Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

214: CastingAfter listening to the entire song, Jack was unable to snap back to reality for a long time. He loved this song too much; it wasn’t easy for a musician to come across such a great piece. This song could definitely be shortlisted as one of his most pleasant surprises of the year.

After watching the video, Jack expressed his love for the song frantically. He wasn’t the only one; many others shared the same reaction.

With the video feedback from many music bloggers like Jack, Lu Qingyu suddenly went viral on the foreign internet. After learning about Lu Qingyu, everyone became more and more curious about him, and some even started watching the films and television dramas Lu Qingyu had filmed in Dragon Country.

Lu Qingyu’s Instagram followers soared to 20 million within five days. As it turns out, being starstruck transcends race.

[How does he do it? He’s so handsome and sings so well. Not only does he sing well, but his acting is great too. Not only is his acting great, but he’s also so rich.]

[He carries the mystery of an Easterner; I like him so much.]

[I’ve fallen in love with him. Does anyone know if he has a girlfriend?]

[I only found out today that avatar and game of thrones were actually produced by his company. I’m suddenly full of curiosity about his company’s movies. I really want to know what they’re filming next.]

Lu Qingyu’s popularity was very high, and this popularity wasn’t just in Dragon Country, but international as well.

One must realize that for a Chinese person, trying to break into the international market is very difficult. To achieve the level of popularity he had today by paying for it, it would cost at least twenty to thirty million.

What kind of person was Lu Qingyu? He was someone who had sworn to become the richest man. As someone in finance, he wouldn’t pass up any opportunity to make money, nor would he pass up any opportunity to save it.

Lu Qingyu struck while the iron was hot and began recruiting actors.

To create a sense of mystery for everyone, Lu Qingyu did not provide any information about the movies. Instead, he set the entry requirements for actors based on the character descriptions in the scripts and then had the company release all the recruitment information.

For example, the female lead: height over 170cm, weight under 50kg, wheat-toned skin, playing a confident and flamboyant model.

When other companies recruit actors, they release the movie project, the roles being recruited, and even audition clips. The number of actors recruited is usually within 10 people, excluding extras.

However, because Lu Qingyu’s company was recruiting for six movies and two TV series simultaneously, they directly released nearly 130 roles.

Those unknown actors who struggled every day for movie resources went wild when they saw this recruitment list.

They had never seen a company release such a high demand for actors, and this didn’t even count the extras.

Everyone happily opened the recruitment document, but then they suddenly found it a bit hard to understand.

These 130 roles were listed from 1 to 130, and it was impossible to tell which movie project they belonged to. Therefore, everyone assumed by default that these were the actors needed for a single movie.

[8 female leads? Could this be an anthology series?]

[What is the genre of this movie? Does anyone know?]

[Why do I feel like this isn’t just one movie?]

Curiosity aside, since the company wasn’t saying anything, they could only choose the character descriptions they were interested in.

Within two days, the company received over 5,000 resumes, each attached with a thirty-second audition clip.

But this was limited to stars below the second tier. Most of them were third-tier or newly debuted artists; those first-tier stars still maintained their dignity.

After game of thrones became a hit, they were envious of the roles inside, but Magic Paradise was different from other companies.

They were already first-tier stars with many representative works. Too many people were looking for them to film movies. Now, it was a case of them choosing others, rather than others choosing them.

Other companies rushed to send them invitations to film movies, but Magic Paradise never did. If they were interested in a certain role, they had to audition just like those unknown actors.

They had only just managed to accept this condition when Magic Paradise pulled another stunt: recruiting actors without even telling them what the project was. Who would dare to easily agree to that?

Charlotte had been brooding ever since she was countered by Emilia last time. Many times, she couldn’t help but think that if she had gone to act in game of thrones back then, all the glory would belong to her now.

Unexpectedly, Magic Paradise was recruiting actors again. Just as Charlotte wanted to participate, her Agent told her she couldn’t.

Charlotte: ”Why? Don’t you know how popular game of thrones is right now? You were the one who told me not to join that project back then, which is why I didn’t. In the end, Emilia got the bargain.”

Speaking of this, Charlotte couldn’t help but get angry.

”I’ve already found out that Emilia chose one of the roles to audition for. I’m going to choose that role too. I want to prove to her that my strength is not inferior to hers.”

Seeing Charlotte so persistent, the Agent had no choice but to say, ”Last time was my error in judgment, but this time I definitely won’t be wrong. Charlotte, do you know why the recruitment information released by Magic Paradise doesn’t have any content related to movie titles and only has character introductions?”

Charlotte was also a bit puzzled about this: ”They recruited nearly 130 actors. I guess they’re going to film an anthology series.”

An anthology series has one story per episode; one could even say one female lead per episode. If they filmed 10 episodes, they could have 10 female leads.

The Agent shook his head upon hearing this: ”No. I received inside information that the boss of Magic Paradise, Lu Qingyu, and the president of Warner, Morgan, have made a bet.”

Hearing the word ’bet’, Charlotte’s eyes widened. Being in this circle, she had heard of many people who went bankrupt because of gambling bets.

”Even if Magic Paradise has two works, they can’t compare to an entertainment giant like Warner that has been around for decades, right?”

Agent: ”Exactly because of that, I won’t let you participate in any of Magic Paradise’s projects.”

”Their company released so many roles at once; I guess they’ve split them into several film and TV projects. Their betting period is two years, involving an amount exceeding 2 billion US dollars. I suspect they’re panicking internally, so they want to film more projects to see which one can make money.”

Charlotte suddenly understood: ”So that’s how it is.” The Agent continued: ”Now Magic Paradise and Warner are on opposite sides. If you choose to participate in a Magic Paradise project, you’ll be going against Warner. Compared to Warner, Magic Paradise is nothing.”

”So Charlotte, don’t worry about Magic Paradise. I’ll find a way to get you a project from Warner.”

Hearing this, Charlotte looked delighted. If she could get a project from Warner, that would be wonderful.

As for Magic Paradise, after hearing the Agent’s analysis, she felt it was a ship that already had holes in it. Sinking was only a matter of time.

What made her happiest was that Emilia was also on that ship.

She heard that Emilia was even introducing her sisters to audition at Magic Paradise. These stupid women were being screwed over by Emilia and didn’t even know it.
