Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Fengyun Arena, Administrator’s Office.

”Alright, this should do it.”

Yan Dingyi stamped the ”Alliance Committee Opinion” section with a seal bearing his name and took the form.

”This form will be reviewed tonight by the old-timers in charge of the Alliance entrance assessment. They’ll probably be annoyed to death, but they’ll have no choice but to use their Saturday to assess you.”

Su Zhi blinked. ”Sounds like I might be getting special treatment?”

”Of course, but it’s not just because you submitted your application as an individual.”

Yan Dingyi’s smile turned a little mischievous. ”Yesterday, to spar with you, Peng Kai ditched a pretty important meeting—and the attendees just so happened to be the very people who are about to test you.”

”Faced with their questions, Xiaokai used concise and elegant language to describe your genius performance.”

”Huh?”

Su Zhi’s eyes widened. ”Wait, if he had something urgent, he should’ve just left. Why is he blaming it on me?”

”That’s just how Xiaokai is. Once he starts a spar, forget a meeting—even a girlfriend couldn’t drag him away. Of course, he doesn’t have a girlfriend.”

Su Zhi: ”Damn.”

He really wanted to beat Peng Kai up right now.

What a mess. He hadn’t even had the interview yet, and he’d already drawn the ire of the examiners.

”Calm down. They’re just a bunch of old-timers. At most, they’ll be a little moody, but they won’t actually give you a hard time.”

Yan Dingyi smiled leisurely. ”No need to be nervous. Just show them your core strengths.”

”Woof woof!”

Yu Bao energetically raised a paw.

’I know this one! My and Su Zhi’s core strength is our rebellious spirit!’

’Buddy, you can’t just say things like that...’ Su Zhi shook his head and chuckled, thinking that last night’s Intelligence boost had been a complete waste.

He already had a general idea of Saturday’s assessment. It would be roughly two spars: one same-level battle that he was required to win, and one higher-level battle where he needed to hold out for ten minutes.

The Alliance Youth Team’s recruitment was truly strict—not like he’d initially thought, where you could get in just by having someone recommend you and going through the motions.

”The challenge is immense, but there’s no use panicking.”

Su Zhi nodded. ”We’ll do our best.”

”Mm, just present your true self. The outcome is out of your hands.”

Yan Dingyi sat down leisurely and poured Su Zhi a cup of tea. ”Peng Kai should be sparring with Liu Junpiao right now. Want to watch a high-tier match?”

Su Zhi asked in surprise, ”You know Liu Junpo, too?”

”Heh, how could I not? The ’Genius’ who faded into obscurity.”

Yan Dingyi briefly told Su Zhi the story of Liu Junpo.

Then, he watched the live broadcast on the screen and said no more.

”Many people once thought he could surpass Peng Kai, but Liu Junpo ruined his own future for such an inconceivable reason. It’s a real pity.”

”Xiaosu, if it were you, what would you have done back then?”

Yan Dingyi turned and asked quietly, but found that Su Zhi didn’t answer. His expression unchanging, he turned back around.

’Perhaps he’s already engrossed in the spar.’

On the screen, the battle between the Thunderbolt War Falcon and the Blast Rock Rhinoceros had indeed reached a fever pitch.

BOOM—

Sparks of electricity flew and shattered rocks danced in the air.

After a fast-paced and closely-fought exchange, the two sides pulled apart to regroup.

Liu Junpo gave a decisive command: ”Xiaoyu, Thunder Rush! Don’t give Lie Gang a chance to stack its shield!”

”KRAA!” (Understood!)

Fei Yu transformed into a bolt of lightning and dove straight down, rushing toward Lie Gang in the center of the arena at a speed impossible to react to.

A spiral of dark golden light patterns circled Lie Gang’s feet, slowly rotating and accumulating power.

This was one of the Blast Rock Rhinoceros’s Racial Skills, an Earth Element High Level Elite Skill: Defense Wall.

