The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”Even among real siblings, everything must be calculated clearly!” What’s more, although they are blood relatives, emotionally, they aren’t much better than strangers.

Ye Beibei’s response was crisp and swift.

As if she suddenly remembered something, she said, ”Oh, right, I almost forgot if I didn’t bring it up.”

Ye Beixuan suddenly had a bad premonition.

Then he heard Ye Beibei on the other end of the phone saying, ”Brother, over the past two to three years, you’ve given me between eight hundred and one thousand five hundred yuan per month as allowance.”

”I’ve calculated carefully, and altogether, you’ve given me 37,200 yuan. Since we are siblings, I’ll take advantage of you and not pay you any interest. I’ll transfer this over 30,000 yuan to you in a moment!”

In the past ten days or so, Ye Beibei has been earning bonuses every day from the ”knowledge is money” system.

The bonus amounts range from 100 yuan to 500 yuan, and it only took her less than half a month to accumulate quite a bit.

Of course, the money she has earned through study is not enough to repay the supplements from Ye Beixuan for now.

However, there’s still a year until she turns eighteen.

Within this year, she will continue to study and strive to complete the tasks issued by the system, earning as much bonus as possible.

She is confident that through learning, not only can she be self-sufficient, but also save no less than 50,000 yuan.

She temporarily uses the 100,000 yuan Ye Cheeng gave her to first repay the debt she owes to Ye Beixuan.

After a year, when she becomes an adult and can finally leave the Ye Family, she will pay back Ye Cheeng.

In this way, she and the Ye Family will truly be free of ties.

She would then be able to justifiably and with a clear conscience cut ties with Ye Cheeng and his son!

”...Beibei, do you have to calculate things with me so clearly?”

Even if Ye Beixuan wanted to deceive himself, he couldn’t do it now.

Su Hetian really understands Ye Beibei very well, or rather, to the Ye Family and to her real brother Ye Beixuan, Ye Beibei truly has no attachment at all.

”Beibei, I’m your real brother. Though I didn’t see mom in her last moments, I believe she would have wanted me to take good care of you!”

Ye Beixuan was still unwilling and tried to play the affection card.

”Brother, you guessed wrong! At mom’s final moments, she was not very conscious. She only remembered how sweet her college romance with dad was, forgetting dad’s betrayal and the family falling apart!”

For the first time, Ye Beibei mentioned to Ye Beixuan about her real mother Chen Beilei’s situation before her death.

No sadness, no reminiscence, her tone was exceedingly calm.

One cannot blame Ye Beibei for being cold or not filial enough.

It was truly because Chen Beilei was not a qualified mother.

She was just a spoiled, immature love-obsessed woman pampered by her parents.

Self-centered, selfish, and stubborn.

After her husband cheated, having the mistress from a wealthy family come to force a divorce, Chen Beilei, rather than pulling herself together to take care of her parents and nurture her daughter, indulged in the sorrow of ”love loss” without self-restraint.

Depression?

Crazy for Love?

In Ye Beibei’s view, it was just Chen Beilei hiding behind her parents’ pampering as an excuse to escape reality and not take responsibility.

As soon as Mr. Chen and Madam Chen had a car accident, Chen Beilei collapsed and became bedridden.

Because she knew, without her parents, no one would unconditionally spoil her or favor her anymore!

Chen Beilei did not die from illness; it was because she had completely lost the will to live.

For such a person who was irresponsible both as a parent and to herself, the ”awakened” Ye Beibei truly couldn’t muster any filial piety.

Therefore, now when mentioning Chen Beilei’s death, Ye Beibei’s heart is utterly unperturbed.

Her plain tone seemed to be talking about an unrelated person.

”Even until her last breath, mom was just a girl who needed love and pampering.”

Ye Beibei continued indifferently, ”It was as if she couldn’t see me, despairingly clinging to her hospital bed, crying out in grief! As for you, brother, I guess she forgot about you too!”

So, there was no ”words of kindness from a dying person,” much less any deathbed advice as depicted in movies.

Ye Beixuan: ...Whoa, was our real mother really like that?

He found it hard to accept for a moment.

”So, brother, you don’t need to worry about mom being restless in the afterlife, because to her, we’ll never compare with dad.”

All these years, Chen Beilei must have resented Ye Cheeng.

But whether it’s love or hate, these are all intense emotions showing how much one person means to another.
