Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

A few minutes earlier, in the senior management conference room of No. 1 High.

CRASH!

With a slam from Zhou Shengfa, the long, solid wood table exploded into a shower of splinters.

At the same time, three deep blue Beast Taming Light Arrays flared to life around him, erupting in a blinding light!

A powerful, suffocating wave of Energy swept through the conference room, crashing against the walls!

Fang Lihua, however, remained seated, perfectly calm.

SHING— SHING—

The instant Zhou Shengfa summoned his Beast Taming Light Arrays, the other teachers in the conference room followed suit, their own Light Arrays flaring into existence.

”Teacher Zhou! Calm down!”

”Let’s talk this out calmly! We can talk this out!”

”Teacher Zhou, what are you doing...?”

”What am I doing?”

Zhou Shengfa glared at Fang Lihua, his eyes bloodshot and ferocious.

”I’m going to beat the shit out of this son of a bitch who has no right to call himself a teacher, all for my student!”

Yan Shouzheng said in a low, stern voice, ”Teacher Zhou, Principal Fang was appointed by the Huai City Alliance Committee. No matter how inappropriate his actions are... it’s not your place to discipline him!”

”To hell with that!”

”This is my final warning.”

Three pale violet Beast Taming Light Arrays materialized around Yan Shouzheng.

Zhou Shengfa’s gaze was as fierce as a wild beast’s, but in the end, he had no choice but to withdraw his Light Arrays.

The other teachers’ Light Arrays vanished one by one, and only then did a tense calm return to the room.

”You have to give me an explanation!”

Zhou Shengfa pointed at Fang Lihua from across the room.

”Su Zhi passed the qualifying tournament! On what damn grounds did you revoke his eligibility to compete!”

”Teacher Zhou, I think you’ve misunderstood.”

Fang Lihua said with a forced smile, ”I’m simply acting in accordance with the school’s principles.”

”Bullshit! What kind of school rule did Su Zhi break?”

But Fang Lihua remained unhurried, displaying several forms on the screen.

”Teacher Zhou, see for yourself. Among the final four of the qualifying tournament, Su Zhi is the only student with zero attendance for all training sessions.

”In our post-tournament meeting, we analyzed that Wang Zijie, one of the top eight, has a more down-to-earth attitude toward his studies. He only lost to Liu Yuhang because of an unlucky draw; otherwise, he absolutely could have made it to the final four.

”Therefore, we transferred Su Zhi’s qualification to Wang Zijie. It is both fair and reasonable...”

”Fair and reasonable my ass!”

Zhou Shengfa, who had calmed down slightly, was instantly set off again. ”I don’t think you’re fucking fit to be the principal! Can’t you just piss off and let someone else do it?

”If he wants Su Zhi’s spot, then have him and Su Zhi fight a Pet Beast Battle! We’ll see who fucking crushes who!”

Yan Shouzheng tapped the table as a reminder. ”Teacher Zhou, Wang Zijie is not aware of this. Please watch your words.”

”Besides, Teacher Zhou, obtaining a spot in the city league requires meeting multiple conditions. Making it to the final four of the qualifiers is only one of them.”

Fang Lihua added, ”If there are problems in other areas, a student can still be disqualified.”

”Stop trying to fool me with that bullshit about rules! In previous years, there have been students in the final four who had demerits for violations, and didn’t their punishments get wiped clean after they qualified?

”Su Zhi just wants to train his Pet Beast his own way, and the facts prove he succeeded! What right do you have to fucking block him!”

Zhou Shengfa took a step forward, making a throat-slitting gesture.

”Last chance. Give the city league spot back to Su Zhi. If not, worst-case scenario, I’ll just quit being a teacher at No. 1 High!”

The other teachers tensed up instantly, ready to summon their Beast Taming Light Arrays at a moment’s notice.

Yan Shouzheng let out a heavy sigh.

”Zhou Shengfa, get a grip! Class Ten... doesn’t just have Su Zhi!”