As long as it remained stationary or moved within a certain range, the Blast Rock Rhinoceros’s Defense Power would rise rapidly, reaching a level comparable to that of a Commander Race or even a Monarch Race.

At that point, the Thunderbolt War Falcon would have no way to turn the tables!

Liu Junpo knew this was a trap set by his senior, baiting him. However, besides a head-on attack, he and Fei Yu had no other choice.

”Focus on a half-powered strike to break its rhythm! Don’t go all-out! Watch out for traps!”

”KRAA!” (Got it!)

In a flash, the Thunderbolt War Falcon seemed to attack Lie Gang with no reservations.

Its wings swept up a torrent of lightning, engulfing Lie Gang like an apocalyptic thunderstorm, every single bolt fiercely sharp.

However, no matter how sharp the lightning, it cannot pierce the earth.

No matter how the gales may rage, they cannot shake the mountains.

”Moo.” (Not bad. Your lightning has gotten a lot sharper.)

Amidst the storm-like pressure, Lie Gang stood firm and motionless, as if it weren’t lightning striking its body, but a light drizzle.

’Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough!’

Lie Gang’s dark brown eyes, as calm and steady as stone, locked firmly onto the approaching Fei Yu, which was diving as swiftly as a thunderbolt.

SWOOSH—

The instant Lie Gang reacted, Fei Yu’s body dissolved into an azure phantom, suddenly shooting backward dozens of meters into the sky to create distance again.

Thunderbolt War Falcon Racial Skill, a Wind Element Middle Elite Skill: Swallow’s Return!

High in the sky, the Thunderbolt War Falcon spread its wings wide, each feather covered in a rich, light-green glow. A massive, green, ring-shaped light array appeared behind Fei Yu, making it look like a deity.

SWISH—

A downpour of light-green blades instantly enveloped Lie Gang on the ground, and the dull thud of flesh being sliced open could be faintly heard.

Thunderbolt War Falcon Core Skill: Azure Wing Burial!

Faced with such a ferocious assault, even Lie Gang, empowered by its Defense Wall, finally staggered back two steps.

In that moment, wind and thunder had successfully shaken the mountain!

”A perfect chance!”

Liu Junpo subconsciously clenched his fists. ”Don’t give it time to recover! Close in for a strong attack and take it down in one fell swoop!”

”KRAA!”

Fei Yu decisively carried out the order, transforming into a lightning-fast shadow and diving straight down.

However, Lie Gang, which had been staggering just a moment ago, suddenly stabilized its footing with incredible speed.

At the same time, a giant, pale yellow Energy Light Array unfurled, covering almost the entire arena.

Fei Yu, just about to reach Lie Gang, widened its eyes.

’My senior is sandbagging?!’

”MOO!”

’Sorry, junior sister!’

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!—

Giant stone walls suddenly erupted from the light array, instantly sealing off the retreat path of Swallow’s Return.

The strength of Swallow’s Return lay in its ability to fly backward. Its weakness was that it could *only* fly backward!

Countless stone pillars surged forth immediately after—an Earth Element Low Level Elite Skill, the Advanced Yellow Earth Wall Skill: Continuous Mountains and Deep Valleys!

Even so, as a prime example of a mobile Pet Beast, the Thunderbolt War Falcon would not just sit there and wait for death.

Facing the successive stone walls erupting from the light array, Fei Yu weaved through them fearlessly and nimbly, dodging one surprise attack after another.

At the same time, Fei Yu quickly locked onto a hidden weak point in the wall formation and broke through at full speed.

CRACK—

Its sharp beak pierced the stone wall, and Fei Yu successfully broke out of the encirclement of Continuous Mountains and Deep Valleys, only to freeze abruptly.

A giant hand made of rock was floating in the air, having long been waiting.

Mimicry! This was a Quasi Tier Three Earth Force Field!

PLOP—

Fei Yu was gently pinched by its feet between the giant hand’s index finger and thumb, flapped twice, and then flopped onto the ground.
