Fairy Tail: Collapsing Stars

Chapter 440: The Demons Created by Zeref Are Not as Dark as the People of Fairy Tail

”No, wait...”

”Calm down first! Take Lullaby away from your mouth first!”

”Letʼs talk things out properly, donʼt resort to violence!”

”We are all civilized people! We must use civilized methods to solve problems!”

Inside the enormous hall where the presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore gathered, the presidents of the Mage Guilds who were highly respected throughout the Kingdom of Fiore and even the Ishgar Continent, were currently looking at the red-haired crazy beauty in front of them, whose body had the Fairy Tail mark on it, with panicked expressions.

In this world, there were not many things that could make these people panic anymore!

And coincidentally, something that made them feel uneasy and terrified in their hearts was happening right now!

And the reason why they were so panicked was not because of anything else, but simply because that legendary Curse Song Lullaby, created by the Black Wizard Zeref, which was enough to make the lives of an entire city disappear, was actually in the hands of a Fairy Tail person...

For everyone present, and even all the people of the Kingdom of Fiore, this was undoubtedly like the end of the world!

The presidents of the Mage Guilds could all imagine just how terrifying a disaster it would cause to the entire kingdom, and even the entire continent, once Lullaby fell into the hands of a Fairy Tail person!

Looking at the red-haired woman in front of them...

At this moment, these presidents of the Mage Guilds would rather Lullaby fall into the hands of a Dark Mage Guild than let it fall into the hands of a Fairy Tail person!

One had to know, if Lullaby was in the hands of a Dark Mage Guild, they could take certain measures to seize Lullaby from the people of the Dark Mage Guild. After all, most of the Mages from Dark Mage Guilds were just a group of stray dogs with no real strength, completely unable to compete against them, these Light Mages...

However, once Lullaby fell into the hands of a Fairy Tail person, then the problem would become serious!

Everyone knew that Fairy Tail had already become a scene resembling hell. The Mages inside lived every day as if they were in hell!

Facing those monsters who had been tempered within hell, with their little bit of strength, they simply could not take it back...

Secondly, no matter how dark the Mages of Dark Mage Guilds were, they were still humans, and they were still Mages. As long as they were humans, they possessed conscience. No matter how evil a Mage was, they would still have a little bit of morality.

In other words, even if a Dark Guild Mage truly obtained Lullaby, they would still hesitate because of their conscience and would not necessarily play this Curse Song Lullaby that was enough to plunge the Ishgar Continent into chaos...

But the group of lunatics from the Mage Guild Fairy Tail was different. Their thought processes were completely different from normal people. Perhaps the Mages of Fairy Tail would use the excuse of wanting to see whether the legendary Lullaby truly had the ability to instantly harvest the souls of everyone in a city, and whether the ancient people had made a mistake, and then play the Curse Song~

Yes, those lunatics from Fairy Tail could indeed do such a thing...

”I donʼt intend to play it~”

”Iʼm only letting you see what the Curse Song looks like...”

Erza had an extremely righteous expression. She held Lullaby in her hand, faced all the presidents of the Mage Guilds in the Kingdom of Fiore, and loudly declared.

”Alright, we have already seen what the Curse Song looks like. Please put it away quickly!”

A Mage Guild president looked at Erza and spoke extremely nervously.

”Why are you so nervous?!”

”I never intended to play it...”

As Erza spoke, she placed the flute near her mouth.

”No! Since you donʼt intend to play the Curse Song...”

”Can you first move the flute in your hand away?!”

”Donʼt fool us. That flute in your hand is getting closer and closer to your mouth...”

The presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore looked at Erza, who was holding Lullaby and slowly moving it closer to her delicate red lips, and spoke nervously one after another.

”No, I just want to verify whether this Lullaby truly possesses the powerful strength described in the legends!”

Erza thought briefly, then smiled and spoke to the presidents of the Mage Guilds in front of her.

