My Youth Began With Him

“I…” Huo Mian suddenly didn’t know what to say.

“You don’t need to say anything else right now, just tell me if you will be happy or not,” asked Su Yu.

“Of course I’ll be happy for you. I feel the same way as Little Bean, Pudding, Grandpa Su, and Uncle and Auntie Su. You shouldn’t spend the rest of your life alone…” said Huo Mian slowly.

“Well, if it makes you happy, then I’ll agree to it.”

“Huh?” Huo Mian was confused seeing Su Yu being this easy to convince, which rarely happened.

“I promise. Just arrange a time for a meeting and then let me know. Thanks for the lunch. Mian, you need to rest well and take care of yourself.”

Afterward, Su Yu stood up and left.

After he walked all the way out, Huo Mian came back to her thoughts, and she felt that Su Yu was acting a bit sad today. Was it too cruel for her to do what she did?

Huo Mian was in a huge dilemma.

After a busy afternoon, it was finally time to get off work. Huo Mian didn’t have a car to drive because her car was sent off to be fixed.

“Dr. Huo, let me give you a ride. I know you live at South Hill Manor. Though it’s not on the way, I can drop you off close to Wanxi Road to take the subway, which should be more convenient. Otherwise, during rush hour, you might be stuck in traffic and that will take too much time.”

When Liu Ze parked his shiny purple Ferrari in front of Huo Mian, it was really eye-catching.

“No thanks, Dr. Liu. I already called my husband and he will come to pick me up.”

“Ah …okay…”

Afterward, Liu Ze took off in his car.

Only after that did Huo Mian slowly take out her phone. In fact, she had just lied – she hadn’t called Mr. Qin yet.

She took out her phone and called Qin Chu’s cell phone, but it was off. Maybe it was dead. Then she called the office line.

“Young Madam…” his assistant Yang picked up the call.

“Where is my husband?”

“President Qin is having an emergency meeting. There are some tricky issues with the project and the partners sent someone to discuss a solution with President Qin.”

“What? What happened? Is it serious?” Huo Mian started to worry.

“Not serious. Just some ratios were a little off. But President Qin is always seeking perfection, so he pointed this out as a serious matter.”

“That’s good.”

“Young Madam, do you have anything urgent to talk to him about? President Qin’s cell phone is being charged. Do I need to bring it over to him?”

“No need. Nothing urgent. Just let him concentrate, don’t bother him.”

Tes, Ma’am.”

After hanging up, Huo Mian pinched her nose. It seems like she actually would need to call a taxi today.

As she was thinking, she waved to stop a taxi.

It turned out that just as Liu Ze said, there were huge traffic jams everywhere, possibly due to the weather.

In the north, once it started snowing, the traffic would immediately freeze due to the slippery road conditions.

There were about five months of winter in C City, so the cycles of snow were long.

Young lady, there’s too much traffic here. Is that okay if I circle around to another route? There won’t be a huge difference in the overall fare. And you don’t look like someone lacking money, so if you agree, I’ll take the little alleyway. If you don’t, that’s fine too. We can wait here, and you don’t need to worry.”

The taxi driver was impatient, so he was sweating in the traffic jam.

“Yes, you can circle around.” Huo Mian was eager to get home too. No one would want to wait in such snowy weather. After they both agreed, the driver cut several little alleyways and took another route.

What was unexpected was that Huo Mian would see someone familiar when passing by a quiet little alley.

“Sir, please pull over…” said Huo Mian.
