My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Frauds, you are all frauds here at Yunji Hall!”

”Everyone, please judge this fairly. They let someone die, and now they don’t care. My poor wife!”

”You need to pay with your lives, I want you to pay with your lives!”

Amid the clamor, someone was crying loudly.

The people standing at the door shook their heads repeatedly.

”Sigh, I used to come to Yunji Hall for treatment often, but I never thought they would let someone die. Thinking about it is truly frightening.”

”Absolutely. I don’t dare come here for treatment ever again.”

”That guy Su Tong still claims to be a Divine Doctor, but now it seems like he’s just so-so.”

”Alright, if you have any illnesses, go to Tongren Hall across the street. Hua Jingsong from Tongren Hall is a true Divine Doctor.”

As the discussions continued, Ye Guichen squeezed into the crowd and saw a woman lying on the ground in the hall.

The woman had foam around her mouth, her lips were purple, and she appeared to have already passed away.

Beside her, a man was wiping away tears while pointing at Su Tong and cursing.

If not for the two assistants holding him back, the man might have hit Su Tong.

Su Tong’s face looked very bad.

He gritted his teeth and barely managed to stay calm, soothingly saying, ”There’s nothing wrong with the medicine I prescribed. This person definitely didn’t die from taking my medicine.”

Seeing Su Tong still trying to argue, the man’s face immediately turned red, and he abruptly stood up, rushing towards Su Tong: ”You old scoundrel! The person is already dead, and you’re still being stubborn? Today, I must destroy your sign!”

Shouting, the man charged towards the counter, picked up a stool, and started smashing it around.

Several of the pharmacy’s assistants immediately rushed forward to grab the man’s arm.

The man struggled to break free, shouting hoarsely, ”Is there no justice? Someone dies from your medicine, and you won’t admit it! Where in the world is there any justice?”

The crowd began pointing fingers at Su Tong.

”So unethical. Who would dare come here for medicine in the future?”

”Indeed, look at how old he is. It’s disgraceful to stop others from venting their anger!”

”Su Tong, are you even human?”

Many people here clearly knew Su Tong and were almost spitting on him in disdain.

At this moment, a girl named Linglong rolled out from the backyard in a wheelchair. Seeing Su Tong trembling with anger, yet helpless, she couldn’t help but call out, ”Everyone, you accuse us of causing this death without any proof. Do you have any evidence?”

Seeing the girl, the man was first stunned, then cursed, ”Who are you, little girl? My wife came here for some medicine because of stomach pain, and after taking the medicine, she was writhing in pain on the ground. She couldn’t even make it to the hospital. If you claim she didn’t die because of your medicine, then did she poison herself?”

This kind of thing was indeed troublesome.

The man waved the prescription in his hand, ”Look, this prescription was written here. Are you still going to deny it?”

The prescription clearly bore the stamp of Yunji Hall, and every ingredient was clearly listed.

Seeing the man hold solid evidence, the crowd grew even more indignant.

Su Tong sighed and said to Linglong, ”Girl, this has nothing to do with you. Go back and rest.”

”Grandpa Su, let me examine the person,” Linglong said, blinking her big eyes.

”Examine her?” the man eyed Linglong suspiciously. Noticing Linglong’s disabled legs, he became angrier, ”Why would a crippled person want to examine my wife? My wife is already dead. What else do you want?”

When the man said ’crippled’, a hint of pain flashed in Linglong’s eyes, but she forced a smile, ”Sir, I am part of Yunji Hall and also versed in medicine. If my examination shows no issue, rest assured, we won’t ignore it.”

”You?” the man sneered dismissively.

The assistants at Yunji Hall reacted defensively.

”Hey, what do you know? This is Mr. Su’s granddaughter. Her medical skills are extraordinary.”

”Stop causing a ruckus. If Miss Linglong can’t figure out the problem, we won’t say anything.”

”No way!” The man stood defensively over his wife’s body, ”Since you are all from Yunji Hall, why should I let you examine her? You are all in cahoots, trying to escape responsibility after harming people. No way.”

”This...” Linglong didn’t expect the man to be unreasonable.

Su Tong’s face darkened, ”If we did misprescribe, we wouldn’t avoid responsibility. However, if it’s not our fault, don’t think you can get away with falsely accusing us!”

”Listen to him! He’s threatening me now!” the man shouted, stirring further discontent among the onlookers.

”Respect the dead, Mr. Su. Saying such things now is disrespectful to the deceased.”

”Even if someone died from your medicine, admitting it would not kill you.”

”Su Tong, I used to think you were a Divine Doctor, but now it seems you’re just a charlatan!”

Many people began to criticize Su Tong.

At this moment, a voice rang out, ”Everyone, if you trust me, how about I examine the body?”

The crowd turned to the voice.

An older man in a long robe, his hair and beard half white.

”Is that Doctor Hua?”

”My god, it’s Doctor Hua from Tongren Hall!”

”He is highly respected. With him passing judgment, let’s see how Yunji Hall can argue.”

Many people recognized Hua Jingsong.

The man was taken aback and looked at Hua Jingsong, ”You are Hua Jingsong, Doctor Hua?”

Hua Jingsong smiled gently and waved his hand, ”I dare not claim to be a Divine Doctor. I merely aim to save lives. Although I know Doctor Su, I assure you I will be impartial. I hope you can trust me.”

”Of course, I trust you, Doctor Hua,” the man glared at Su Tong and then nodded quickly.

Hua Jingsong smiled at Su Tong, ”Mr. Su, may I examine the body?”

Su Tong knew Hua Jingsong, though they rarely interacted.

Although he didn’t understand why Hua Jingsong suddenly came to help, Su Tong nodded politely, ”Thank you.”

People no longer trusted Yunji Hall doctors.

Even though Su Tong was confident in his prescription, without concrete evidence, no one believed him.

Standing in the crowd, Ye Guichen didn’t expect to see Hua Jingsong here.

Previously, he had seen Hua Jingsong giving a cursory look at an injured worker in a food street, dismissing it as hopeless.

Now, he was playing the role of an impartial judge, piquing Ye Guichen’s curiosity.

Ye Guichen didn’t speak up.

He didn’t know much about Su Tong or Yunji Hall, and couldn’t be sure if the woman had really died from the medicine.

However, he believed the truth would eventually come out.

Seeing Su Tong agree, Hua Jingsong nodded slightly and first checked the deceased’s pupils, then felt her pulse. He then took out a silver needle, exposed the deceased’s navel, and tested it with the needle.
