My Youth Began With Him

“You’re saying…” Qiao Fei didn’t expect Lu Yan would have crazy thoughts like this.

“That’s right. I’d rather go see my family than run around all over the world.”

“But aren’t you afraid of getting them into trouble? Especially your older sister…”

“I can’t be afraid all my life. You know that Ian has started investigating. Sooner or later, he will get to Sis. We may not be able to hide this for long. It’s better to face it directly than to live and worry about it every day.”

“Even if you say so, I still think you’re being too impetuous.”

“Qiao Fei, I’m scared… if, if… I…” Before Lu Yan finished her sentence, Qiao Fei walked over, took the initiative to hold her hand, and put it beside his lips.

“Don’t overthink too much. I’m here for you.”

He knew what Lu Yan wanted to say, but he wouldn’t let her say such pessimistic words. As long as he was still alive, he wouldn’t make anything happen to Lu Yan.

Lu Yan felt warm after she heard his words. The longer time she spent with Qiao Fei, the more she found out that although he didn’t talk much, he wasn’t less caring than anyone else. He would even do a better job of caring for people than most.

What she wanted to say was that she was afraid that she may get killed someday and won’t be able to see her family one last time.

Her dad, older sister, and the pair of smart yet bizarre nieces.

Qiao Fei didn’t let her talk. That was why she felt this man cared about her very much.

The two didn’t have time to eat. They simply put away their luggage and left Mumbai in a hurry.

After getting a broken pickup truck, Qiao Fei and Lu Yan drove it through three cities.

Then, they took a flight and got rid of the people chasing after them.

Sir, they got away…” a soldier spoke in Indonesian.

Bastard,” an old Indonesian officer got up in anger, slammed the table, and yelled at his subordinate.

“You guys are a bunch of good-for-nothings. You can’t even catch a woman.”

“Sir, she’s not an ordinary woman. That woman’s something. Those killers, who went for the bounty, also died by her hands.”

“I don’t want to listen to any explanation. Keep chasing her.”

Yes, Sir.”

When the soldiers left, Ian and his subordinate just walked in.

“Officer Merck, what a spicy temper!” Ian laughed.

“Master Ian, you’re here,” the officer greeted Ian politely when he saw him walking in.

“How’s it going? I heard you had a lead on Lu Yan?” Ian leaned on the sofa and asked inattentively.

Yes, but they got away. I sent a lot of people to Mumbai, but…” The officer seemed ashamed as he spoke.

“Don’t be frustrated. It’s normal that you can’t kill Lu Yan. If she could be killed easily by you, she wouldn’t be a top- notch mercenary.”

Yes, you’re right, Master Ian.”

“Let’s do this… Have your people hold back for a while and stop messing things up. Leave Lu Yan to me. I want her to be alive.”

“Are you after that woman too, Master Ian?”

Yes, she has great use to me,” Ian laughed mysteriously.

“Alright. I’ll send her whereabouts to you.” After the officer finished talking, he took an advanced GPS tracker and handed it over to Ian.

“According to the tracker, she has already transferred to Israel with her partner, and we expect her to arrive in five hours.”

“Partner? Oh, that’s right, I would’ve forgotten about it if you didn’t mention it. That kid from the Qiao Family has left his family to be with her,” Ian said slowly while resting his head on his hand.

“Boss, do you need us to deploy a capture-and-kill plan in Israel? That’s our territory,” the subordinate beside Ian whispered in his ear.