Looking carefully, Erzaʼs pair of brown eyes had already, at some unknown point, transformed into vertical pupils like a catʼs. Without a doubt, Erzaʼs eyes at this moment had already been completely controlled by curiosity...

”We knew this would happen!”

”August, quickly look at what kind of people come out of your Fairy Tail Guild!”

”People are going to die! A lot of people are going to die!”

”Hurry up and control your guild members!”

”If you really want to play the Curse Song, go play it in your guild! Donʼt play it here! After all, Iʼm still inside this hall!”

After hearing Erzaʼs words, the presidents of the Mage Guilds looked at the president of Fairy Tail Guild, August, and complained while blaming him.

”No! Everyone, it is not that I do not want to educate Erza~”

”In fact, I am also a little curious. Is the power of this legendary Lullaby really that great? Could the records have been wrong? Perhaps today we can learn the true power of the legendary Curse Song Lullaby...”

However, while the presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore were complaining to August, the one being complained about touched his long beard, looked at Erza and the Lullaby in her hand, and spoke with great curiosity.

”Ah, thereʼs no saving them!”

”Thereʼs completely no saving them...”

”There isnʼt a single normal person in Fairy Tail Guild...”

”No, no, no. The fact that we thought the president of Fairy Tail Guild might be a normal person means our brains already have problems...”

”Weʼre going to die! This time weʼre really going to die!”

”Someone save us!”

”As expected, whenever Fairy Tail participates in something, there is absolutely no good outcome...”

”I should have realized it earlier. The fact that Fairy Tail Guildʼs president came to our Kingdom of Fiore Mage Guild presidentsʼ gathering this year was completely a conspiracy! A conspiracy to wipe out all of us presidents of Light Mage Guilds in one move...”

As August finished speaking, the presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore revealed expressions of despair, as if they were about to die and the world was about to end.

”You misunderstand!”

However, while the presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore continued crying out in despair, August suddenly spoke.

”In fact, if our Fairy Tail truly intended to attack all of you, there would be no need to find any excuse!”

”After all, I am not targeting anyone. I mean that all Mage Guilds in the entire Ishgar Continent, except for our Fairy Tail, are not very impressive~”

Augustʼs words were extremely elegant, and his choice of words was very refined. He did not respond roughly to the presidents of the Mage Guilds.

If it were Evan, he would have definitely already quoted a famous saying and smiled at the presidents of the Mage Guilds in front of him:

”Everyone here is trash~”

”Ah this...”

After August finished speaking, the entire hall became much quieter. The presidents of the Mage Guilds stared blankly at August but had no way to refute him, because just as August said, if Fairy Tail truly wanted to attack them, there was no need to do it secretly. Doing it openly would already be enough!

”Bastard! Why are you saying such truthful things?!”

The presidents of the Mage Guilds shouted angrily at August. They protested, they strongly protested Augustʼs behavior of not giving them any face.

”Natsu, arenʼt you going to stop Erza?”

”Looking at her current appearance, she really might want to play that Lullaby...”

As the only person in Fairy Tail Guild who currently seemed normal, Lucy watched as the story once again started rushing in an inexplicable direction. Her heart began beating rapidly, so she softly asked Natsu beside her.

”Huh? You want me to stop Erza?!”

”Why should I stop Erza? Erza hasnʼt done anything wrong!”

After hearing Lucyʼs words, Natsu showed a trace of confusion. He looked at Lucy and asked.

”Isnʼt it obvious? That is Lullaby! It is the magic of the Black Wizard Zeref! Its power is limitless and it will cause countless disasters...”

After hearing Natsuʼs words, Lucy was stunned for a moment before speaking.

”Really?!”

”But I also really want to know whether Lullaby is truly that powerful!”

”I wonder if Lullaby would work on me?”

”If it could instantly pull my soul out of my body, that would be really interesting...”

