My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Sir, we are not serving you today. Please apologize to my wife first!” Zhao Erdan, who used to be intimidated by wealthy people like this and could only swallow his pride, has spent enough time with Ye Guichen to start standing up taller unconsciously.

The middle-aged man didn’t expect Zhao Erdan to dare to ask for an apology. He looked Zhao Erdan up and down with disdain and said, ”Apologize? Haha, who the hell do you think you are? Do you even know who I am? With this small noodle shop of yours, I could crush you like an ant. If it weren’t for this Seven Treasure Linglong Noodle, I wouldn’t even have stepped into this trashy noodle shop. Don’t make me say it again, hurry up!”

”Apologize, or get out!” Zhao Erdan was angry, pointing at the door and shouting.

Li Xiaoqin quickly pulled Zhao Erdan.

This middle-aged man was clearly not to be trifled with.

Finally, the gang led by Huang Mao stopped causing trouble. Li Xiaoqin didn’t want to stir up more issues and whispered, ”Old Zhao, let it go. Don’t make more trouble.”

Zhao Erdan wouldn’t listen, ”Wife, don’t be afraid.”

Then he turned to the middle-aged man, ”I don’t care about your filthy money. Since you don’t want to come to our small noodle shop, then please leave.”

”Damn, don’t know how to appreciate a favor, huh?” The middle-aged man slapped the table and stood up, ”You’re really not going to make my noodles?”

”No!” Zhao Erdan shook his head firmly.

The middle-aged man grabbed his cash, pointed at Zhao Erdan, and cursed, ”Alright, you’ve got guts. Just wait, let’s see how you keep your business running.”

With that, he grabbed the table, ready to flip it.

Zhao Erdan, quick with his hands, slapped out, making the middle-aged man dizzy.

The middle-aged man was stunned and, seeing Zhao Erdan’s fierce look, started to feel a bit scared, ”Fine! Just you wait, if you dare.”

The middle-aged man left threatening words and ran away.

Zhao Erdan didn’t take the middle-aged man seriously and quickly reassured the other customers, ”It’s nothing, nothing, just drunk.”

However, no one noticed that after the middle-aged man left, he quickly slipped into an alley behind the food street.

In the alley, a man wearing sunglasses was smoking. Seeing the middle-aged man, he threw the cigarette butt on the ground and crushed it with his foot, asking, ”So, did you figure out the taste of the noodles?”

The middle-aged man shook his head sheepishly, ”No, I didn’t. That lousy noodle shop only serves ten bowls a day. Damn, they kicked me out.”

”Didn’t get to eat it?” The man with sunglasses’s face darkened and he slapped the middle-aged man, ”You’re really useless!”

The middle-aged man clearly didn’t expect to be hit. He held his face, looking at the man with sunglasses in shock, ”Why did you hit me?”

The middle-aged man was called Zhu Neng, a head chef at the famous Yun City restaurant, Huanghelou.

Huanghelou started with medicinal cuisine, but business hasn’t been good lately due to lack of new dishes.

Although Zhu Neng was the head chef, his monthly salary was just over ten thousand yuan.

Despite his low salary and his resemblance to a pig, Zhu Neng also followed the trend, keeping a young college girl as a mistress.

Just her expenses took up at least half of his salary each month.

Lately, because he was short of money, the girl often asked him for more. When Zhu Neng gave less, she wouldn’t let him touch her.

Angry, Zhu Neng had a big fight with the girl and went out to drink alone.

While drinking, the man with sunglasses came to him, offering ten thousand yuan to taste the expensive noodles. If he could identify the ingredients, another ten thousand would be added.

Zhu Neng, in dire need of money, couldn’t refuse such a good deal.

He initially thought the Seven Treasure Linglong Noodles were just a gimmick, throwing ten thousand yuan around should easily get him a bowl.

Moreover, as a seasoned chef, Zhu Neng believed identifying the components of a noodle dish would be a piece of cake.

Unexpectedly, he overplayed his hand, didn’t get the noodles, and ended up getting slapped twice.

Zhu Neng took the money given to him by the man with sunglasses out of his briefcase and threw it towards him, ”Forget it, I’m not doing it. Why the hell did you hit me?”

The man with sunglasses didn’t take the money, but instead sneered, ”Zhu Neng, did you think it would be that easy to return the money after taking it?”

”What, you plan to blackmail me?” Zhu Neng didn’t care about the man with sunglasses’s threat.

Now mostly sober and seeing that the man with sunglasses seemed tough, Zhu Neng didn’t want more trouble and turned to leave.

Just as he turned, he felt a cold sensation on his neck.

Zhu Neng shivered, looking down to see a knife pressed against his throat and instinctively raised his hands, ”Brother, what’s this about?”

”Nothing much. Didn’t you boast about being the Food God who could identify any dish? Let’s go. Since you took the money, you must finish the task.” Zhu Neng was nearly scared to death.

He was just a chef and had never encountered knife fights.

”Brother, we can talk about this. I’ll try again, I’ll try again.” Zhu Neng stammered.

”Alright, come with me first.” The man with sunglasses didn’t want to hear Zhu Neng’s nonsense, ”Of course, if you want a cut on your throat, I can arrange that too.”

”No, no, brother, I’ll go with you.” Zhu Neng didn’t dare resist and followed the man with sunglasses into a nearby teahouse.

The teahouse had a private room.

At the door, the man with sunglasses knocked respectfully twice, ”Boss, he’s here.”

”Let him in.” A man’s voice came from inside.

The man with sunglasses opened the door and pushed Zhu Neng, ”Go in.”

Zhu Neng had no idea what was happening but didn’t dare resist. He walked in trembling.

The man with sunglasses stayed at the door, guarding.

As Zhu Neng entered the teahouse, he saw a man sitting at an old-fashioned wooden table.

The man wore a long robe and was slowly sipping tea.

Seeing Zhu Neng enter, the man looked up and smiled slightly, motioning to the seat opposite, ”You are Zhu Neng, right? Sit down first.”

Zhu Neng didn’t dare sit and smiled nervously, ”Sir, we don’t know each other. If there’s something you need, just say the word, and I’ll do my best.”

Zhu Neng wasn’t dumb and could tell at a glance that this man was not ordinary.

The man smiled faintly and didn’t rush things, ”Let me introduce myself. I am Shang Wen Dong, but everyone calls me Brother Dong.”

”Shang Wen Dong?” Zhu Neng’s pupils shrank and his legs nearly gave out, almost kneeling.

My God, no wonder the man with sunglasses was so arrogant, he’s with Shang Wen Dong.

Others may not know Shang Wen Dong, but Zhu Neng did.

Recently, desperate for money, Zhu Neng had borrowed ten thousand from Wendong Finance.

Swallowing hard, Zhu Neng smiled ingratiatingly, ”Brother Dong, I didn’t know it was you. If I had known, I would have handled it perfectly.”
