My Youth Began With Him

“Huo Mian, are you saying you’re unwilling to help?” Shen Mingxi said grudgingly.

“My spirit is willing, but my body is weak. I simply do not have the ability to help you,” Huo Mian responded directly. “Yanyan, get up, let’s go.”

“No, Huo Mian. Please, I’m begging you. This is the last time, I promise. Please, can you please do me this favor because I helped Little Bean before?” It was only natural for Huo Yanyan to play the pity card first, and then to whip out the favor card after it failed.

Seeing that Huo Mian said nothing, Huo Yanyan continued, __I know you have the right outlook of the world, and that you despise a homewrecker like me. I know you think I’m the third person that ruined Mingxi and Wei Ying’s marriage. After all, Wei Ying is Mr. Wei’s little sister, Dr. Jiang’s sister-in-law. You’re close with them, so you look down on me. It’s all normal.”

“I don’t look down on you, Yanyan. You need to speak from your conscience, you know the truth is not like that.” Huo Mian was surprised that Huo Yanyan twisted the truth so much in trying to spite her in going to find Huo Siqian. Huo Mian never thought she could be this manipulative, even though she was doing it for the sake of her daughter

“Forget it, Yanyan. We should stop begging. Not everyone understands the concept of being grateful. You saved her daughters once, but she might not do the same for you. Not a lot of women are as innocent and kind as you. Let’s go. Worst comes to worst, I will fight Huo Siqian with my life. I won’t let anything happen to our kid,” Shen Mingxi spoke harshly as if other than Huo Yanyan, all women on Earth were unkind and evil.

As Shen Minxi was trying to drag Huo Yanyan out the door, Huo Mian closed her eyes and sighed heavily. “Fine, I will help you.”

“Mian, you are willing to help me?” Huo Yanyan turned her head abruptly, a flash of joy appearing in her eyes.

“Yes, I will help you, but this is the last time. After all, like you said, you saved my daughters once. Now it’s my turn to return the favor.”

“That’s not what I mean… I… I just want to save my daughter.”

“No need to explain, I understand.” Huo Mian followed them out and locked the office door.

“I will go and find Huo Siqian now; you guys can wait at home. He usually keeps his word, so the kid should be fine.

Also, you guys better go now and don’t let my husband find out that you came looking for me. Or else, he will never let the two of you go.” Huo Mian scanned Huo Yanyan and Shen Mingxi’s faces coldly and walked away.

Yes, if Mr. Qin were to somehow find out that the two of them convinced Huo Mian to visit Huo Siqian alone, he would surely be furious. Forget Qin Chu, if Su Yu found out, he would be angry too.

The reason Huo Mian was infuriated and didn’t want to help Huo Yanyan was that she thought the way Huo Yanyan handled this situation was incredibly annoying.

She had warned her repeatedly to leave Huo Siqian alone, yet Huo Yanyan wouldn’t listen. Now that there was trouble, Huo Yanyan was expecting her to clean up the mess.

It was rather pitiful that Huo Yanyan was a single parent, but you reap what you sowed.

In Huo Mian’s heart, she did not pity her at all. Just like she said, this would be the last time she would be helping Huo Yanyan, all for the sake of returning the favor to Huo Yanyan for letting her kids go when they were in the hands of Huo

Yanyan, cheer up. Huo Siqian will surely let our kid go if Huo Mian pays a visit,” Shen Mingxi comforted Huo Yanyan. The two of them left South Side and drove away.

Before heading out to a hotel, Huo Mian used a coworker’s phone and gave Huo Siqian a call.

She had a feeling that this time, things were not as simple as paying Huo Siqian a visit. She had a feeling something was about to happen.

Her heart grew heavy as she drove on.
