The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 539: Chapter 224 Top-grade Classical Literature (End)_2

Hastily waving her hands, she politely declined, ”No need, thank you!”

Perhaps intrigued by this little incident, the short-haired woman grew curious about He Tiantian, ”Young lady, you’re still a student right?”

”No, I stopped studying long ago!” He Tiantian replied casually, while eating chestnuts.

The short-haired woman was taken aback, not a student?

Nor was she one of the staff from their Foreign Affairs Department.

Moreover, looking at the girl’s child-like demeanor, she did not seem to be a specially hired expert or consultant.

How, then, could she have appeared in the work group going abroad?

”Do you speak any foreign languages?” the short-haired woman asked tentatively.

”No!” He Tiantian shook her head briskly. Though she herself was fluent in several foreign languages, the original owner wasn’t.

The short-haired woman was taken aback, but she did not want to jump to negative conclusions.

After some hesitation, she decided to inquire further, not wanting to wrong anyone, ”So, young lady, how did you come to join our workgroup?”

Could it be she had other specialties?

Could she provide some help for this international conference?

”My dad is a secretary, my mom is a director, and my brother works in the Foreign Affairs Department!”

With a proud look of nepotism spread across her face, He Tiantian almost enraged the short-haired woman.

Preposterous!

Such an important matter as Geneva, and yet people were still pulling strings and entering through the back door.

The concept of ’second generation’ wasn’t prevalent at the time, but most people were intolerant of using power for personal gain.

People were honest and straightforward then, intolerant of malice and having no patience for corruption; the short-haired woman, holding back her anger, continued to ”draw out” He Tiantian.

Eventually, the short-haired woman became certain that this young lady really knew nothing and had joined the work group purely through familial connections, aiming to enjoy the flamboyant world outside.

This, this... intolerable! Absolutely intolerable!

With gritted teeth, the short-haired woman went directly to the group leader.

Upon hearing the short-haired woman’s accusations, the leader knew immediately who she was referring to.

Rubbing his temples, he said helplessly, ”There’s nothing I can do, it was an order from the leaders above. We just have to follow it!”

What?

An order from the leaders?

The short-haired woman’s expression was still poor, but her anger had subsided considerably.

Pursing her lips, she said no more, but it seemed a thorn had lodged itself in her heart.

So, during the subsequent journey, she kept an eye on He Tiantian, partly to see what this privileged member would do, and partly to prevent her from embarrassing them internationally.

Hua Country’s status was precarious on the international stage, and although Hua Country people held self-respect and self-love, they sometimes felt an inferiority complex upon seeing the development abroad.

A very few individuals would feel resentment or nurture hedonistic desires.

These outbound work staff underwent relevant training and guidance before leaving, fearing that personal actions and words might affect the global perception and opinion of Hua Country.

But, the more observant the short-haired woman became, the angrier she got.

Whose child was this girl, and why was she so infuriating?

Didn’t she see that the foreigners were already looking down on her, laughing at you, and yet you still approached them?

Still flipping through those books filled with foreign languages, shamelessly asking to visit local libraries... can you even understand them?

Moreover, although the living standards in the West were indeed high—with ample milk, bread, and steak—it doesn’t mean that you should act like a good-for-nothing scoundrel. The hotel staff were already laughing at you, hey.

And some of the Western experts and scholars, already unfriendly towards Hua Country, now found a bizarre representative in their midst and all the more turned this unfortunate child into a laughingstock.

The only benefit was that this greedy girl named He Tiantian had entered the inner circles of the foreigners.

Many places that were on guard against the Hua Country delegation were surprisingly non-guarded against her!

But what of it?

She understood nothing and knew only how to eat; even if she encountered places where vigilance against Hua Country people was necessary, she could neither comprehend nor understand.

The short-haired woman bit her lip in secret frustration; just wait until we return to the country, I must investigate thoroughly and see just which family’s daughter you are!

”...Tiantian, you really go all out, sacrificing even your dignity for the mission.”

When Student Xiao D said this, he meant no insult; he truly spoke from observation.
