was that skill that looked like a blade...’

’Wait! Isn’t it a Yu Dian Dog?’

’Why is its style so bizarre?!’

”Tsk.” On the platform, however, Su Zhi frowned slightly.

The situation wasn’t going as he’d expected. Black Wood’s assault was incredibly fierce and relentless, and it didn’t seem to care about being counterattacked. It was difficult for Yu Bao to break Black Wood’s offensive rhythm with a defensive counter-strategy.

Black Wood wasn’t afraid of Yu Bao’s Furious Sand Blade, but Yu Bao had to dodge Black Wood’s charges.

Su Zhi was reminded of Liu Junpo’s headstrong Wanzi.

But unlike Wanzi, it wasn’t that Black Wood couldn’t be hurt; it was more like it was in a state where it ignored pain. ’Could this be Xu Jianzhi’s Beast Taming Talent?’

”Hahahaha! Feeling helpless, aren’t you?!”

Seeing the advantage was his, Xu Jianzhi on the opposite side of the field couldn’t help but roar with laughter. ”My talent is Battle Frenzy! It gives my Pet Beast an extremely powerful boost for a short time. Forget your mutt, I can even take on a One-star Pet Beast!”

Su Zhi was silent for a moment.

Then, he suddenly smiled as if conceding, ”Yeah, that’s pretty impressive.”

’What do you mean, ”pretty impressive”?!’

Xu Jianzhi’s fists clenched. He commanded Black Wood to unleash an even more ferocious combination of Skills.

Earth-Shaking Impact made the entire arena tremble! The brutish charges rendered all of Yu Bao’s defenses and counters pale and powerless!

’This is the final blow. Yu Bao will be—’

And then, Xu Jianzhi was stunned. Black Wood was stunned. And the spectating campers were all stunned.

Yu Bao rode a current of Suspended Sand straight up, coming to a leisurely stop in mid-air.

”Woof.”

Yu Bao stuck its tongue out obediently at Black Wood below.

’I’m brave enough to admit I’m a noob. You’re strong, I can’t beat you. I’m just gonna take a break for a bit.’

”BELLOW?!” Black Wood looked utterly shocked, then its nostrils flared with rage.

’Take a break, my ass!’

Selena glanced around. The rubbernecking campers were all gawking, and across the arena, Xu Jianzhi was also completely bewildered.

The Cold and Refined Beauty’s lips curled into a slightly smug smile.

’Finally, I’m not the only one who’s been shocked~’

As Xu Jianzhi snapped out of it, his thigh tensed and he inwardly cried out in alarm, but it was too late.

Battle Frenzy could certainly boost a Pet Beast and keep its fighting spirit high, but its side effect was also quite obvious: once that period of being a ”real man” was over, the Pet Beast would instantly collapse!

Yu Bao’s evasive maneuver had perfectly broken Black Wood’s combat rhythm, interrupting Battle Frenzy!

Black Wood’s weak voice echoed from the Beast Taming Space: ”Bellow...”

’I feel... completely drained...’

Xu Jianzhi grew anxious. ”No! Hold on a little longer!”

”Bellow...”

”Stay with me! Hey! Don’t fall asleep, don’t...”

The smugness and excitement on Xu Jianzhi’s face vanished completely, replaced by despair.

He could only watch as Black Wood gradually weakened, finally slumping limply to the ground.

Having rested up, Yu Bao slowly descended on its sand. It stood before Black Wood and flashed a smile that was both graceful and poised:

⌓‿⌓

’Your body is pretty tough~ I heard you were pretty brave a moment ago?’

A shadow fell over Black Wood...

”BELLOW!!!”

’Brother Yu, no!!!’

[Assignable Attribute Points: 0.10... 0.15]

A minute later, Black Wood’s body was wracked with pain, unable to get up again.

’It only went up by 0.05 points.’ Yu Bao licked its chops, wearing a disgusted expression that said, ’That was mediocre.’

Selena announced the result: ”Su Zhi is the winner.”

Su Zhi nodded and immediately called Yu Bao over to leave. After a busy afternoon, getting some food was the real priority!

Selena looked at Xu Jianzhi, who stood petrified in the commander’s spot, and sighed softly.

’Honestly, why did you have to provoke him?’
