Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Everyone in Class 10!”

The moment Su Zhi stepped into the classroom, Liu Yuhang gave the order. Every student in Class 10 bowed low, their expressions solemn.

”The soldiers of Class 10 respectfully welcome the return of God Su!”

”With God Su here, Class 10 is guaranteed to become an Elite class! As for Liu Yuhang, he is expelled from Class 10, effective immediately!”

Liu Yuhang: ”Huh? What did I do??”

A cheerful air filled the classroom.

”...” Su Zhi was speechless. He looked at Shao Ya. ”You didn’t put them up to this, did you?”

”Hehe, what do you think?”

”Yeah, that’s the stuff.”

The two of them exchanged a smile and walked into the classroom.

The first person Su Zhi noticed was Liu Yuhang—they truly hadn’t seen each other in two weeks.

In the days Su Zhi was away, Liu Yuhang was no longer ”abducted” back to Wudu New Village after school.

The class president’s claim that the academic monitor and Su Zhi had ”a thing” might not have been a rumor after all...

”Brother Shu, long time no see!”

”It really has been a while...”

Su Zhi and Liu Yuhang bumped fists, and Su Zhi looked over his academic monitor with a bit of shock.

As he recalled, Liu Yuhang had been a scrawny, unassuming boy. He was always earnest and responsible, giving off the vibe of a quiet bookworm.

But now, his arms were as solid and powerful as armor, and the summer school uniform no longer looked so flimsy on him.

His skin had also turned a powerful-looking bronze color, which, paired with his still-youthful face, created a rather striking impression.

Xue Li stood on his shoulder. At first glance, not much had changed, but she also gave off an air of having been completely transformed—

[Pet Beast: Xue Li (Hao Waterfowl)]

[Attribute: Water]

[Race: High Level Extraordinary]

[Real-time Energy Value: 890]

”Whoa, Academic Monitor! How’d you manage this?”

Looking at the scan results, Su Zhi was utterly shocked.

This level of improvement was incredibly difficult for a young Pet Beast to achieve!

Liu Yuhang smiled shyly. ”Just some random training, that’s all~”

He also used his phone to scan Yu Bao. When he saw an Energy Value over a thousand, his smile instantly stiffened.

”Damn it, is the big shot here to flex on us plebs?”

Only then did the surrounding classmates react, hurriedly scanning Yu Bao.

”Holy crap! You guys, scan Yu Bao, quick!”

”Damn, 1056?? Did Brother Shu and Yu Bao get suspended or go to an advanced training course?”

”Tell us more about the ’advanced training’!”

”Mom, it’s like we’re not even going to the same school...”

An air of jealousy filled the Class 10 classroom.

Yu Bao sat up proudly, holding his head high to look as cool as possible for the scans.

He wanted to pull his big brother Xiaoyue over to pose with him, but Xiaoyue ignored him and ran over to Shao Ya’s desk to sleep.

Su Zhi also took a moment to re-evaluate everyone.

For example, the student who had been wailing the loudest had a Pet Beast with a Real-time Energy Value of 735, ranking third in Class 10. The other students’ Pet Beasts’ Energy Values weren’t low either.

This dispelled any trace of wishful thinking that had started to form in Su Zhi’s mind.

During his absence, his classmates hadn’t slacked off either.

Everyone was a traveler, advancing on their own path.

”Go for it, Brother Shu. I hope you can prove them all wrong.”

Liu Yuhang said seriously, ”But if we meet in the qualifiers, I’ll still have Xue Li go all out.”

”Yeah, and I’ll have Yu Bao go all out, too!”

The two of them looked at each other for a moment, then gripped each other’s hands tightly.

A reflective head peeked in from the classroom doorway. ”Yo? Having fun?”

”Ah!”

Liu Yuhang yanked his hand back in a panic. ”Teacher, I’m not usually like this...”

”Haha. It’s fine. I’m not here for you.”

Zhou Shengfa stuffed a card into Su Zhi’s hand.

It had a white background with blue patterns, the Huai First Middle School emblem in the center, and personal information below. It was his participation pass for the qualifying tournament.

”This is for you. Hold onto it.” His voice became serious.

