Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Li Xiaohai’s Last Stand

A silent night, a cozy little house.

Qin Tianxuan sat across from Han Biwei and said softly, ”Weiwei, there’s something I need to tell you.”

’Ah, why is he being so serious?’

Han Biwei instinctively sat up straighter.

Qin Tianxuan took out his phone. ”The dinner at the hotel was a setup orchestrated by Li Xiaohai. I have him under control now.”

Han Biwei’s gaze wavered. ”I’m sorry. I’ve troubled you with my family’s messy affairs.”

Qin Tianxuan said coolly, ”Han Qianqian is your cousin, and Li Xiaohai is deeply entangled with the Han Family. Ultimately, they are your relatives. So, whether they live or die is for you to decide.”

He gently slid the phone over to her. On the screen was a subordinate from the Night Emperor’s Personal Guard.

They were awaiting the final order.

Han Biwei lowered her head. ”Brother Tianxuan, I know that even though you don’t have money, you have your own ways to deal with Li Xiaohai at any time. But... but Qianqian is my cousin, after all. I grew up in the Han Family, and when we were kids, Qianqian was so good. She always called me ’Big Sis’.”

Qin Tianxuan understood.

He picked up the phone. ”Give Li Xiaohai and Han Qianqian one more chance. This is their last chance. Release them for now.”

With those few casual words, he had decided the fates of two people.

”Weiwei, the Han Family owes two billion in external debts,” Qin Tianxuan reminded her. ”You should tell your parents. It’s best if they don’t have any further dealings with the Han Family.”

With the matter settled, Han Biwei decided to stop thinking about such vexing things and happily brought up the news about Niannian getting into the advanced placement class.

”I’ve arranged for milk delivery for Niannian—the freshest kind,” Qin Tianxuan said, his tone growing heavy. ”Things might be a bit tough on you for a while. In five days, I have to go to the Northern Domain.”

Han Biwei’s body trembled. After a long silence, she whispered, ”I understand. You... you have to take care of yourself. The child and I... we can’t be without you!”

Overcome with sadness and sorrow, she got up and ran out.

Qin Tianxuan instinctively reached out to stop her, but his hand froze in mid-air before he slowly lowered it.

’Duty to family and country comes first,’ he thought. ’Personal feelings have to be put aside for now.’

This was destined to be an incredibly long night.

In a hidden villa on the outskirts of Su City, Li Xiaohai and Han Qianqian, locked in a dark room, had already screamed themselves hoarse.

They could hear constant, blood-curdling screams from outside, but had no idea what was happening.

It sounded as if someone had broken in and was cleaning out the remnants of the Daqin Royal Family from the villa.

After what felt like an eternity, the door to the dark room suddenly swung open, and two black hoods were thrown over their heads.

Li Xiaohai and Han Qianqian were gagged, able to make only muffled whimpers.

They were dragged into a van that then sped into the city, where they were unceremoniously dumped on Su City’s main thoroughfare.

The cold, pre-dawn wind whipped mercilessly against their bodies.

Her makeup streaked with tears, Han Qianqian trembled as she struggled to her feet. Her sexy dress was torn in several places.

Shivering, she was the very picture of a pathetic mess.

”Agh, Qianqian, my hand... my hand hurts so bad! Call an ambulance, quick...” Li Xiaohai wailed from where he was sprawled on the ground.

”Get away from me! Don’t touch me! I’m breaking up with you, right now! Get lost!” Han Qianqian shrieked. She ripped off a high-heeled shoe and started viciously beating Li Xiaohai over the head with its sharp heel.

Li Xiaohai roared and kicked her to the ground.

Han Qianqian scrambled back to her feet, gave him a cold look, and promptly hailed a cab to go home.

Li Xiaohai furiously cursed her, calling her a ”fucking bitch,” and finally managed to call Han Qianqian’s father. After a long wait, the Han Family’s car arrived. He was taken to a nearby hospital to have his injuries treated before being brought to the Han residence.

Inside the Han Family’s villa, the atmosphere was unbearably tense.

His head covered in lumps, Li Xiaohai roared at Han Qianqian’s father, ”I’m warning you! If your daughter doesn’t start listening to me, I’m done with your goddamn Han Family!”

The masks were off. Li Xiaohai’s vicious side was finally revealed.

Han Qianqian’s father wrung his hands, completely intimidated.

From inside a room, Han Qianqian’s shriek could be heard. ”You let him in the house?! He’s a useless piece of trash! He’s the one who’s ruined our family!”

The Han family matriarch tremblingly slammed her hand on the table. ”That’s enough out of both of you!”

The old matriarch’s authority still held some weight. She fixed her gaze on Li Xiaohai. ”You and Qianqian are engaged. That makes you half a member of the Han Family. If you abandon us now, do you think you can solve those debts on your own?”

Li Xiaohai gritted his teeth. ”Then we need to cooperate. We’re all grasshoppers on the same string now. And first, all of you need to listen to me!”

A deep sadness filled the matriarch’s heart. She wasn’t a fool; she had seen Li Xiaohai’s true character long ago.

’Not just useless, but incompetent too!’

’And worst of all, he’s utterly selfish. He’s been using the Han Family from the very beginning!’

’But what choice do we have now?’

’No matter how useless Li Xiaohai is, he still has the backing of the Changshan Financial Group. But the Han Family? If we go down this time, we’ll never recover!’

”Xiaohai, can’t you ask your uncle for help?” the matriarch asked. ”Li Changshan is a top tycoon in Su City. If he just lifted a finger, it would be enough to get us through this!”

The members of the Han Family all looked at Li Xiaohai expectantly.

Li Xiaohai’s face flushed. ”You don’t know shit! My Uncle Changshan despises people who don’t pay their debts more than anyone. I can’t ask him for help now! He’d abandon me on the spot!”

”So, we have to get through this crisis first. Then we can figure out a way to get some benefits from my uncle!”

Hope sparked once more in the Han Family!

Li Changshan, and the Changshan Financial Group, were their last hope!

”Xiaohai, what do you think we should do? The first batch of our loans is due soon. We have to hold out!” Han Qianqian’s father said, wringing his hands.

Li Xiaohai’s eyes were bloodshot. ”Sell the cars! Sell the houses!”

Besides the villa they lived in, the Han Family owned a total of six other properties in Jiangnan, the north, and abroad.

Meanwhile, Li Xiaohai had over a dozen luxury cars in his garage.

If they sold all of it, the funds they’d recover would probably be enough to pay off the first batch of loans.

A wave of misery washed over the room.

’It was all so tragic, no matter how you looked at it.’

’The great Han Family, once one of the most prominent families in Su City, had actually fallen to this level.’

Just then, Han Qianqian emerged from her room, her eyes swollen from crying. ”Stop talking! Let’s just go beg Sister Weiwei! Her man is very resourceful. As long as we admit we were wrong, we’re still family. Sister Weiwei will help us!”

”Bullshit!”

”Get lost!”

”Nonsense!”

The Han Family and Li Xiaohai all roared back in anger, ”What good is Han Biwei? She’s nothing but a toilet cleaner now!”
