Chapter 109: Chapter 109: How Dare You Hit Me

Han Biwei picked up the gift and placed it on the table. ”I’m sorry, Teacher Chen. This might not be what you were hoping for, but it’s a token of my appreciation. Please accept it!”

If it weren’t for Niannian, Han Biwei would never have endured such humiliation.

But she was even more unwilling to lie, so she remained composed and simply told the truth.

Teacher Chen was displeased. ”What do you mean, ’what I was hoping for’? This is a gesture of goodwill from you parents. I have no choice but to accept.”

Despite her words, she snatched the gift box and greedily tore it open.

”Hm, the packaging is quite high-end!” Teacher Chen couldn’t contain her delight. ”Are these the high heels you all were talking about? That brand, Aurank, is a luxury label! I’ve wanted a pair for ages.”

The other parents all watched out of the corners of their eyes.

None of them believed Han Biwei could afford those crystal high heels, let alone buy them with her own money.

Did she even have that kind of money?

Sure enough, when the high-end box was opened, it revealed a pair of drab black shoes.

They looked refined enough, but nobody recognized the brand.

Even the ever-arrogant Ms. Zhang didn’t recognize it.

Teacher Chen touched the shoes suspiciously. No matter how she looked at them, they seemed like cheap fakes from a street stall!

One parent took out their phone to search for the brand name on the box, but only found a website that wouldn’t open.

Ms. Zhang, from the parents’ committee, was also searching on her phone. She suddenly flew into a rage. ”Han Biwei, if you couldn’t afford the crystal shoes, you should have just said so! Why did you try to fool us with this cheap junk? You’ve completely ruined this birthday banquet!”

The Black Diamond Magic Queen High Heels were custom-made from a top Western luxury brand. It would have been a miracle if this bunch of parents could find them online.

It was all because that Alice had been a little too enthusiastic, choosing a luxury brand for the gift that ordinary people wouldn’t recognize. Her good intentions had backfired.

Han Biwei said in a low voice, ”It was a token of my appreciation. I don’t have money. I’m poor, so this is all I can afford!”

’No matter what anyone else thinks, Brother Tianxuan bought these shoes for me. He worked so hard and even helped me sort out the gift. I can’t let him down.’

”Hmph!” With a cold sneer, Ms. Zhang pointed a finger right in Han Biwei’s face and scolded her. ”If you couldn’t afford it, you should have just said so! Is Teacher Chen’s party something you can just mess up? I told everyone in the group chat that we’ve been planning this birthday banquet for a long time! You’d better explain yourself.”

Han Biwei was speechless, unable to defend herself.

It was clear that Ms. Zhang and the parents’ committee were deliberately trying to humiliate her.

Meanwhile, Teacher Chen was also getting angry.

She had been looking forward to this birthday banquet for a long time, her mind fixated on the crystal shoes Ms. Zhang had promised.

And now, some dirt-poor parent had ruined everything.

Burning with fury, Teacher Chen snatched the shoes, threw open the window, and hurled them outside.

Her eyes were ice-cold. ”Do I look like the kind of person who wears cheap fakes? Let me tell you, I may just be an elementary school teacher, but my brother is the Governor’s secretary! If I wanted to, I could get a transfer to the Governor’s Mansion anytime. What am I even doing here? Honestly...”

Han Biwei bit her lip, her eyes fixed on the window. The gift Brother Tianxuan had worked so hard to get for her... thrown out like garbage by this despicable woman!

’An honors class like this... what’s the point?’

Rage. Pure, unadulterated rage!

She turned to see the other parents still pointing and whispering, while Teacher Chen shrieked, ”Don’t even think about sending your daughter to my class! Even if she gets placed there, I won’t take her!”

Han Biwei’s anger could no longer be contained. She raised her hand and swung.

A crisp SMACK! resounded.

Everyone in the room was stunned.

Teacher Chen clutched her face in disbelief. ”You... you dare hit me?”

Han Biwei grabbed the empty box and said coldly, ”We won’t be going to the honors class. You dared to throw out the shoes Brother Tianxuan bought me, so I dared to slap you. Now, get out of my way!”

In that moment, the powerful aura of the former young lady of the Han Family returned.

The parents’ committee members were all intimidated by Han Biwei’s presence, and they scrambled to get out of her way.

Han Biwei strode quickly out of the hotel, a knot of suppressed anger tight in her chest.

She found the black high heels on the road outside. The straps on both sides were bent out of shape from the fall.

Han Biwei’s heart ached.

She gently smoothed them out, fixing the straps as best she could.

Unwilling to let them go to waste, she decided to put them on herself.

’If those people look down on them, then I’ll wear them myself!’

Wearing the black high heels, she went straight to her job at the Dongshen Financial Group.

Back in the private room at the Wanxi Hotel, Teacher Chen’s face was flushed red with fury and humiliation.

How could she possibly let it go after being humiliated like that?

She immediately pulled out her phone and called her relative—the Governor’s secretary.

”Cousin, you have to help me! Someone hit me!”

”What’s wrong, sis? Did you get into trouble at school? Who would dare hit a teacher?”

”Bro, that’s why it’s so serious! Slapping my face is like slapping the face of Su City’s entire education system! You’re the Governor’s chief secretary, you have to deal with this harshly!”

”Alright, alright, I’ll handle it later. I’m with my boss at the Dongshen Financial Group right now!”

Teacher Chen hung up, annoyed. She still couldn’t stomach the insult.

”You all, tell me, where does that Han Biwei work? I’m going to get a medical report for my injuries and then go to her workplace to file a complaint!”

Ms. Zhang replied with an appeasing smile, ”Han Biwei works at the Dongshen Financial Group... Heh, she’s just a janitor who cleans toilets. There’s no need to lower yourself to her level!”

Teacher Chen stomped her foot. ”That’s perfect! My cousin is at the Dongshen Financial Group right now. I’m going over there immediately!”

The other parents’ committee members chimed in, ”That’s right, we should go to her workplace. We have to demand a proper explanation.”

And just like that, Chairman Zhang and two vice-chairmen from the parents’ committee drove Teacher Chen straight to the Dongshen Financial Group.

They were gearing up to cause a huge scene.

At that exact moment, Han Biwei had just arrived at the corporate tower. She was led to the ”exclusive restroom” she was responsible for cleaning.

Han Biwei was shocked speechless. ”This... this is the restroom I’m supposed to clean? This... is this even a restroom?”