After hearing Lucyʼs words, Natsu was stunned for a moment. He scratched his cheek and looked at Lucy with a confused expression.

”Ah?!”

Lucy froze for a moment.

Yes, even Lucy completely could not keep up with Natsuʼs thought process...

It was hard to imagine that there was actually someone in this world who wanted to experience the feeling of their own soul being pulled out of their body...

”The me who thought Natsu was a normal person has some problems!”

”As expected, Natsu and Erzaʼs thought processes are the same!”

”I should never have held even a little hope for Natsu...”

”This guild has no normal people. There are only lunatics and even crazier lunatics...”

After recovering for a while, Lucy continuously complained to Natsu.

Natsuʼs thoughts were also on another level even within Fairy Tail...

”Phew...”

”As Mages of Fairy Tail, no matter what, we should...”

Lucy let out a long sigh, exhaling the frustration in her heart.

Then, she slightly opened her mouth. It seemed she was still unwilling to give up and was planning to say something to Natsu and the others.

”Everyone, do you think Lullaby really has the powerful strength described in the legends?”

”I donʼt feel that it is that powerful!”

However, before Lucy could say more, Natsu had already walked toward Gray and the others and started discussing Lullabyʼs true power...

”I donʼt think it does!”

Gray stood in place and thought for a moment before shaking his head.

As an Ice Molding Mage, and also an Ice Devil Slayer Mage, Gray was very sensitive to Curse Power. Compared to the Curse Power inside the body of Selene, the Moon Dragon God, Lullabyʼs Curse Power was simply insignificant...

If this level of Curse Power from Lullaby could be called a Great Demon, then wouldnʼt Selene be a Demon King level existence?!

”During that era, because the Magic Power between heaven and earth was insufficient!”

”The power of magic was much weaker compared to now, and therefore the Mages who used magic were also much weaker than they are now. So the ancient peopleʼs understanding of strength was not comprehensive! Perhaps something that seemed extremely powerful to ancient people is no longer considered anything today! Therefore, I believe the words of ancient people cannot be fully trusted...”

Gray thought for a moment and explained to Natsu.

”Is this the true form of the magic created by Zeref, Lullaby?”

”What an incredible power this is! It makes oneʼs heart and mind tremble! If it possesses this kind of power, then destroying a town would not be difficult, right?”

Lucy stared at the mountain-sized Lullaby in front of her with wide eyes. She was amazed by the strength of Lullaby.

”...”

However, Natsu, Gray, Lyon, and the others had different opinions as they looked at this enormous demon in front of them.

”This is way too weak, isnʼt it?!”

After carefully examining Lullaby from top to bottom, Natsu frowned and spoke with dissatisfaction.

”Itʼs even weaker than I imagined! It cannot compare with Seilah at all...”

After hearing Natsuʼs words, Gray lightly nodded. They were both Demons from the Book of Zeref, yet the difference was astonishingly huge.

In fact, the Demons created by Zeref were never judged by their appearances to determine their strength...

Because the reason Zeref created these Demons was because Zeref wanted to revive his younger brother, Natsu, and Zerefʼs younger brother Natsu was undoubtedly a human...

These Demons were merely byproducts produced during Zerefʼs experiments. Therefore, the closer their appearance was to a Demon, the weaker their strength was. The closer their appearance was to a human, the stronger their strength became!

This was also why the Demons among the Nine Demon Gates, the executives of Zerefʼs Book, Tartaros, were instead not large in size. Demons like Seilah almost all possessed human forms. Even the acting guild master of Tartaros, Mard Geer, looked almost no different from a human in his usual appearance.

As for the stronger Curse users, the Grim Reaper Bloodman and Larcade, they appeared before everyone as a human wearing armor and a saint-like figure respectively...

As for a Demon like Lullaby, which looked extremely powerful, among the Demons created by Zeref, it could only be considered a weakling!

”Looks like you guys won the bet. Thereʼs no helping it! From now on, all my clothes will be yours to wear...”

