Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 552: Chapter 552 The Storm at Sea_1

”Please forgive me, Sect Leader!” Huo Ji’s body trembled as she bowed deeply and spoke.

”Why should the Sect Leader be so enraged? Elder Huo was also trying to help the Five Elements Sect retrieve the treasure, wasn’t she?”

A masculine voice sounded, and a man dressed in a green robe, with a head of green hair, entered the room. He had two green beards and walked in with a smile.

”Elder Lin, you have left seclusion?” Duan Ningyu’s eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of this person, a flash of surprise crossing her face.

”Greetings to the Sect Leader.” The man in the green robe saluted Duan Ningyu with respect.

This man was Lin Zhishan, the Elder of the Wood Sect within the Five Elements Sect and a strong fighter from the generation of Duan Ningyu’s father.

”It looks like Elder Lin has recovered his strength!” Duan Ningyu remarked coolly.

”Thanks to the Sect Leader’s great fortune, I have almost fully recovered. Moreover, Elder Jin will be exiting seclusion soon. Once we gather the Five Elements Pearls, we won’t have to hide in this sunless place any longer, and we will be able to restore the former glory of our Five Elements Sect,” Lin Zhishan declared confidently.

Duan Ningyu’s eyes narrowed a bit more, but he said nothing. The kneeling Huo Ji’s lips curled up in a hint of pleasure.

The next day, Ye Luo slowly opened his eyes, only to find a figure lying on top of him—it was Yan Ling.

Yan Ling had sneaked into his room last night, claiming that since he would be away for a few days, she needed to make sure her ”public rations” were replenished. Thus, last night Ye Luo had ”plowed the fields” all evening to ensure Yan Ling would sleep satisfied.

After leaving the room, Ye Luo called Ling Qingya to inform her of his departure and to tell Xue Tu and his people to protect Ling Qingya well.

At Dock 5, Ye Luo arrived and immediately spotted Mingyue and Leng Ruobing, both dressed in workman’s attire.

”Are you two cosplaying?” Ye Luo asked with a look of astonishment, seeing their outfits.

”For this mission, to prevent any leaks, we won’t be traveling to the Island Country using conventional means. This cargo ship is headed there; we’ll disguise ourselves as crew members and reach the Island Country along with this ship,” Leng Ruobing explained.

”Change your clothes,” Mingyue said, handing a set of clothes to Ye Luo who quickly changed into them. The three then disguised themselves as dockworkers and boarded the cargo ship.

Soon, with the sound of a whistle, the cargo ship left the harbor and set off towards the Island Country—this was Ye Luo’s first time leaving Huaxia.

On a national highway in Zhonghai, a man wearing a trench coat and a duckbill cap sat in a passenger vehicle, his gaze outside the window flickering with a cold light.

”Ye Luo, I will definitely come back.”

The man lifted his head, revealing a ferocious face—it was Fang Yan, now a wanted criminal.

Above the vast sea, a cargo ship sailed like a solitary leaf upon the water. Ye Luo sat on the deck, quietly enjoying the sea breeze and glistening waves, savoring the moment.

Leng Ruobing came over and sat down beside Ye Luo, the sea breeze lifting a wisp of her hair, adding a touch of elegance to her presence.

”Ruo Bing, how is your brother doing now?” Ye Luo suddenly asked Leng Ruobing.

”His health is fine now, and he has taken over most of the Leng Family’s enterprises. He’s also getting along very well with my future sister-in-law, Meng Qing. They will probably get married before too long,” Leng Ruobing replied.

”And Leng Pengyu? Any news of him?”

”No, I’ve sent many forces to locate him, but there’s been no trace at all. It seems he must have joined some organization within the Hidden Sect, otherwise his strength couldn’t have increased so rapidly without our notice,” said Leng Ruobing coldly.

”This person is no simpleton, you all need to be careful around him,” Ye Luo warned.

Leng Ruobing nodded and said, ”If he dares to show up again, I’ll definitely not let him off. No matter what, the grudge for my brother’s many years of paralysis must be avenged.”

In the blink of an eye, a day passed, but on the evening of the next day, while Ye Luo was sound asleep in the cabin,

suddenly he felt the entire world spinning and was rolled off the bed. He hastily stood up and used his Clairvoyant Eye to scan the area, his expression changing immediately.

At this moment, the sea was in turmoil due to a downpour, with bursts of fierce wind churning up huge waves, crashing against the cargo ship and causing it to sway from side to side.

All the crew members on board had gathered on the deck, and the cargo ship kept rocking back and forth, battered by the terrifying wind and waves.

”What’s happening?”

Mingyue and Leng Ruobing rushed out of the cabin onto the deck, fighting against the torrential rain and trying to steady themselves.

”We’ve hit a rare sea storm, if we can’t make it through, this ship is going to sink,” Leng Ruobing said gravely.

”What? Does that mean we’re all going to be buried at sea?” Mingyue’s complexion changed as panic flitted through her eyes.

”Don’t worry, babe, even if you die, you’ll still have this handsome guy dying with you. You should feel honored,” Ye Luo walked out and said with a smile.

”Is this really the time for jokes? Even if I have to die, I don’t want to die with you. Besides, I haven’t even had a boyfriend yet; I don’t want to die so young and end up without a trace,” Mingyue said, pursing her lips.

”How about I become your boyfriend right now, so you won’t have any regrets?” Ye Luo continued.

Suddenly, a massive wave crashed over them, causing the entire cargo ship to shake violently, and everyone on board stumbled and rolled around on the deck.

”Damn it!” Ye Luo managed to grab onto a pole to steady himself.

But the downpour became even more intense, and the waves grew higher. At that moment, the cargo ship truly became a lone vessel, seemingly ready to be capsized by the typhoon at any moment.

Boom!

Another wave, towering over ten meters high, struck, and the ship lurched violently. Mingyue, caught off-balance, was thrown overboard.

Ah!

A sharp scream escaped from Mingyue as she flew over the side of the ship. Seeing this, Ye Luo’s expression changed, and he rushed forward, grabbing Mingyue’s hand, only to be dragged overboard with her, plunging into the tumultuous sea.

”Ye Luo! Mingyue!”

Leng Ruobing’s expression turned to one of utter shock as she called out and dashed forward.

”Be careful!”

At that moment, several workers rushed over and grabbed hold of Leng Ruobing.

Gazing at the surging sea, Leng Ruobing’s eyes were red with tears, her expression full of sorrow as the raindrops mixed with her tears.

The storm raged throughout the night and only came to an end by morning. As the sun rose in the east, calm returned once again.
