The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 533: Chapter 223: The Top-grade Classical Prose (Part 15)

”Are Mom and Dad’s health still good? Weijun has started working, right? Is Weihong’s school on vacation yet?”

After the pleasantries, He Weiguo sat down and asked He Tiantian about the family’s situation.

”Mom and Dad are in great health. When I left, Dad was still playing volleyball with the youngsters in the factory!”

”Big Brother is currently studying with Chief Engineer Seo and is doing quite well.”

”Sister and Mom have dug up all the flowers in the yard; they’re planning on planting some potatoes and sweet potatoes!”

He Tiantian opened a package of candy printed with Russian words, took out a purple candy wrapped in cellophane, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth.

Hmm, chocolate with peanut bits, quite sweet.

In the future, He Tiantian would definitely not touch this; it was practically a calorie bomb.

But in this era, coupled with her own exaggerated Golden Finger, this type of candy, sickeningly sweet and high in calories, turned out to be the best snack for He Tiantian to replenish her nutrition.

After eating a piece, He Tiantian found it quite good and grabbed another handful.

However, this time, she didn’t rush to eat it but picked out two pieces and reluctantly handed them to He Weiguo, ”Brother, have some. They’re especially sweet and even have peanuts!”

Of course, He Weiguo didn’t miss his little sister’s reluctant expression and couldn’t help but smile, ”Too sweet for me, I don’t like it much. You eat!”

After all, their mother had already written to him about his little sister needing a lot of high-calorie and nutritious food to support her mental exertion.

And it was precisely because of this that He Weiguo had taken out the hard-earned Foreign Exchange Vouchers and ran to the Friendship Store to buy these items.

Originally, He Weiguo wanted to buy a TV or a washing machine for the family with those vouchers.

But his little sister was more important.

While He Weiguo hadn’t witnessed his little sister’s miracles himself, from the things his mother wrote in the letters alone, not to mention the fact that his sister had been ”seconded” to the Atomic Energy Research Institute, it was enough to prove how capable his little sister really was.

”This candy is indeed too sweet, Dad doesn’t like sweet things either.”

He Tiantian continued to pretend to believe that her family ”didn’t like” to eat it and retracted her hand.

”...Tiantian, have you gone to see the flag-raising or climbed the Great Wall during your days in the Capital City?”

”Let’s go some day when I’m off. I’ll take you there. We can take some photos together and send them to Mom and Dad!”

”Right, if you need to find me next time, you might have to go to the Foreign Affairs Department. I’ve already been transferred from the institute and am preparing to work there!”

”Next week, I’ll be reporting to my new position, and as soon as I have a confirmed contact method, I’ll let you know, okay?”

He Weiguo spoke slowly, visibly excited when he mentioned his new job.

Actually, compared to working in the laboratory, he preferred working on the foreign front.

Hearing his former classmates in the Foreign Affairs Department talk about their work filled He Weiguo with an ardent longing.

He was proficient in Russian and English, had studied abroad in the Soviet Union and America, and possessed unshakable beliefs, which perfectly met the requirements of the Foreign Affairs Department.

Knowing his aspirations, his teacher, considering the specific circumstances, had arranged for him to work in the Foreign Affairs Department.

”Big Brother, once you’re in the Foreign Affairs Department, does it mean you’ll often go abroad?”

He Tiantian’s eyes brightened, as if struck by a thought, and she hurriedly asked.

He Weiguo misunderstood, thinking that his little sister was yearning for the delicacies from abroad, and laughingly said, ”Yes, then I can bring you back some local delicacies!”

”Delicacies are definitely welcome, but if possible, can you bring me back some science and technology magazines?”

He Tiantian’s eyes glinted with an intense light, her tone serious.

”Science and technology magazines?” He Weiguo was taken aback.

He Tiantian nodded vigorously, pointing to her head, ”I have indeed stored a lot of knowledge here, but there will come a day when it’s used up. I must constantly update and upgrade my data bank!”

”Update? Upgrade?” He Weiguo was surprised.

In fact, not only He Weiguo but also Chief Engineer and some leaders were taken aback after hearing He Tiantian’s words.

But soon, everyone realized: Indeed, even if Comrade Tiantian is a treasure, if it’s only tapped and never replenished, it will eventually run out.

At that time, should they just let He Tiantian function as a calculator?

Yet, she has the potential to be the latest model of Human-shaped Computer.

Just like people at Factory 3518 joked, here in the Capital City, He Tiantian’s ”101” nickname had also been recognized.