Lyon looked at Lullaby in front of him and sighed before finally making a helpless decision.

Thatʼs right, starting today, it was no longer because he deliberately refused to wear clothes...

It was simply because he had gambled all his clothes away, so he had no clothes left to wear!

Yes, Lyon had planned this from the very beginning...

Therefore, whether Lullaby possessed the power to destroy a town or did not possess such power, it had nothing to do with him, Lyon.

Lyon had already been standing in an invincible position from the beginning...

”Who wants your clothes?!”

Lucy looked at Lyon and complained wildly.

”This Lullaby is only at this level? How could it possibly possess the power to destroy a town?”

”How come I canʼt see that he possesses the power to destroy Magnolia Town?!”

Gajeel held a spoon in his hand, stuffing it into his mouth while looking at Lullaby and speaking with dissatisfaction.

”If in your eyes, only something that possesses the power to destroy Magnolia Town can be called something that possesses the power to destroy a town, then I think creatures like the ones you imagine simply do not exist in this world!”

”Donʼt you understand just how ridiculous the defenses of Magnolia Town are?!”

After hearing Gajeelʼs words, Lucyʼs eyes twitched as she could not help but complain.

Although Magnolia Town looked ordinary, the problem was that there was a Mage Guild called Fairy Tail in the town?!

According to Makarov, Mirajane, and the others, the strength of the seven strongest members of Fairy Tail was enough to add seven pages about them to the Book of Apocalypse!

They were all monsters among monsters...

Even the Black Dragon Acnologia recorded in legends within the Book of Apocalypse was probably nothing more than that, right?!

”Hey! Are you Lullaby?”

Just as Lucy was crazily complaining about Fairy Tailʼs situation in her heart, Natsu had already arrived in front of Lullaby at some unknown time.

”Huh? Brat, arenʼt you afraid of me?”

Lullaby lowered his body, looked at Natsu, and asked angrily.

”Huh? Why should I be afraid of you?”

Natsu moved his muscles and looked at Lullaby while asking.

”Huh?!”

”Do you know who I am?”

”I am the great Demon created by the Black Wizard Zeref!”

After hearing Natsuʼs words, Lullabyʼs eyes twitched, and then he roared at Natsu.

”I know!”

”Iʼm also Zerefʼs younger brother. So what?”

”Is this something worth being proud of?”

After hearing Lullabyʼs words, Natsu frowned and asked suspiciously.

”What did you say? You are Lord Zerefʼs younger brother?”

”Pfft hahahaha...”

”Donʼt make me laugh. How could someone like you possibly be that personʼs younger brother?”

After hearing Natsuʼs words, Lullaby suddenly burst into laughter. He laughed wildly, and his words were filled with disdain toward Natsu.

”Natsu really is Zerefʼs younger brother. I have a photo as proof~”

Happy looked at Lullaby, who was laughing so hard he was leaning backward and forward after hearing Natsuʼs words. He flapped his small wings and flew into the sky while taking out a photograph from the bag behind him.

That photograph was taken last year when Zeref came to Fairy Tail Guild and participated in the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial...

”This is...”

Lullaby stared at the photograph Happy handed him and was instantly stunned.

The photograph showed Zeref smiling while meeting with Natsu and the others...

”Z, Z, Z...Zeref-sama!”

”Why? Why do you have a photograph of Lord Zeref?!”

Although Lullaby was an early and inferior creation of Zeref, he had at least seen Zeref himself. Therefore, the moment he saw the photograph Happy handed him, he recognized the young man with short black hair and clothes resembling those of an ethnic minority.

He absolutely could not be mistaken. That black-haired young man was his great creator, the greatest Black Wizard in the Ishgar Continent and even the entire Earth-land world, Lord Zeref Dragneel!

”I already told you, Iʼm that guy Zerefʼs younger brother! My name is Natsu, Natsu Dragneel...”

