The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Of course, whether it is or isn’t, directly running to the Capital City and confronting the Marquis Nanning’s Mansion face-to-face can make everything clear.

He Dian was pleasantly surprised, her voice trembling a little, ”The Third Young Master of Marquis Nanning’s Mansion?”

My God, when she saw Ah Ya in his luxurious clothes, she knew he must be of noble origin.

But she still didn’t expect his status to be so high.

A young master of a Marquis Mansion, someone she couldn’t even dream of reaching.

Although she didn’t know whether he was a legitimate son or a Concubine Son, just by looking at the regularly updated missing person notices on the bulletin board, He Dian could infer that Ah Ya was definitely very favored in the Marquis Mansion!

It’s secured!

She really didn’t choose the wrong person!

He Dian was secretly pleased, but her face showed a faint sadness: ”...Brother Ah Ya, it’s wonderful that you can find your family!”

”But I, I’m just a hunter’s daughter, an ignorant and ruleless mountain village girl!”

”I, I really don’t deserve you...”

He Dian’s tear-filled complaints were indeed effective, as Ah Ya took the bait.

He grabbed He Dian’s hand, ”Ah Dian, don’t say that, you are my savior, and moreover, the woman I love the most!”

”Even if I am indeed a young master of the Marquis Mansion, even if everyone thinks we are not a match, I will never give up on you!”

”But—” He Dian hesitated, playing hard to get, her acting was rather good.

Ah Ya straightforwardly said, ”No buts! I don’t know anything right now; all I know is that you, He Dian, are my wife, and the future mother of my children!”

”Father and mother should understand, after all, without you, I would have died at the cliff bottom, long fed to the wolves!”

Repaying the life-saving grace with devotion is right and proper.

Besides, he genuinely liked He Dian.

Seeing the notice, the Marquis Nanning’s Mansion, and the words Third Young Master, further stimulated Ah Ya’s mind.

More images began flashing in his mind—

The bustling Capital City, courtyard after courtyard, a stern father, a gentle mother, and a room full of red.

It seemed he was married!

Yet, he couldn’t recall what his wife looked like or their moments together.

However, Ah Ya didn’t tell He Dian about this: Sigh, Ah Dian was already anxious enough, he thought, so he didn’t want to add to her mental burden.

She was a kind and pure-hearted woman, undeserving of too much pressure.

Everything should be decided after reaching the Capital City and fully understanding the situation.

Ah Ya made up his mind, thinking that even if he was indeed married, he wouldn’t fail Ah Dian.

At worst, he would let her feel a bit aggrieved and make her a concubine!

Ah Ya, in his supposed kindness, concealed the fact that he might already be married, completely unaware that He Dian had long suspected this.

It’s understandable; in ancient times, where people could marry as early as fifteen, a man in his twenties, handsome, not foolish nor disabled, would have already married even in ordinary families.

Perhaps he might even have a few children.

Not to mention, Ah Ya was dressed in fine clothes, with a top-grade jade pendant worth hundreds of taels of silver hanging on his waist.

When He Dian chose to marry Ah Ya, she had already thought about what to do if he had a wife.

What else could she do?

Become a noble concubine.

After all, with He Dian’s identity as a lone mountain girl, she might not even qualify to be a maid for a wealthy family’s young master.

As for ”being a concubine is difficult”?

Ha, He Dian wasn’t afraid at all.

She was Ah Ya’s savior; with this debt of gratitude, neither the Matriarch nor the old lady of the household could be harsh with her.

Even if she had to endure some grievances, He Dian could tolerate it.

Even if she married into a family of equal rank, wouldn’t she still suffer at her mother-in-law’s hands?

Either way, life wouldn’t be comfortable, so it was better to be a concubine in a grand household where she could at least transform from a commoner to an ”almost noble” status.

Once she had children, they would become truly noble little masters.

He Dian had thought it all out, imagining various scenarios already.

So, on this journey to the Capital City to recognize relatives, she wore an expression of various apprehensions and worries, but in her heart, she was full of confidence.

He Tiantian: ...What an ambitious woman, calculated and courageous.

Unfortunately, He Tiantian didn’t want to be such a top-grade woman.

Saving the son of the Marquis Mansion would earn a grand reward from the mansion.

He Dian could entirely escape her remote mountain village life, so why insist on becoming someone’s concubine?

True, she had saved Ah Ya, or rather, Gu Jingyuan, so the entire Marquis Mansion, including Gu Jingyuan’s wife from the Ma Family, would, even if they thought she wasn’t a match, still have to allow her entry.