”Right!” Su Zhi took it with both hands and put it on around his neck.

With that, the three contestants from Class 10 for the City League qualifiers were all ready!

”Good!”

His gaze swept over every student in Class 10, and Zhou Shengfa waved his hand grandly.

”All of Class 10, move out!”

·

At 8:00 AM, all the students of Huai First Middle School had finished assembling on the athletic field.

Fang Lihua stood on the flag-raising platform, looking down at the students below like a shepherd looking over his flock.

’Very good. Every student’s expression is serious and proper, embodying the spirit of Huai First Middle School.’

’Although Huai First Middle School hasn’t yet reached the level of efficiency of a ”Beast Taming Factory” like Shanda University Affiliated School or Hengzhong Middle School, under my leadership, it is thriving!’

His gaze swept past a calm face, and Fang Lihua’s eyelid twitched.

’Su Zhi?’

’Oh, right. His suspension is over.’

Fang Lihua snorted lightly, not letting his gaze linger on him.

’No matter how talented he is, being disconnected from school for two weeks must have set him back considerably.’

’It’s not a question of self-discipline, but one of group advantage.’

’Here at school, there’s a competitive atmosphere among the Pet Beasts.’

’With Su Zhi suspended at home, who could his Pet Beast compete with? The brats in his neighborhood?’

’It’s hard to say how far Su Zhi will go in the future, but he definitely won’t be making any waves in the City League.’

’Even if he can participate in the qualifiers, his seeding will be terrible due to his ranking, so his chances of getting a spot in the City League are slim.’

Thinking of this, Fang Lihua smiled with satisfaction.

He was quite eager to see how Su Zhi would embarrass himself in the qualifiers.

After the flag-raising ceremony and the playing of the national anthem, Cao Mingyu gave a speech.

As the student council president, his voice was passionate and full of energy, fully embodying the spirit of the students of Huai First Middle School.

...Or not.

Now that Su Zhi knew what Cao Mingyu was really like, watching his speech just made his skin crawl.

’The principal made him student council president... is he not afraid of ”committing suicide” one day with eight gunshots to the back?’

”That concludes my speech. Thank you all!”

As expected, Cao Mingyu timed the end of his speech for the precise moment the audience was just beginning to get bored.

Pleasing both the school administration and the students at the same time.

With all the formalities out of the way, it was time for the real battle to begin!

”Let’s go!”

The three contestants from Class 10 and Zhou Shengfa stacked their right hands and brought them down with a powerful thrust.

The upcoming matches were individual-based, so class affiliation didn’t matter much anymore.

The teacher and students said their goodbyes, and Zhou Shengfa led the rest of Class 10 to the spectator stands.

”Good luck!”

Just before they entered the arena, Shao Ya suddenly said.

Su Zhi glanced at Liu Yuhang, who had already walked off, then looked at the white-haired girl beside him, the corners of his mouth turning up. ”Thanks, you too!”

”Oh, I don’t need it. I passed the evaluation to bypass the qualifiers. I’m just here to have some fun~”

”Damn it, and here I was, actually feeling a little touched...”

”Hee hee. We both have to do our best!”

Her bright white hair bounced as she moved out of his line of sight.

After watching her disappear into the crowd, Su Zhi turned his gaze to the large screen in the battle arena.

”Time to go, Yu Bao.”

”Woof!”

The Envoy’s Pet stood shoulder to shoulder, watching the massive light screen scroll.

The format of the qualifiers was similar to the smaller quizzes, but on a much grander and more intense scale. Matches would be held in all arenas simultaneously, followed by a rapid-fire process of elimination, moving from one round to the next with no breaks for rest or strategizing.

This would continue until the final eight were decided.

Aside from a few specific top students who were granted exemptions by the school, this was the only chance for other students to qualify for the City League.

And one had to remember, those who could even participate in the qualifiers were already the top students in their respective classes.

Even so, the probability of a student who fought tooth and nail for a spot getting eliminated in the first round of the City League was still very high!

SWOOSH

A few seconds later, the pairings for all arenas were complete, and the light screen froze.

Su Zhi scanned the screen from top to bottom, finding his and his opponent’s information near the bottom—

He was stunned. His opponent was none other than...
