The Level 7 System provided quite a few items:

First Superpower Cards, 7 Second Superpower Cards, 700 Superpower Recovery Potions, 300 Healing Potions, 40 Invisibility Potions (1 hour), and 2 Safe House Skins.

The system’s storage space expanded to 200 square meters.

What truly shocked Nina Jacobs was a new skill set gifted by the system: the Teleportation Gate.

[Teleportation Gate: Can establish a gate between two locations, regardless of distance. Only the host may travel between these two points. Each teleportation takes 10 seconds.]

[Host, the chosen locations for the Teleportation Gate cannot be changed. Please choose carefully.]

As if sensing Nina Jacobs was studying the Teleportation Gate, the system sent another notification.

”So, I can travel freely between two places? But those two places are fixed?”

Nina Jacobs asked in pleasant surprise.

’If that’s the case, doesn’t that mean I can return to Tomorrow Base whenever I want?’

[Correct. However, each use of the Teleportation Gate costs 10,000 Crystal Cores for energy, so it is not free.]

the system replied.

”That expensive?”

Nina Jacobs wasn’t short on Crystal Cores, but a cost of 10,000 per trip meant she couldn’t just teleport back and forth casually.

[The Teleportation Gate requires energy. Besides Crystal Cores, Beast Cores can also be used as a substitute.]

[The teleportation points must also be in concealed locations. If discovered, the consequences will be dire.]

”I understand.”

Nina Jacobs knew she couldn’t choose the locations recklessly.

’She suspected the system’s ”dire consequences” meant she’d have to kill to keep her secret...’

Nina Jacobs spent that night thinking long and hard about the teleportation locations.

One gate definitely needed to be near Keldorn, but the base was too crowded. She couldn’t guarantee she could appear inside Tomorrow Base without being seen, so she decided to pick a spot outside the base.

An idea suddenly popped into her head while she was checking the Puppet Zombie’s battle records.

’I can put the first Teleportation Gate near Crestfall!’

’No one ever goes there.’

Besides, Crestfall was only eighty or ninety kilometers from Tomorrow Base.

As for the second location for the Teleportation Gate, she planned to choose a spot in City D.

’But I’ll have to wait until I get back to City D to make a final decision on that one...’

After assessing the feasibility of her plan, Nina Jacobs went out alone early the next morning.

The reason she didn’t take Wayne Warner with her was because Godfrey Thatcher had been teaching him how to drive these past few days.

Godfrey Thatcher had almost been turned into a zombie by Julia Hughes’s ”prank” earlier, and Wayne Warner had been insistent on saving him. Godfrey was the first person Wayne had ever wanted to save.

Of course, it might have also been because of that can of cola.

Godfrey Thatcher didn’t mind that Wayne Warner was quiet and was patient enough to teach him how to drive, which was a rare quality.

Godfrey Thatcher also knew that Nina Jacobs and Wayne Warner would be leaving for a while, which was what sparked the idea in the first place.

He believed that a man had to know how to drive and couldn’t always let a woman do the hard work.

She was gratified to see Wayne Warner finally make a friend.

She soon arrived near Crestfall.

This time, Nina Jacobs boldly deployed her Safe House right outside one of the city walls.

As long as she stayed inside the Safe House, her presence wouldn’t stir up the zombies in the city.

The Puppet Zombie’s battle record had reached a new high.

But this time, when she used the Silver Whistle to summon the Puppet Zombie, she found it was actually ”injured.”

A large hole had been gouged out of the Puppet Zombie’s abdomen.

It had clearly just been in a fight. Its golden armor was no longer gleaming, one of its arms was broken, and its body was covered in injuries.

”Was this... done by a Fire Element Zombie?”

Nina Jacobs looked at the large hole. The edges were scorched—it was definitely the work of a Fire Element Superpower.

The Puppet Zombie couldn’t answer her, of course. It just stood woodenly inside the Safe House.

