Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart

Chapter 125: Chapter 125 Adorable couple

”Yeah... friends,” Alessio murmured, his gaze boring on her gentle eyes.

There was something so pure and sincere in them, a quiet kindness that asked for nothing in return. She wasn’t helping him because she expected something. She wasn’t waiting for him to offer anything. She was simply... being there. Being her.

For a brief moment, he simply stood there, looking at her, wondering how someone could carry so much warmth so effortlessly. She had been hurt, betrayed and silenced by the world, yet she still found it in her heart to smile. To help and care.

A strange warmth spread through his chest, unfamiliar yet not unwelcome.

Daisy tilted her head, her brows furrowing slightly. Are you okay?

Alessio blinked, realizing he had been staring.

”I’m fine,” he said, his voice quieter than intended.

Her expression remained thoughtful, as if she didn’t quite believe him but she didn’t push.

She simply smiled, nodded, and gestured toward the counter. Let’s pay for it.

Alessio followed her, his gaze still lingering on her small figure as she walked ahead.

Friends.

He had never thought the word would feel so significant.

After paying for the model kit, Alessio carefully placed the shopping bag in his hand before turning toward Daisy.

”What else do you need to buy?” he asked.

Daisy blinked. She pointed toward herself before making a small gesture that meant clothes. Her hands moved tentatively, as if she wasn’t sure whether to ask for his help.

”I’ll come with you.”

She hesitated. It felt slightly embarrassing. Shopping for clothes with a man, especially Alessio, somehow made her cheeks grow warm. She looked at him uncertainly, her eyes searching his face for any sign of reluctance.

He simply waited. There wasn’t the slightest impatience on his face. His green eyes were calm, patient, focused entirely on her.

After a few seconds, Daisy finally nodded.

Okay.

A small smile appeared on her lips.

The two walked toward a clothing store. The moment they entered, Daisy’s eyes wandered around the neatly arranged racks filled with colorful tops, dresses, skirts and sweaters. She immediately became interested, her fingers reaching out to touch the fabrics.

Alessio, meanwhile, stood quietly beside her with both hands in the pockets of his hoodie, patiently following wherever she went. He didn’t hover. He didn’t rush. He simply existed in her orbit, watching her with quiet attention.

She picked up one top. Held it against herself. Looked at the mirror. Then quietly put it back. Another one... No. Another... Still no.

Alessio simply watched. He never complained. Never urged her to hurry. He just followed her at an unhurried pace, his green eyes tracking her movements with a softness he didn’t realize was there.

After several minutes, Daisy finally chose two tops. One was a soft cream-colored knit top with delicate lace around the neckline. The other was a dusty rose blouse with elegant puff sleeves.

She walked over to Alessio. Holding one in each hand, she looked up at him. Then she gestured.

Which one do you like?

Alessio looked at the two tops seriously. Far more seriously than anyone should. He examined the fabric. The stitching. The colors. He studied the way the cream fabric caught the light, the way the rose blouse seemed to glow.

Then his gaze shifted toward Daisy.

He imagined the cream one on her. Simple, gentle and elegant.

Then the rose-colored one. Warm. Soft. It matched the natural blush that often appeared on her cheeks.

He looked back and forth several times, his brow furrowing slightly.

Daisy watched him expectantly, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Finally, he pointed at the dusty rose blouse.

”...This one.”

Daisy tilted her head curiously.

Why?

Alessio answered without thinking.

”It suits you.”

His voice remained calm, but there was a sincerity behind it.

”It’s... soft.”

He looked at her face, his gaze focused on her features.

”And the color matches your complexion.”

He paused for a second, his eyes tracing the curve of her cheek, the delicate line of her jaw.

”...You’ll look beautiful in it.”

The words escaped naturally. Only after saying them did he realize what he had just admitted. His eyes widened almost imperceptibly.

For the first time in a long while, Alessio actually looked away first.

Daisy’s eyes widened. A rosy blush slowly spread across her cheeks, the color deepening as she processed his words. She lowered her gaze shyly, unable to hide the small smile that appeared on her lips. Her fingers tightened around the rose-colored blouse.

Nearby, the saleswoman had been quietly arranging clothes while secretly observing the two.

She couldn’t help smiling.

They’re so adorable...

The handsome young man stood patiently beside the girl, carefully helping her choose clothes without showing even the slightest boredom. His attention was completely focused on her, as if she were the only person in the store.

The girl never spoke. Instead, she communicated with graceful hand gestures. Yet the man seemed to understand her almost effortlessly. Whenever she moved her hands, his eyes stayed on her attentively, waiting until she finished before replying.

There wasn’t a trace of impatience. Only quiet understanding.

The saleswoman’s heart softened.

She can’t speak...

For a brief moment, she felt sorry for the young woman, but that feeling quickly disappeared because the man beside her never once treated her differently. He watched her hands as naturally as anyone else would listen to spoken words. He waited for her. He answered her. He understood her.

The saleswoman smiled to herself.

She found someone who never makes her feel unheard.

Neither Daisy nor Alessio noticed the affectionate look the saleswoman was giving them.

Daisy carefully hugged the rose-colored blouse to her chest before smiling brightly at Alessio. Then she gave him a cheerful thumbs-up.

Alessio’s lips curved ever so slightly.

”...Good.”

”Where else do you want to go?” Alessio asked patiently.

There wasn’t the slightest hint of impatience in his voice. To him, following Daisy around wasn’t troublesome at all. In fact, he found himself enjoying it far more than he expected. The way she moved through the store, the way she examined things with quiet curiosity, the way she occasionally glanced back at him to make sure he was still there.

Daisy blinked. Then her eyes widened slightly.

Oh...

She had become so occupied helping him choose a gift that she had completely forgotten the rest of her own shopping list. Her mind had been so focused on finding the perfect model kit, on watching his face light up when he finally chose one, that everything else had slipped away.

She pursed her lips thoughtfully. One finger lightly tapped against her chin as she tried to remember.

What else did I need...?

Groceries... No, those were later.

Something else...

She frowned ever so slightly, her brows drawing together as she searched her memory. Her gaze drifted upward, as if the answer might be written on the ceiling.
