My Youth Began With Him

“Please insert ‘a brave and kind heart’,” Huo Mian said decisively.

Nie Lingxuan was slightly surprised by Huo Mian’s response. She then smiled and said, “Doctor Huo, you really are a wise person. Thank you for the lesson.”

This isn’t just some random framework. I meant every word of it. Although Su Yu’s temper isn’t the best and the public says he’s arrogant and overbearing, he is very kind at his core. If you get to know him, you’ll be able to find many good traits in him. Such a kind man, of course, would love a kind woman,” Huo Mian analyzed.

“I understand now. Thank you so much, Doctor Huo, for telling me all this.”

You’re welcome. It’s the fate that brought you here. Also, about your health, I need to do further analysis. When you have time, please complete a few surveys for me so I can better understand what your current mental state is at and help you create a better recuperation plan.”

“Thank you, Doctor Huo.”

“You’re welcome. Oh, one more thing. Does Xixi call home often?” Huo Mian asked.

Yeah. My sister seems to be doing quite well in the States. Although my parents miss her, they know she’s pursuing her own happiness, so they’re okay with it. You know her temper too. She’s a bit stubborn. I’m actually quite like her. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been single for the whole three years that I spent studying abroad.”

“I understand. Xixi’s a nice girl. Her boyfriend will take good care of her.” Huo Mian smiled.

After Nie Lingxuan left, Huo Mian continued on with her busy day. Although it was always busy at the hospital, she was very happy.

Becoming a doctor was her biggest dream, especially when she found out about her real identity. She heard that her parents, Professor Lu and her biological mother, were both exceptional doctors. She was proud of them. It was ten minutes before she could get off work, and she had been busy the whole afternoon.

Huo Mian picked up her phone and was about to call someone. Suddenly, she saw someone send her a WeChat message.

It was her old class representative, Han Xu. They had not talked for a long time.

Han Xu: “Huo Mian, are you there?”

Huo Mian: “Hi Class Rep. I’m here. What’s up?”

Han Xu: The situation is like this: we’re going to have a class reunion soon. We hope that you and Qin Chu can come.”

Huo Mian: “A class reunion…”

It had been a long time since someone mentioned “class reunion” to Huo Mian, so she was a bit hesitant. She was hesitant because she had not kept in touch with many of her classmates and she did not get along back in the days with many of them.

Of all her classmates, Zhu Lingling was her best friend, and they already saw each other often.

That was why a class reunion was not something attractive to Huo Mian.

Just when she was about to say no to the offer, Han Xu wrote, “Ever since you and Qin Chu got married, you have been on the road to success. You live a Cinderella story. Haha… Normally, we don’t want to bother you guys because we don’t live in the same world. I heard that you’re the deputy director of South Side. You’re amazing! We know that it’s hard for you guys to accept our invitation, but we hope that you could come to our reunion. Liu Ze is coming back to China too, so it’s a rare chance for all of us to attend the reunion. I didn’t have enough courage to call you. Also, our classmates joked around and said that even if I was the class representative, you two won’t care and won’t show up… Haha…”

“Class Rep, please don’t say that. Actually, we’re…” Han Xu’s message made Huo Mian hesitate whether to reject the invitation or not.

“It’s really fine, Huo Mian. I won’t make it difficult for you. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to. However, it is my responsibility as the class representative to invite you guys to our reunion. Of course, we know that you are established figures now and are very busy people. I understand if you can’t make it.”

Han Xu was a worldly person and was adept with his rhetoric. What he said had evidently made it hard for Huo Mian to decline.

She did not want to go but if she didn’t go, she would be disrespecting the class representative. Their classmates would probably say that since she was rich now, she wouldn’t bother to socialize with her old classmates.

Han Xu continued to write, “Liu Ze also emphasized that he really wanted to see you and told me to invite you no matter what. Haha…”