Natsu looked at the confused Lullaby, raised his eyebrows, and felt that Lullaby was probably not very intelligent. He had already told Lullaby the reason, yet Lullaby was still repeatedly asking him questions.

”You, you really are Lord Zerefʼs younger brother?!”

”Then you...are my master!”

At this moment, Lullaby looked at Natsu with fear in his eyes. His legs went weak, and he directly fell to his knees.

”What situation is this? That Lullaby actually knelt before a Fairy Tail Mage?!”

”What? Fairy Tail Mages are things even more terrifying than Demons created by Zeref!”

”Itʼs confirmed! The greatest darkness in this world is Fairy Tail...”

At the same time, after Lullaby appeared, the presidents of the Mage Guilds who had all hidden behind the villa looked at Lullaby kneeling before Natsu and discussed in horror.

”Hehe...”

Just as Lullaby was shocked, the fourth Guild Master of Fairy Tail Guild, Magic King August, stepped in front of Lullaby and Natsu.

”Hmm?!”

Lullabyʼs pupils trembled as he looked at August in front of him.

”What terrifying Magic Power is this?!”

”Is this truly a power that humans can control?”

”It is almost no weaker than our great master, Zeref!”

”After several hundred years without appearing in the world, has this era already become so terrifying?”

Lullaby was shocked by the enormous Magic Power within Augustʼs body. He widened his eyes and continued sighing in amazement.

”How do you plan to deal with this thing?!”

Just as Lullaby was sighing, Evan and Erza also walked in front of Lullaby.

After looking Lullaby up and down, Evan first asked August.

”Uh...”

”Another existence whose strength is comparable to my master...”

”No! The power of the person before me might even surpass my master?!”

”Too dangerous. This era is truly too dangerous!”

Looking at Evan in front of him, Lullabyʼs body trembled uncontrollably. The moment he saw Evan, he felt fear originating from instinct!

As a collection of Magic Barrier Particles, Lullaby was extremely sensitive toward Magic Power and strength. He could feel the terrifying power within Evanʼs body, a power comparable to Zerefʼs and even surpassing Zerefʼs.

”In fact, when His Majesty Zeref created Lullaby, he was not trying to curse and kill others...”

”Lord Zeref has always been a gentle person. He dislikes killing! The reason he created Lullaby was simply because he wanted to create a flute that could play beautiful music at any time and help people enter dreams. This is also the origin of the name Lullaby. It was only because Lord Zeref contained the Curse of Ankhseram God within his body! This Curse tormented Lord Zeref every moment, and even invaded the depths of Lord Zerefʼs heart, causing the magic Lord Zeref created out of love to all fall into weapons of slaughter...”

August looked at Evan with a helpless expression and explained the origin of Lullaby, also known as the lullaby.

”This...”

After hearing Augustʼs words, Lullaby was shocked. One had to know that in this world, there were only two people who knew his origin. One was Zeref himself, and the other was himself...

Lullaby could first confirm that he had never told anyone the origin of his name. In other words, the only person who could have told this human elder about his origin was his creator, Zeref himself.

Lullaby instantly understood. The old man before him knew his great creator, the Black Wizard Zeref...

”So August, how do you plan to deal with this Demon?”

Evan continued looking at August and asked.

To be honest, the current Lullaby was simply too weak. It was so weak that he was too lazy to even give this thing to Mirajane and let Mirajane absorb it...

Currently possessing the souls of the majority of the Nine Demon Gates, as well as the souls of the Underworld Beast and the Underworld King Mard Geer, Mirajane truly did not need this kind of trash Demon Soul to increase her strength anymore...

Even if Mirajane obtained Lullabyʼs ability, it would only increase her party skills a little!

Uh, when he thought of party skills, Evan thought of a certain blue goddess representing wisdom, who had maxed out all her party skills.

”After all, it is a Demon created by His Majesty Zeref. Destroying it like this would be too wasteful!”

