Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 143: Chapter 143: Ten Thousand Realms Hall’s Taichu Bares Its Fangs

After personally dealing with Yue Jingtian, War Venerable Wutian remained standing in the shadows outside the airport.

”Where did Fatty Yang run off to?”

”Reporting, sir. The kid found a boat and has already made it to the high seas. It looks like he’s trying to flee to the Southeast Countries!”

War Venerable Wutian sneered and took out his phone.

”Get me the Ten Thousand Realms Hall!”

One of the Night Emperor’s Five Palaces, the Ten Thousand Realms Hall was as renowned as the Dark Prison Hall.

It was also one of the most mysterious organizations!

Just then, a hoarse voice came through the line. ”Boss Wutian, to what do I owe the pleasure? By the way, is the Master well? I’ve been operating abroad all these years and haven’t had a chance to go back and pay my respects.”

”Taichu, cut the chatter. All the brothers miss you, but right now, this is business.”

The man on the other end immediately laughed. ”What kind of business? You know my mission—to control the underworld forces abroad and handle intelligence. I’ve become a person of major interest to various foreign countries now. Ha! I just received a gift from an Arabian crown prince. It’s a pretty nice private yacht. Should I save it for you?”

Wutian was speechless. ”Living the good life, aren’t you? This is serious business—an order from the Master!”

The leader of the Ten Thousand Realms Hall, Taichu, was instantly galvanized.

His voice turned grave. ”Taichu here, awaiting instructions!”

”There’s a target who has escaped by boat to the high seas, heading for the Southeast Countries. Your orders are to intercept him. He is to be taken dead, not alive. Dispose of him as you see fit!”

The details of Fatty Yang’s boat and his file were sent to Taichu.

Once Wutian confirmed that everything was in order, he hurried away.

He still had to secretly report to Qin Tianxuan about the great clans in the Imperial Capital joining forces to investigate the Night Emperor.

「Meanwhile, on the high seas, far beyond the waters of Da Xia.」

A cargo ship cut through the waves.

Clutching a large leather bag, Fatty Yang lay shivering among the cargo, his hair plastered to his forehead.

He was shivering uncontrollably from the cold, but his heart gradually began to calm.

’Fuck!’

’What shitty luck. To think that Han Biwei had such a powerful backer.’

’I was so fucking blinded by greed.’

’But thank goodness I bolted the moment I saw things going south.’

’And it’s all thanks to my sister for tipping me off and preparing a pile of cash for me.’

Fatty Yang felt the cash inside his leather bag, a growing sense of calm washing over him.

He stood up to take a piss, then took a long, hard swig of the liquor he’d brought along.

He even started to feel a sense of deluded optimism, as if surviving this disaster meant good fortune was sure to follow.

”Fuck!”

He leaped to his feet, pointing in the direction of Da Xia. ”I don’t give a damn what kind of backers you have! I still got away without a scratch, didn’t I?”

”The Night Emperor? So what? You think he can sprout wings and drop down from the sky?”

”The Five Palaces and Nine Armies can kiss my ass! Once I get to the Southeast Countries, I’ll have money, I’ll have women, and I’ll live it up just the same.”

He cursed and ranted, finding it the only way to suppress the terror lurking in his heart.

But suddenly, a piercing alarm blared across the ship.

Out on the dark sea, a behemoth emerged from the depths like a sea monster.

One vessel, then two...

’Is... is that a warship?’

’How is that possible?’

The cargo ship was cornered in a narrow channel of water.

Terrified, Fatty Yang scrambled to hide in a gap between shipping containers, his hands pressed together, endlessly praying for the Buddha’s protection.

Then came the sound of people forcing their way aboard!

A commotion erupted shortly after.

A searchlight swept across the deck.

Then came the sound of heavy footsteps.

Dark figures appeared, their mocking laughter echoing in the air.

”Look at this one hiding under the cargo container, like a turtle in its shell.”

’Ah, that’s familiar-sounding Chinese!’

’Are they friendly?’

Fatty Yang, who had thought he’d run into pirates, emerged holding his bag up and screamed, ”We’re countrymen! I’m one of the Da Xia People, not an enemy! I’m not an enemy!”

He looked up sheepishly, but the lights facing him were so bright he couldn’t see a thing.

An imposing silhouette emerged.

The area fell silent.

”Lord Taichu, we’ve confirmed it. This is the guy!”

”Mm...” Taichu’s voice was exceptionally grim. ”Fatty Yang, is it? Don’t you say a word. I’ll do the talking.”

The figure leaned down, looking at Fatty Yang. ”I serve the Night Emperor. I am the leader of the Ten Thousand Realms Hall, and I was sent to find you. The Master has sent word: you are to be taken dead, not alive, and left entirely to my disposal!”

’Oh, god...’

A dripping sound started coming from Fatty Yang’s trousers as he collapsed onto the deck in a heap.

Taichu let out a soft chuckle. ”I’m not like the Master’s other subordinates. My favorite hobby is torturing people. In their words, I’m a complete sadist. Heh heh... so, shall we play a little game?”

Fatty Yang was scared out of his wits.

A bloodcurdling discussion reached his ears.

”The last guy... Lord Taichu tortured him for a full seven days and nights. He ended up killing himself because he couldn’t take it anymore. Let’s make a bet: you think this fatty can break that record?”

”Haha, hard to say. He looks like a real coward, but with all that blubber, I bet the Lord could keep him going for eight, maybe ten days.”

Fatty Yang began foaming at the mouth, his entire body convulsing.

There was something more terrifying than death: being unable to die even when you begged for it.

A moment later, a bloodcurdling scream echoed from the cargo ship. But against the vast, dark expanse of the sea, it was quickly swallowed by the silence...

Back in Su City, outside Tianren Hospital, Prince reported to Qin Tianxuan in a low voice, ”Fatty Yang has been captured. Taichu is dealing with him now.”

Even Prince couldn’t help but frown at the mention of Taichu’s name.

Qin Tianxuan merely nodded. ”Understood.”

He strode into the hospital lobby, and just as he was about to look for Weiwei’s room, he heard a clear, crisp voice say, ”Don’t call me ’Young Miss.’ This is a hospital, and I’m here to see a patient. That’s right, the patient’s name is Han Biwei. Who was that little girl that just went in? Is that Han Biwei’s daughter? And what about her man? Is his name Qin Tianxuan?”

It was Ye Xuanxuan, that clingy little vixen. She had suddenly appeared.
