Global Lords: I Have Information System

The powerful display engines in the M1 Pro and M1 Max drive multiple external displays, while additional Thunderbolt controllers provide more I/O bandwidth.

The CPU performance of M1 Pro leads Intel i7-10800H by approximately 35%.

According to the PPT on Apple’s official website, the CPU performance of M1 Pro is about 35% ahead of Intel i7-10800H, and the GPU is equivalent to the full-power RTX 3050Ti. The full-power GPU performance of M1 Max can even rival the RTX 3080 Mobile Version under a 130W power consumption.

Furthermore, under the same performance, the power consumption of Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max is much lower.

According to the data leaked on the Geekbench platform, the full-power version of M1 Max scores 1749 points in single-core and 11542 points in multi-core. As a reference, the scores for the M1 version are 1729/7459.

The performance of M1 Max completely outshines all previous Intel versions of the MacBook, with multi-core performance that can even rival the 12-core Xeon W-3235 processor on the 2019 Mac Pro.

Faced with these two chips that have ”shaken the market,” Intel’s CEO even stated, ”It’s no wonder Apple abandoned us, trying to win them back with stronger chips.

Based on the performance of Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max, it seems very challenging for Intel to regain Apple’s partnership.

The two MacBook Pro models that closed the show

Since there are such powerful chips, they must be matched with more powerful computers. The new generation of MacBook Pro debuts in 16.2-inch and 14.2-inch versions.

As rumored, the new generation MacBook Pro adopts a new keyboard, the TouchBar is gone, the MagSafe charging port returns, the SD card reader is back, the HDMI interface is back, the metal body features straight + rounded corners reminiscent of the 2010 version MacBook Pro, with a slightly retro flavor. The official claims the cooling system can expel 50% more air, making the cooling more noticeable.

But its internal parts are an entirely different matter: the chip is new, the interface meets higher standards, and the screen has been replaced with mini-LED, still a high-refresh display. It supports 120Hz Promotion dynamic refresh.

This screen inherits all the excellent features of mini-LED, reaching a brightness of 1000 nits, with peak brightness reaching 1600 nits. It’s also equipped with a better 1080P front camera. In terms of sound quality, it includes 2 high-frequency speakers, 4 low-frequency speakers that increase bass by 80%, and supports spatial audio. Additionally, it features ”studio-quality microphones.” The screen borders are narrower, with only 3.5 mm of ”black bezel.”

Notably, this laptop surprisingly has a notch.

In terms of battery life, the official claims that the 14-inch MacBook Pro can watch videos for up to 14 hours, and the 16-inch up to 21 hours, while also supporting fast charging, with 50% charge in 30 minutes. For many friends who grew up in rural areas, the most memorable delicacy of childhood is undoubtedly wild fruits, because the past era was still incomparable to now. In the past, there was hardly any money to buy snacks to eat, but the rural environment at that time was good, with many wild plants, naturally bringing a lot of delicious wild fruits.

It’s estimated that the vast majority of friends who grew up in rural areas can readily name several tasty wild fruits, such as mulberries (桑葚), prickly pearls, trifoliate orange, sour dates, ground pomegranates, etc. Among these wild fruits, some not only taste good but can also be further processed into juices, fruit wines, jams, dried fruits, and some can serve as Chinese herbal medicines. Therefore, in recent years, growers have actively developed their cultivation, like mulberries being vigorously planted in many regions.

However, some wild fruits, due to people’s hype, quickly became popular in the market a few years ago, ascended the ”altar,” but in the last two years have fallen from grace. The most typical example is the ”Raspberry.”

The Raspberry is a wild fruit very similar to prickly pearls, with a fruiting period later than prickly pearls, usually in June and July. The taste of Raspberry is also quite good; not only is it sweet, but the juice is also very abundant. Therefore, in the past, it was one of the wild fruits loved by many rural kids. Every year, as the season arrived, they would inevitably go to the countryside or the mountains to pick and eat them.

As a delicious wild fruit in many childhood memories of rural friends, Raspberries can not only be eaten directly but are also a kind of Chinese medicinal material. Due to its high value, the economic benefits of planting are also high, and a few years ago, the market conditions were very good. Many growers also tamed wild Raspberries for artificial cultivation, and its planting scale development was very rapid.

There are records that from 2016 to 2017, the Raspberry market soared, with fresh fruit selling for more than 50 yuan per jin on the market, and when sold dry as Chinese medicine, the purchase price even rose to over 100 yuan per jin. By the end of 2017, just four years ago, the purchase price also peaked, reaching nearly 200 yuan per jin.

The high price also drove the Raspberry market to boom, yet after 2018, Raspberry’s market conditions sharply declined, with prices continuously dropping. By this year, the price has fallen to a low point, with fresh fruit purchase prices less than 5 yuan, dried Raspberry (青果) purchase prices only around 10 yuan per jin, and in some regions, the purchase price has dropped to just 4 yuan per jin, prompting many farmers to cease cultivation directly, as selling or not selling both result in loss.

So, why did the Raspberry, which was still booming in the market four years ago, experience a price crash? The main reasons are twofold.

First, production capacity expanded too quickly.

In our country’s agriculture, there has always been an unfavorable phenomenon where many people follow trends in planting whatever becomes popular, such as sunshine rose grapes and Bebe pumpkins, and the Raspberry has encountered the same situation.