”Letʼs take it back and use it as an automatic loudspeaker for parties. With Lullaby, we wonʼt need a band anymore. We can save quite a lot of money whenever we hold parties in the future!”

August truly deserved to be the man serving as Fairy Tail Guild Master.

After serving as Fairy Tailʼs Guild Master for a year, August had already begun gradually becoming like Makarov. If money could be saved, then money would absolutely not be spent...

”Then itʼs decided~”

”After all, you are the Guild Master, August~”

After hearing Augustʼs words, Evan lightly nodded, agreeing with August.

”Then from today onward, Lullaby, you are a member of our Fairy Tail Guild~”

”Feel honored! From today onward, all music in Magnolia Town will be performed by you~”

August smiled at Lullaby with his hands behind his back.

”Uh...”

”Guild Master, performing music for Magnolia Town is completely fine!”

”But how do I take vacations? How many hours do I have to work a day?”

Lullaby was quite intelligent. He had already figured out Augustʼs identity, so he asked August.

”The benefits of our Fairy Tail Guild are quite good!”

”How about this! During the day, you perform designated songs, and at night, you play lullabies!”

August thought for a moment and looked at Lullaby with a smile.

”Eh?! Then when do I rest?”

Lullaby was stunned for a moment and looked at August.

”Lullaby, listen to what nonsense you are saying?! Do you know what your name means? Your name is Lullaby, which means lullaby! The purpose Lord Zeref created you was to sing lullabies for the world...so for you, being able to freely sing lullabies isnʼt a blessing?!”

”Young Demon! Do not only think about resting! Do not only think about things that are harmful to Magnolia Townʼs development. Remember, working 24 hours every day is not a form of hardship for you, but a blessing! You should properly enjoy your current efforts. When you reach my position, even if you want to work hard, you will no longer have the opportunity...”

August looked at Lullaby with an expression of disappointment, feeling that this Demonʼs awareness was still not high enough. As a Demon created by Zeref, he should have been prepared to sacrifice himself for Lord Zeref.

”...”

Lullaby was silent.

”Lullaby, donʼt throw a tantrum. After all, you donʼt want to be scrapped right here, do you?!”

August moved his neck and looked at Lullaby with a smiling expression.

”Threat! This is a blatant threat!”

”Devil!”

”He is even more of a devil than a Demon!”

”Compared to that brat called Natsu, I feel that you are the one who inherited Lord Zerefʼs bloodline...”

After hearing Augustʼs words, Lullaby shivered.

In Lullabyʼs opinion, a Demon should have the Fire Demon END tattooed on its body, END should have the Fairy Tail mark tattooed on him, and the Fairy Tail mark should have August tattooed on it. Without a doubt, what kind of Fairy Tail was this? This was a place even darker than Demons...

Uh, it seemed like there was nothing wrong with that?!

”Looks like you have already made your choice~”

August looked at the silent Lullaby with a smile.

”...”

Lullaby thought that he might as well be killed directly!

Of course, Lullaby only dared to complain about this a few times in his heart. Who knew whether these evil existences from Fairy Tail Guild would develop terrifying punishments that could make people wish they were dead...

Although he already felt like he was wishing he were dead right now...

”Presidents of the Mage Guilds of the Kingdom of Fiore, everyone donʼt be afraid~”

”Lullaby has already been completely subdued by us Fairy Tail Guild Mages~”

”From today onward, he is our guildʼs pet...”

After Lullaby gave in, August smiled and spoke to the group of Mage Guild presidents who had already run to the back mountain of the villa.

”It is precisely because Lullaby has been completely subdued by Fairy Tail that we are afraid!”

”What Light Mage Guild would keep a Demon as a pet?! And you still say you are not a Dark Mage Guild!”

”Not pretending anymore? Youʼre revealing your true colors now, right?”

After August finished speaking, the guild presidents all complained almost roaringly.