”Let me see if I can repair some of this. You should rest for now.”

Nina Jacobs wasn’t concerned about the zombie; she was concerned about the Divine Wood.

’If this Puppet Zombie were destroyed, she’d have to use her Puppetry Technique and another piece of Divine Wood to create a new one...’

Nina Jacobs deduced that the Puppet Zombie was low on Superpower Energy, so she took out one of the system’s ”Superpower Energy Stones” and placed it on a relatively clean part of its body.

Sure enough, the ”Superpower Energy Stone” began to glow faintly, proving that the Puppet Zombie was absorbing it to replenish its Superpower Energy.

As for the numerous injuries on its body, she could only use her Wood Element Superpower to repair them, just as she did with the Little Zombie Rats.

A steady stream of Wood Element Superpower flowed out, and the large hole in its abdomen was gradually covered by a layer of bark-like skin, along with the other wounds on the Puppet Zombie’s body.

Just then, Nina Jacobs heard the roar of a zombie outside the Safe House.

Through the Safe House window, Nina Jacobs saw a Mutated Zombie completely engulfed in flames.

The zombie was pacing restlessly near the Safe House.

”It’s here for you,” Nina Jacobs said.

The Mutated Zombie was likely pacing because it had caught a scent of something.

But with the protection of the Safe House, it couldn’t find her.

”Go kill it,” Nina Jacobs commanded.

Although she could have killed the Fire Element Zombie herself, doing so would have easily attracted other zombies.

Upon receiving Nina Jacobs’s command, the Puppet Zombie charged out through the open door without hesitation.

Seeing the Puppet Zombie attack, the Fire Element Zombie immediately met the challenge.

From inside, Nina Jacobs watched the two Mutated Zombies locked in a fierce battle. She was intrigued to see that the Fire Element Zombie’s flame attacks could actually corrode metal.

”So that’s how it is. Fire melts Gold?”

That Fire Element Zombie was also clearly an Intermediate Zombie.

Zombies evolved much faster than humans, so it wasn’t surprising to find two Intermediate Zombies in a Zombie City teeming with the undead.

’Of course, there might be even more Intermediate ones inside...’

Soon, the Fire Element Zombie’s attacks seemed to weaken. Nina Jacobs guessed it was because its Superpower Energy was running low.

After all, she had just let the Puppet Zombie absorb two ”Superpower Energy Stones.”

BOOM!

Nina Jacobs opened a crack in the window.

A Diamond Shield appeared to block a powerful blow for the Puppet Zombie, and in the next instant, the ground beneath the Fire Element Zombie turned to sand.

ROAR!

The Puppet Zombie seized the opportunity, thrusting out its claws. The Gold Spikes on its fingertips plunged into both sides of the Fire Element Zombie’s head...

The roaring stopped instantly.

Nina Jacobs had the Puppet Zombie dig out the Fire Element Crystal Core, which she then collected.

After closing the Safe House’s door and windows, Nina Jacobs had the Puppet Zombie rest outside while she released the Little Zombie Rats.

Six Little Zombie Rats scurried up and over the city wall. Using their perspectives, Nina Jacobs quickly found a relatively hidden spot within Crestfall.

The desolate, dilapidated city of Crestfall resembled the flayed skeleton of a giant beast, its streets piled high with the wreckage of cars.

One of the rats crawled over a steel rebar jutting out from the concrete, then ventured deep into an alleyway off the street.

Amidst a tangle of abandoned buildings, the rat stopped at the base of a derelict tower where there were very few zombies.

’This spot is closest to the wall. Even if I suddenly appeared here, no one would ever see me.’

Nina Jacobs controlled the Little Zombie Rat to circle the inside of the tower, finally deciding to place the ”Teleportation Gate” here.

She stepped out of the Safe House and said to the Puppet Zombie waiting outside:

”Follow them and clear out all the zombies around that tower. Keep watch and don’t let any of them disturb me.”
