To learn more about the Holy Water, Nina Jacobs decided to stay an extra day at Meridia Base.

Mordecai Quinn also wanted to discuss purchasing military-grade equipment from Audrey Crowley to strengthen the base’s defenses.

So, following Mordecai Quinn, Nina Jacobs soon saw the legendary Holy Water.

The man before them, Felix Finch, had Elara Calder, who was beside him, take out a transparent bottle.

To prove the Holy Water’s authenticity, he cut his own arm and dripped two drops of it onto the wound.

The bleeding stopped instantly. The torn flesh began to contract, then slowly healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

A smug look spread across Elara Calder’s face. ”What do you think? This stuff is worth more than gold. I assume this is the first time you two have seen anything like it.”

She casually pushed the bottle over, and Nina Jacobs picked it up to examine it closely.

’A colorless, odorless, transparent liquid. This is a Healing Potion, no doubt about it.’

She was certain this wasn’t a concentrated version of her Blood Stopping Spray either.

She had once tried distilling and concentrating her Blood Stopping Spray. While the concentrated version was much more effective, it gave off the faint smell of rust.

Mordecai Quinn said, ”Name your price.”

He planned to buy a few bottles for Nina Jacobs.

After all, Nina Jacobs was always on the move, and getting injured was inevitable.

”One bottle for one ton of supplies, plus 500 Mutated Crystal Cores.”

Felix Finch replied.

”That’s a pretty good deal, isn’t it? A ton of supplies is just a small amount when converted to food.

As a base commander, Mr. Quinn, that should be a trivial amount for you, right?”

Felix Finch continued.

”Can I ask where this stuff comes from?”

Nina Jacobs asked.

The two of them exchanged a glance, and Elara Calder looked amused.

”Of course... not a chance. This is the highest secret of our Riventon Base. Don’t tell me you can’t afford it and want to go source it yourself?

Rest assured, only people like us with sales qualifications have access to Holy Water. Besides us, none of you are qualified to get a single drop.”

Seeing the thorny tone Elara Calder used with Nina Jacobs, Mordecai Quinn’s expression soured.

”You’re just a reseller, a middleman. You have no right to speak to my guest like that here.”

Mordecai Quinn said coldly.

He had completely lost interest after hearing they wanted a ton of food for a single bottle of potion.

The Holy Water was valuable, but so were supplies. A ton of food could keep everyone in their base alive for many days.

The other party clearly didn’t expect Mordecai Quinn to be so direct, but Elara Calder wasn’t intimidated.

”In that case, we’re raising the price. One bottle for two tons of supplies.”

She looked smug. They had used this tactic at other bases with great success. Usually, at this point, the other side would look regretful and beg them to stick to the original price.

However, Nina Jacobs said, ”Then we won’t buy it.”

The two were stunned. Felix Finch quickly asked,

”Commander Quinn, have you thought this through?

If you miss this opportunity, there won’t be another. The price of Holy Water is only going to get higher.”

Mordecai Quinn nodded. ”We’ve thought it through. You two may see yourselves out.”

If Nina said not to buy it, he wouldn’t buy it.

”Fine, don’t buy it. There are plenty of people who want Holy Water. You’d better not regret this.”

Elara Calder stood up and walked toward the door.

She was certain Mordecai Quinn would call them back, but as soon as they stepped outside, the door SLAMMED shut behind them.

Only then did Mordecai Quinn’s brow relax. His expression changed as he asked,

”Did you get a good look?”

Nina was curious about the Holy Water, so he had brought her here directly.

He didn’t regret failing to buy any.

”Yes, I saw it clearly.”

Nina asked in return, ”Something this useful, and you don’t want it?” She stood by the window, watching the people of Meridia Base come and go.

Mordecai Quinn chuckled and shook his head.

”Of course, something like this is great. Everyone would want it. But... when I think about trading supplies that Sean Joyce died to protect for a few bottles of medicine, I feel it’s better not to.”

He would have been fine with trading Crystal Cores for it, but since Nina had already made the call, there was no need to negotiate further.

His brother-in-arms, Sean Joyce, would rather turn into a zombie than escape alone, all to protect the supplies in the dimensional space for the base...

’What right do I have to squander those supplies?’

”Yeah, I was just curious about the source of this Holy Water.

I think they lied about their identities.”

Nina Jacobs said.

Elara Calder kept saying it was her base’s top secret, yet she couldn’t stop mentioning Riventon Base.

She believed their claim of being from Riventon Base was false, just a cover for their true identities.

”Very likely.”

Mordecai Quinn completely agreed.

Those people could be from any base, but it definitely wasn’t Riventon Base.

Nina Jacobs had already activated her ”Five Senses Enhancement,” and it seemed the two who just left had started arguing.

It sounded like they were indeed on a mission to sell the Holy Water, but their argument was brief. Their other companions were waiting outside.

”Maybe he was just trying to haggle. Let’s stay at Meridia Base for another two days and see what happens.”

Leo Hayes said.

”If he’s trying to haggle, that’s even more reason not to sell. Don’t worry, he’ll definitely come looking for us again.”

Elara Calder glanced at the office building not far away.

’No one can resist the temptation of the Holy Water. After all, our Holy Water can even cure cancer.’

Hearing their confident words, Nina Jacobs smiled.

She turned and asked, ”If you want Holy Water, I happen to have some.”

She had never been sure of the safest channel to market her ”Healing Potions.”

But now that someone else had paved the way, it seemed she could just reap the benefits.

”You have Holy Water?!”

Mordecai Quinn asked after a moment of shock.

Nina Jacobs nodded. ”I got my hands on some a while back through a certain channel. I only need Crystal Cores in exchange.”

A Crystal Core transaction.

This was exactly what Mordecai Quinn wanted.

What shocked him even more was the incredibly low number of Crystal Cores Nina asked for.

She was only charging 100 Crystal Cores per bottle of Holy Water.

’How is that any different from just giving them to me for free?’

”A friend of mine came across a batch by chance. Consider it a friend’s price.”

Nina Jacobs also took out ten bottles of ”Healing Potion.”

Her price for ten bottles was 1,000 Crystal Cores.

”This is too valuable. I can’t accept it.”

Mordecai Quinn refused.

He knew exactly how precious the Holy Water was. He’d find it normal even if the price was 100 times more than 1,000 Crystal Cores.

Nina Jacobs shook her head. ”Making a profit on Crystal Cores isn’t my main goal. If it can save lives, it’s all worth it.”

’Saving lives?’

Mordecai Quinn was slightly moved but didn’t know what to say.

She could kill Zachary Ziegler without a moment’s hesitation.

Yet she could also save others with such kindness.

He had no idea what she truly wanted.

”Don’t worry. Same as always, I won’t tell anyone about this.”

Mordecai Quinn looked at the enigmatic Nina Jacobs before him and decided not to dwell on it.

’Just being able to know some people is a blessing in itself.’

After returning to her quarters, Nina Jacobs took ten bottles of the potion from her backpack and placed them in front of Mordecai Quinn.

She asked, ”Do a lot of people know about the Holy Water now?”

”A lot. It’s not just me; a portion of the people in the base have heard about it too.”

Mordecai Quinn took out a box filled with Crystal Cores and pushed it toward her.

Someone had previously been selling Holy Water by the drop in Meridia Base, but according to his investigation, that person’s Holy Water was likely a fake.
