Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

204: The big shots forcedLu Qingyu had just entered the banquet hall when a Staff Member on the other side walked up to Monica to notify her.

Monica looked at Lu Qingyu in the direction the Staff Member pointed. As the owner of Magic Paradise, he was incredibly young.

Monica asked the Staff Member to bring Lu Qingyu over. After receiving the instruction, the Staff Member went to invite Lu Qingyu.

”Sir, a lady over there would like to invite you for a gathering.”

Lu Qingyu and Su Jixing had just walked in and hadn’t even made a round when they were invited. The two looked in the direction the Staff Member pointed, and a gorgeous-looking woman raised her glass and nodded at them.

Lu Qingyu didn’t know Monica, but Su Jixing was a bit surprised when he saw her.

”Why is it her?”

Lu Qingyu: ”You know her?”

Su Jixing: ”Monica, the project manager of the project department at Warner. She is capable and talented, and acts decisively. But these are not the most famous things about her; the most famous thing is her nickname.”

Lu Qingyu: ”What nickname?”

Su Jixing: ”Black Widow.”

Lu Qingyu: ”...” This definitely wasn’t the Black Widow he was thinking of.

Su Jixing: ”I heard this woman is like a poisonous snake; whoever she targets dies. Why did she suddenly invite us over?”

Lu Qingyu became interested. It seemed someone was targeting him, so he should go and meet her.

”Let’s go, don’t keep the beauty waiting.”

Lu Qingyu walked in front, and Su Jixing followed behind.

The two arrived in front of Monica. Monica smiled, holding her glass:

”Lu Qingyu, the current owner of Magic Paradise. I am Monica, the project manager at Warner. I have long heard of your reputation and have always wanted to meet you.”

Monica radiated pheromones toward Lu Qingyu as she spoke. With her invincible record, no young man could resist her.

But she was disappointed. Lu Qingyu gently clinked glasses with Monica, completely unaffected by her flirtatious gaze, and replied indifferently with two words: ”Hello.”

Monica looked Lu Qingyu up and down. To think he turned a blind eye to her beauty—could it be that he likes men?

But Lu Qingyu didn’t give her the impression of being gay.

Monica knew it wasn’t the time to think about these things.

”Mr. Lu, my boss, William, wants to see you.”

After Monica finished speaking, she turned and walked in another direction. This wasn’t asking for Lu Qingyu’s opinion at all, but rather a notification.

Lu Qingyu wanted to know what medicine they were selling in their gourd, so he followed.

In a relatively quiet corner, two rows of sofas surrounded a bar counter diagonally.

One person occupied one sofa alone, two people sat on the other sofa, and the remaining five or six people surrounded them.

Monica led Lu Qingyu over and walked in front of William, who was occupying one sofa alone.

”President, this is Lu Qingyu.”

”Mr. Lu, this is Mr. William, the president of our Warner.”

William didn’t get up from the sofa at all; he just lifted his eyes and looked at Lu Qingyu indifferently.

He had been quite curious about what kind of person was opposing them, but he didn’t expect him to be so young.

But looking at this age, he was somewhat relieved. If he weren’t young, how could he be so ignorant?

He didn’t take Lu Qingyu seriously, so naturally, he didn’t stand up.

Lu Qingyu knew about the company Warner. It was considered the leader in the film industry. He didn’t expect that he was the one who wanted to see him.

But looking at their attitude, Lu Qingyu didn’t think they wanted to talk about cooperation with him.

Lu Qingyu understood one principle very well: no matter the industry, people within it might fight fiercely, but when facing outsiders, their firepower would be very unified.

Looking at this situation, he was that outsider now.

Lu Qingyu wasn’t a greenhorn who had just started out, bowing and scraping to these big shots, hoping they would promote him. For him, whoever blocked his path would be dealt with, regardless of who they were.

”Is there something? If not, I’ll be leaving.”

William was very dissatisfied with Lu Qingyu’s attitude. Seeing this, Monica blocked Lu Qingyu’s path.

”Mr. Lu, don’t be in such a hurry to leave.”

Lu Qingyu stepped back to distance himself from Monica.

Seeing this, Monica smiled and continued: ”Mr. Lu, there is some good news I want to share with you. I believe you will be very happy after hearing it.”

”Warner has decided to invest 2 million USD in Magic Paradise. Magic Paradise will give us 48% of the shares, but we will not interfere with any of Magic Paradise’s film projects. Besides that, Magic Paradise will receive support from Warner Pictures. From now on, your path in the film industry will be smoother.”

”Mr. Lu, what do you think of this news?”

Not to mention Lu Qingyu, even Su Jixing was so angry he laughed.

2 million USD? Was this to send away a beggar?

The richer people are, the stingier they get. Their behavior wasn’t just stingy; it was banditry.

According to Magic Paradise’s current market value, let alone 20 million, even 200 million might not be enough to buy 48% of the shares.

Lu Qingyu lowered his head and smiled: ”It’s been a long time since I’ve heard such a funny joke.”

The expressions on William and Monica’s faces turned cold.

Monica: ”Mr. Lu, we are negotiating business with you very seriously now. Please take it seriously too.”

Lu Qingyu put away his smile: ”Since Miss Monica is so serious, I will also reply to you seriously: I don’t need your capital injection.”

After Lu Qingyu finished speaking, only a clatter was heard as a crystal glass smashed heavily onto the glass bar counter.

William said with a cold face: ”Young man, I know you have some talent, but before doing things, I hope you can think clearly.”

Monica: ”Mr. Lu, the film industry is not as simple as you think. Don’t think that just because your company has made two good dramas, you can disregard others.”

”Warner has been developing in the film industry for 20 years. Which of the people here is not a big shot in the film industry? As long as we say the word, none of Magic Paradise’s future works will be screened.”

Lu Qingyu narrowed his eyes slightly; the fox’s tail was finally exposed. This group of people was drooling over his industry and wanted to carve it up openly.

Lu Qingyu wasn’t surprised by their shameless behavior because it wasn’t the first time they had done this.

He had heard before that many companies from the Dragon Kingdom that were developing well abroad were threatened and forced to sell to them; if they didn’t sell, they would be sanctioned.

He didn’t expect them to target him today.

Lu Qingyu: ”So if I don’t agree, you are going to jointly block my company?”

Monica showed a triumphant smile: ”That’s right. If you don’t agree, we will block your company. By then, I’m afraid you’ll have to crawl out of here in disgrace.”

As soon as Monica’s words fell, a voice full of anger suddenly came from behind.

”I don’t know how my friend offended you that you want him to crawl out in disgrace.”

Monica looked back, shocked. William and the others who were originally sitting on the sofa all stood up.

Kane Bailey was leaning on a cane, with a noble young master, Moray, beside him.

Kane Bailey was no ordinary person. They didn’t expect him to speak up for Lu Qingyu.

William’s face was livid. If Lu Qingyu’s backer was Kane Bailey, then they really couldn’t touch him.

Monica had no expression on her face, but her gaze toward Lu Qingyu was very deep.

She was wondering why this kid was so fearless. So he was waiting for them here.

Moray walked past everyone and came to Lu Qingyu’s side.

”Lu, don’t worry. If anyone dares to deal with you, that is going against the Bailey Family.”

William: ”I didn’t know Mr. Lu was Mr. Bailey’s friend. Misunderstanding, these are all misunderstandings.”

Lu Qingyu: ”Mr. Bailey, you came just in time. Mr. William wanted to talk business with me, but I didn’t agree to the business he mentioned earlier. I wonder if Mr. William is interested in a ’gamble’.”
