Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

[Self-Introduction]

I’m Dandan, a 19-year-old, single, male sophomore. I’m based in a provincial capital up north, a web novel apprentice who’s been writing for a year. Currently, I’m writing to cover my own tuition and living expenses, working hard toward the goal of going full-time after graduation.

My first two books covered my living expenses for last semester, and I probably have enough for next academic year’s tuition. I’m hoping this book can cover the next two years.

I think I’m a pretty dedicated author for a student. I don’t play games or engage in pointless socializing. My life is just writing, reading, exercising, and attending class. I get up at six every day to write before my 8 a.m. classes, spend my evenings checking the rankings and reading, and go to sleep at midnight. It’s an unbreakable routine.

Because I don’t get to eat a proper lunch, my mouth is often full of canker sores. For example, I have three right now: one on my left cheek, one on my upper left lip, and one on my right cheek.

Also, back in late February and early March, I caught the type A flu and had a fever of 39.5°C. On those days, I couldn’t get out of bed until seven in the morning. But I still pushed myself to write 4,000 characters every day without taking a single day off.

March 1st was actually my birthday, but I was sick with the flu, so I didn’t celebrate or even have a birthday cake. Still, I didn’t miss that day’s update~

I know my book might be a flop, but I believe my work ethic is solid. So I don’t think it’s too much to ask for your subscription here.

[Subscriptions]

I admit my writing is trash and full of plot holes, big and small, but I still hope you’ll subscribe to all Chapters if you can. Subscriptions are really, really important to me...

I know subscribing to everything might be a financial strain for some readers, but I hope you’ll support me as much as you can. For a small author like me, no subscriptions is a critical blow. I think Qidian has something called a ”Chapter Card”? It seems like you can use it to follow one or two books without much financial pressure. I’ve never used it myself, so if anyone knows how, maybe you can teach everyone else.

Honestly, a full subscription for a month is only about ten RMB, which really isn’t expensive. For you, it might be the price of a couple of drinks, but I rely on my royalties to pay for my tuition and living expenses. If you don’t subscribe and I starve to death, that’s a big problem. No exaggeration.

You can log into Q-Reading and Qidian with the same account. Subscribed Chapters don’t need to be purchased again, as the data is synced between both platforms. So, if possible, I hope Q-Reading users can come over to the Qidian side to turn on auto-subscribe before going back to read.

Also, Qidian’s pricing is 1 Point for every 200 characters, so please don’t ask things like, ”Why is this Chapter so expensive?” Longer Chapters naturally cost more. And sometimes a 2,000-character Chapter is too short, so if necessary, I’ll write 3,000-character (15 Points) or 4,000-character (20 Points) Chapters.

For those of you ”stockpiling Chapters,” please turn on auto-subscribe. Just letting the book sit on your shelf without subscribing isn’t ”stockpiling,” it’s ”setting it free.”

How to turn on auto-subscribe is shown in the image.

How to turn it off and manage it is shown in the image.

[Donations]

Please support the novel with official subscriptions. As for donations, please do so within your means. I don’t recommend students make large donations. The exception is for you rich ”Brothers” and ”Sisters”—please, humiliate me with your money.

If you really want to donate, please do it on the Qidian app. For iOS users, please donate through the Qidian Chinese website. Otherwise, a large portion of your money will be taken by the platform, and I won’t receive much of it.

[Bonus Chapters]

An Android ”Hall Master” donation gets 1 bonus Chapter (2,000 characters); an ”Alliance Leader” gets 6 bonus Chapters. An iOS ”Alliance Leader” gets 2 bonus Chapters. The pinned post about bonus Chapters in the review section is always active. Everyone is welcome to participate.

[Detecting Incoming Manuscript Fusion Strike]

After the book goes premium, I will guarantee a minimum of 4,000 characters updated daily. On top of that, I will add another 2,000 to 4,000 characters. I won’t make a hard promise on the exact amount, because if it affects the quality, it wouldn’t be worth it.

In other words, after going premium, there will be at least 6,000 characters a day, possibly 8,000 or even 10,000.

If I get sick or have to take a day off for personal reasons, then I’m sorry, but there will only be the guaranteed minimum of 4,000 characters.

This extra daily word count is separate from the dedicated bonus Chapters mentioned earlier. They don’t affect each other. I will mark the dedicated bonus Chapters with [Bonus Chapter].

[Special Thanks]

I want to thank Shuhuangpoboxieshu for getting me into this industry! I still remember when I said I wanted to write a Beast Taming novel, my editor recommended *Beast Taming Patrol Envoy* to me.

So I immediately subscribed to the whole thing, finished it, and joined the ”Helmsman” group chat.

Then, starting last December, I was constantly working on my opening. Each time, I’d ask Senior Shuhuang to look it over for me and give me suggestions for revision. You could call it a full-service, nanny-style tutelage.

Of course, my talent in this area isn’t great (to put it bluntly: I’m trash). Even with a giant of his stature teaching me step-by-step, I only managed to squeeze out this mediocre, barely-readable book.

When I started my new book and was looking for shoutout support, it was Senior Shuhuang who gave me one! Although his readers are mostly ”no-female-lead” fans, so it didn’t really have much effect...

Currently, Shuhuang’s new book, *Is It Wrong to Turn Gourmet Food into Pet Beasts?*, is being serialized! Everyone should go check it out! The main character’s Pet Beast is me (lol).
