The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

In the original plot, after Gu Jingyuan discovered that he might be the Third Young Master of the Marquis Mansion, he followed the contact information on the notice to find Ma’s Grocery Store.

Manager Ma Zhong, being an attendant of the Ma Family, had naturally seen his own young master before.

Upon seeing Gu Jingyuan, he was both surprised and delighted, eager to escort him back to the Capital City at once.

He Dian, being very shrewd, immediately understood his identity when Ma Zhong called Gu Jingyuan ”young master.”

When Gu Jingyuan was introducing her, she quickly spoke up, ”I am the daughter of a mountain hunter. When collecting herbs, I found Brother Gu and saw he was still breathing, so I saved him!”

She did not mention her ”marital” relationship with Gu Jingyuan, only emphasizing his life-saving grace.

Although Ma Zhong found something amiss about this girl, the joy of finding the young master made him temporarily ignore these thoughts.

Without much thought and unwilling to delay further, Ma Zhong immediately found an escort agency, arranged a carriage, neglected the store, and escorted Gu Jingyuan and He Dian to the Capital City.

On the way, Ma Zhong sent a letter to the Ma Family, stating clearly that he had found the young master, and his savior was a young girl.

He dared not say more.

Afraid that his words might incite conflicts among the masters.

Thus, when Gu Jingyuan brought He Dian to Marquis Nanning’s Mansion, the whole family considered this village girl as the savior of their Third Young Master.

The marquis’s household was large and prosperous, and supporting an orphaned savior girl was naturally no problem.

The Ma Family, grateful that He Dian saved her husband, directly treated her as a sister, giving her treatment no less than the real noble young ladies of the marquis mansion.

However, less than two months after He Dian entered the marquis mansion, her belly started to swell.

Upon further inquiry, it was discovered that He Dian was not only Gu Jingyuan’s benefactor but also his wife!

It was a bolt from the blue, and the Ma Family was almost fainting with anger.

But it was true that He Dian saved Gu Jingyuan, and under Gu Jingyuan’s amnesiac condition married him; the child in her belly was undeniably real.

Back then, to acknowledge He Dian’s kindness, everyone in the marquis mansion, including the Ma Family, praised He Dian’s goodness and beauty.

The circle of nobility in the Capital City all knew that He Dian was Gu Jingyuan’s savior.

Now, the savior turning into a ”wife” also seemed somewhat acceptable.

The Ma Family lost the initiative, failed to build momentum in advance, and instead got swept up in public opinion.

He Dian, on the other hand, seized the opportunity to express her grievance: ”I am of humble origin, knowing I am unworthy of Third Young Master Gu. Therefore, when returning to the Capital City, I only said I saved Third Young Master Gu and did not mention much!”

”I thought I would just stay in the marquis mansion, watching Third Young Master Gu from afar!”

”I never thought I’d be carrying Third Young Master’s flesh and blood... the child is innocent, I beg Third Young Madam and the Marchioness to fulfill my wish!”

”I don’t ask for a title, as long as I can stay by Third Young Master’s side, as long as I can keep this child, I am willing to do anything!”

He Dian seemed almost humble enough to blend into the dust.

Seeing her like this, even the Marchioness, who initially had some dissatisfaction with her, couldn’t help but soften.

The Marchioness persuaded the Ma Family: ”...after all, she saved Brother Yuan!”

Moreover, she is also the daughter of a good family, married Gu Jingyuan with proper ceremony under the parents’ tablets.

Now she is willingly becoming a concubine.

The Marchioness felt that He Dian was still sensible.

And for sons of noble families, having a concubine was normal.

Gu Jingyuan had a good relationship with the Ma Family, and for more than ten years, had neither taken a concubine nor had chambermaids, which already showed he treated the Ma Family well.

The Ma Family:...

How can He Dian be the same as an ordinary concubine?

She saved Gu Jingyuan and was his wife for several months!

The Ma Family instinctively wanted to resist.

But everyone came to persuade her, including her parents, brother and sister-in-law, even her children.

The Ma Family, heartbroken, ultimately chose to compromise, allowing He Dian to enter the house.

The subsequent facts proved that the Ma Family’s concerns were not wrong; He Dian was indeed not an ordinary concubine.

She had a special relationship with Gu Jingyuan, and her ”retreat and grievance” made Gu Jingyuan feel deeply pained.

The strife between wife and concubine, the conflict within legitimate and illegitimate branches, made the third branch no longer peaceful!

”...that was the past! This time, I will never be calculated by that wench He Dian!”

The Pagoda Courtyard of Marquis Nanning’s Mansion was the third branch’s courtyard.

In the main room, a brocade-clad woman thought through gritted teeth: ”And Gu Jingyuan, hmph, I was frantically looking for you, even organizing funeral ceremonies for you. Causing a scandal that everyone in the Capital City knows about...”

”I’ll see how you’ll use public opinion to force me this time!”

”You lost your memory, but you didn’t lose intelligence! A noble son of a family educated in the elite manner, yet manipulated by a village girl, you’re damn a fool!”