Hearing this, Zhou Shengfa, who had been burning with rage, froze on the spot.

”Teacher Zhou, I am acting according to school regulations. Even if you report this to the higher-ups, my decision will withstand scrutiny.”

In the dead silence, Fang Lihua took a leisurely sip of his tea.

”Teacher Zhou, I admire your courage in fighting for your student’s rights. I’m sure Su Zhi is proud to have a teacher like you.

”However, I think Vice Principal Yan is right. Class Ten doesn’t just have Su Zhi.

”You are a Gold Medal class advisor. Under your leadership, this ’problem class’ has been given a new lease on life. If you insist on resigning...

”The new advisor the school assigns them might not necessarily do a better job than you.”

Zhou Shengfa’s fists clenched, then relaxed, finally falling limp at his sides.

...

...

Fengyun Arena, below the main stage.

After Cao Mingyu finished explaining everything that had happened, he suddenly bowed low.

”I’m sorry! I was there too. If I had also spoken up, at least Teacher Zhou wouldn’t have been all alone.”

”It’s fine.”

Su Zhi shook his head with a wry smile and patted his shoulder. ”This wasn’t something you could have changed anyway.”

Yu Bao sat beside Su Zhi, his head hanging low, completely motionless.

Diya looked at the spicy strip in its hand, then at Yu Bao. After a moment of internal conflict, it offered the spicy strip to Yu Bao.

”...Sa!”

’Don’t be sad, I’m even sharing my spicy strip with you!’

After hearing the whole story, Yan Dingyi exchanged a look with Peng Kai and left.

At some point, Xiaoyue had also walked over to Yu Bao and began to gently lick his fur.

Su Zhi crouched down and gently stroked Yu Bao.

”Wooo!” Yu Bao suddenly dove into Su Zhi’s arms, his body trembling slightly.

Grievance, anger, indignation, confusion... a myriad of emotions turned into tears, released in that single moment.

”Go on and cry. You’ll feel better after letting it all out.” Su Zhi gently patted Yu Bao’s back.

Peng Kai, however, had a playful look in his eyes. ”So, your qualification got blocked. What are you planning to do now, Fellow Daoist Su?”

”It almost feels expected... This isn’t the first time I’ve been targeted, after all.”

Su Zhi tried his best to keep his voice steady.

Yu Bao was crying; he needed to be a reliable shoulder to lean on first.

”So? What’s the plan now?”

”What’s to be done will be done. Eat when it’s time to eat, sleep when it’s time to sleep, and train as usual.”

Su Zhi’s voice was calm yet powerful, like a sword sheathed but ready.

”We’ll just keep getting stronger, until we’re strong enough to demand justice.”

”Woof wooo!” Yu Bao chimed in.

Then he went back to crying.

”Bullshit.” Peng Kai, however, kicked Su Zhi.

Su Zhi: ”Huh?”

”When you’re getting bullied by the villain, you’re supposed to find a powerful backer and crush them! What’s with this cool-guy act?”

Peng Kai gave Su Zhi a flick on the forehead.

Just then, Yan Dingyi, who had disappeared earlier, returned with a pen and paper.

Peng Kai fluently wrote a few lines, then took out a seal engraved with his name and stamped it.

”Here. Your qualification certificate.”

Su Zhi was utterly confused. ”What just happened?”

”I’m the chairman of the City League’s organizing committee. I have the authority to issue a certain number of wildcard slots to independent participants to promote the development of the Beast Taming profession.

”You only lost your qualification to compete as a student of No. 1 High. But now that I’ve given you a wildcard, you can compete as an independent.

”However...”

Peng Kai started to pull the wildcard back. ”I know Fellow Daoist Su’s true character. Even if you couldn’t compete, you’d remain just as disciplined. Since that’s the case, I guess I won’t...”

”Gimme that.”

Su Zhi snatched the wildcard with a SNAP.

So good!!!
