Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: The Han Family’s Conspiracy, Weiwei’s Desperate Situation

Han Biwei was indeed in deep trouble.

The kind of trouble that spelled utter despair!

Ever since Qin Tianxuan had rushed off to the Northern Domain, all sorts of rumors about the Northern Domain Battle Department had been circulating.

The word was that many had died, that many brave soldiers had made the ultimate sacrifice!

Han Biwei was terrified during those days. She used every connection she had, trying to get information on Qin Tianxuan’s situation.

As it turned out, they couldn’t find anyone by the name of Qin Tianxuan in the Northern Domain at all!

It wasn’t Weiwei’s fault. As the Night Emperor, Qin Tianxuan’s name wasn’t on the Battle Department’s roster in the first place.

Han Biwei suffered from insomnia every night and couldn’t eat a thing, so she went to see her best friend, Yuan Jingjing.

Yuan Jingjing had already resigned from Changshan Company and hadn’t been doing much lately. She was still a bit embarrassed about the incident with the Li Family Company.

But when Weiwei told her about Qin Tianxuan, Jingjing was horrified.

She grabbed Weiwei’s hand, her body trembling. ”If they can’t find Brother Qin’s name... then there’s only... only one possibility... It means... it means he was killed in action!”

Han Biwei nearly fainted.

The foolish girl even started crying herself.

Somehow, this misunderstanding got out.

Before long, even some junior employees at the Dongshen Financial Group believed that Han Biwei’s husband had been killed in action while serving in the Northern Domain Battle Department.

The company’s logistics department even sent people to offer their condolences to Han Biwei.

Naturally, the news also reached the Han Family!

At this point, the Han Family was in dire straits.

The money from selling their house and car had barely patched one hole, but more creditors were already showing up at their door.

Things eventually got so bad that someone even threw red paint on the Han Family’s only remaining villa.

Han Qianqian spent her days in tears, and the old matriarch and the others lived in a constant state of terror.

It was then that Li Xiaohai called another family meeting.

Stroking the stubble on his chin, his eyes bloodshot, he said, ”I’ve been thinking long and hard. There’s only one brilliant plan that can save us now!”

”Xiaohai, just hurry and tell us! We’re scared to death! Our biggest creditor is threatening to send people to trash the house!”

Li Xiaohai gave a sinister laugh. ”My plan is diabolically simple. We make Han Biwei the legal representative of the Han Family Business!”

What?!

Everyone shot to their feet.

”Give the family business to *that* Han Biwei?”

”Sit down, all of you, and let me finish!” Li Xiaohai exclaimed excitedly. ”Right now, your Han Family Business isn’t worth a single penny. On the contrary, it’s saddled with two billion in debt! It’s a liability, don’t you understand?”

That much was true.

”So, if we sign the Han Corporation over to Han Biwei, the creditors will go after her. Any lawsuits will be her problem. And us? We take the family’s remaining assets and start fresh!”

As he said this, his eyes glinted. ”And that man of Han Biwei’s—that good-for-nothing thug—died in the Northern Domain Battle Department. Ha! Good riddance. Now we have nothing to fear!”

Qin Tianxuan was too intimidating. If he weren’t dead, Li Xiaohai wouldn’t have dared to employ such a treacherous, underhanded scheme.

It was a truly vicious plot!

Terrifyingly so!

The Han family matriarch’s eyes lit up. ”Good! We’ll start over, and let Han Biwei carry those damn debts!”

But what would become of Han Biwei?

She would be hounded to death by the creditors. In the best-case scenario, she’d have to sell all her assets and go to jail!

At this, even Han Biwei’s second uncle and his wife found it too cruel. ”Weiwei has no money. Aren’t we just driving her to her death?”

SLAP! The old matriarch struck him across the face.

The old matriarch’s eyes were red with desperation. ”Everything I’m doing is for you! How many good years do I have left? Or would you rather carry a two-billion debt for the rest of your lives?”

The second uncle and his wife trembled with fear. They cast aside their hypocritical kindness and nodded in unison. ”Let’s do it.”

And so, the Han Family executed their fraudulent switch, using old identity documents Han Biwei had left behind to directly transfer ownership of the company!

They also secretly pulled some strings, bribing people in the relevant government departments.

And just like that, an oblivious Han Biwei was saddled with a two-billion debt.

It was right at this time that Weiwei received a message from Qin Tianxuan, who was recovering from his injuries.

She wept with joy to know that he was alive, but her heart ached seeing the scars on his body.

Han Biwei began to cry. ”Brother Tianxuan, come back. I don’t care how injured you are, I’ll support you. When you come back, I want to marry you, a real wedding!”

It was a heartfelt declaration!

Han Biwei’s heart filled with a sense of duty. Even if Qin Tianxuan was disabled, she would have no regrets.

However, that very evening, a group of men cornered her on her way home from work.

”You Han Biwei? We’re from a professional debt collection agency. Take a look at these documents!”

The man sneered and threw a pile of documents at her.

They were all debt notices, loan agreements, and financing documents.

Han Biwei was terrified after just a few glances.

”When did I ever borrow this much money?”

”Look closely, Han Biwei. Twenty-seven creditors, a total of two billion! You’re the legal representative for the Han Corporation now, so of course we’re coming to you!”

”The creditors have been patient for a long time, and your Han Family has been completely unreasonable. Now, we’re giving you six hours. Get us the first payment before midnight tonight. Otherwise... heh heh... as professional debt collectors, we’re capable of anything.”

Han Biwei looked at the bottom of the documents.

They all bore her signature—and every single one was a forgery.

She fainted on the spot.

When she came to, she found herself back at Frost Plum Courtyard.

Han Biwei was utterly distraught. No matter how strong-willed she was, she couldn’t withstand a blow like this!

It was an impossible, desperate situation!

She forced herself to pull it together and frantically made calls, consulting a lawyer and reporting it to the police!

She tried every possible solution.

The reality was brutal!

”Miss Han, the creditors only recognize the documents. You’re the legal representative now, so you’re the one who has to bear the debt. This is obviously a ploy by the Han Family!”

”They forged your signature and transferred the company to you just to make you the scapegoat!”

”For now, all you can do is find a way to scrape some money together to buy time. That will give us an opportunity to gather evidence and help you file a lawsuit!”

Han Biwei collapsed limply onto the bed, her phone having long since died.
