My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Alright, I’ll head over right away.” Ye Guichen hurriedly got dressed and caught a cab to the street food alley.

But before he could get to Jixiang Noodle House, Ye Guichen was stunned by the scene not far away.

A good hundred people were gathered at the entrance of Jixiang Noodle House, making a ruckus like they were in a brawl.

Ye Guichen frowned. Could someone be causing trouble again?

Before he could get closer, Huang Mao had already spotted him and came running over, sweating profusely. ”Boss Ye, we’re rich! This time, we’ve really struck gold.”

Seeing Huang Mao looking so excited, Ye Guichen asked curiously, ”What’s going on?”

”We don’t really know either. As soon as day broke, people started coming, saying they wanted to eat a bowl of ’One Night Seven Times’ noodles. We had no idea what was going on, but later we found out that they’re here for the insanely expensive noodles. And then it turned into this...”

Ye Guichen swallowed. ”All these people are here to eat Qiqiao Linglong Noodles?”

”Yeah, but you said you only sell ten bowls a day. These people have gone mad, insisting on staying in line for tomorrow’s noodles. Gosh, this—this is a cash bonanza!” Even though Huang Mao wasn’t well-educated, he could still do this math.

Even if there weren’t a hundred people, there were at least seventy or eighty, and it looked like more were on their way.

One bowl per person, that’s nearly a million!

How could making money feel like picking it up on the street?

Ye Guichen rubbed his head. Knowing it wasn’t real trouble, he let out a long sigh of relief.

Could it be because of the livestream?

Yesterday he was too busy drinking to notice the traffic on the stream. A quick inquiry confirmed that most of these people were here because of the livestream.

Ye Guichen never thought he could make money from livestreaming.

”Big brother, big brother, you’re really here,” a voice came from behind just as Ye Guichen was feeling emotional.

Ye Guichen turned his head to see Shang Shufang coming over with a few underlings.

But, from the way they were walking, they seemed unsteady, as if they were still drunk.

”Why are you here?” Ye Guichen was surprised to see Shang Shufang, but it didn’t look like he was here to cause trouble.

”Big brother, I surrender. Whatever happened before, let’s call it even!” Shang Shufang smiled cheekily, ”Big brother, I didn’t expect you to be such a drinker. Just for that, I admit defeat. I owe you that ten million from yesterday willingly.”

”Well, well, that’s rare.” Ye Guichen looked at Shang Shufang with newfound respect.

This guy didn’t hold grudges after all.

Shang Shufang leaned in closer to Ye Guichen and whispered, ”Big brother, could you sign with our Shanghu Live? Hehe, from now on, all you need to do is drink. I’ll pay you ten thousand a day. How about that?”

Ten thousand a day, better than doing anything else.

Huang Mao swallowed instinctively when he heard that.

Oh my god, ten thousand a day, that’s three hundred thousand a month. Since when did money become so easy to earn?

Instinctively, Huang Mao listened intently.

Shang Shufang seemed concerned that others might overhear his business secret, so he lowered his voice even more and said, ”Big brother, you have no idea. Yesterday, just that drinking session made our platform two million. Hehe, if you agree, we can split it fifty-fifty. No, you get seventy, I get thirty.”

Plop.

Huang Mao dropped to his knees.

He looked at Ye Guichen with eyes full of admiration.

You can make money just by drinking?

This was his specialty. If he had known earlier that drinking could make money, why would he still be messing around on the streets?

Of course, if he knew Ye Guichen’s capacity for alcohol, he probably wouldn’t have thought that way.

Ye Guichen hadn’t expected livestreaming to be so profitable either. He looked straight at Shang Shufang, ”Are you serious?”

”Honest as can be!” Shang Shufang pounded his chest. ”Hehe, Li Ruoxuan may be pretty, but women are like clothing, brothers are like limbs. Now that Li Ruoxuan is your woman, I won’t pursue her anymore. How about that? I mean what I say.”

”Not at all.” Ye Guichen curled his lips, pointing at Jixiang Noodle House not far away. ”Look, I have a more profitable venture. Why would I work for you?”

”Huh?” Before coming over, Shang Shufang had already looked into Jixiang Noodle House and knew that it hadn’t been doing well. They had recently introduced a medicinal noodle, which seemed to have improved business a bit, but it was so expensive that few people bought it.

He hadn’t expected Ye Guichen to be involved in that.

”Big brother, let’s partner up. We’ll team up.” Shang Shufang looked at Ye Guichen eagerly. ”As long as you join our platform, I’ll invest in the Medicinal Food Restaurant.”

”Uh, I can drink too. Can I join?” Huang Mao timidly raised his hand, ”I don’t need much, one thousand a day is enough. I can drink a brewery out of business.”

”Get lost!” Shang Shufang rolled his eyes at Huang Mao and shouted in annoyance, then looked at Ye Guichen with a face full of eagerness, ”Big brother, you’re like a real brother to me. What do you say?”

”Cough, cough, fine, fine. Too much alcohol isn’t good for the body, I want to live a few more years.” Ye Guichen looked across the street at the Imperial Medical Restaurant. ”But, if you really want to make money, you can invest. If you can help me take over that Imperial Noodle House across the street, I guarantee you can make more money than livestreaming.”

”Really?” Shang Shufang was a bit skeptical.

Since going independent, Shang Shufang had made his own money and was quite savvy. He had grown Shanghu Live into a bustling business, which was a testament to his skills.

But he wasn’t familiar with the food industry. However, thinking about how Ye Guichen could drink anyone under the table, he decided to trust him this time.

”Alright, big brother, I believe in you. Leave it to me.” Shang Shufang didn’t know that the Imperial Medical Restaurant had ties to his father. As long as they could make money, he was in.

In his life philosophy, besides women, it was all about making money.

And making money was to enjoy with women.

Of course, the tasks given by his father didn’t matter much to him since he didn’t really need his father’s money anyway.

Seeing how readily Shang Shufang agreed, Ye Guichen looked at him with even more respect.

Though this guy had money, he also had vision. If it were any other rich kid, not only would they not call him ”big brother,” they’d be out for revenge.

”Alright, I’ll be waiting for your news.” Ye Guichen patted Shang Shufang’s shoulder, and seeing that Huang Mao was still in a daze, he waved at him, ”Huang Mao, from now on, keep in touch with Shang Shufang if there’s anything. He’s a big shot in the livestreaming world. He might be able to help you out.”

”Brother Huang, nice to meet you!” Shang Shufang was polite, making Huang Mao feel awkward.

Shang Shufang looked every bit the rich young man, calling him ”brother” was a treatment he had never experienced before.

Since following Ye Guichen, Huang Mao felt like he was walking on air, able to hold his head high without getting gossiped about.

He quickly rubbed his hands together, ”Don’t call me Brother Huang. Actually, my last name is Mao, Mao Xingwang, hehe.”

Meanwhile, on the second floor of the Imperial Medical Restaurant.

Zhu Neng’s eyes were nearly popping out.

Seeing the new store about to open, the noodle house across the street was booming. Did they plan to crush their Imperial Medical Restaurant into the ground?

”Damn it, keep an eye on it. Find out what’s going on, and figure out a way to ruin Jixiang Noodle House across the street!” Zhu Neng angrily ordered.
