My Silly, Sweet Wife

Snack Street.

Yu Jieyuan’s efficiency was indeed high. Despite still having his head wrapped in bandages, he rented the two storefronts next to Jixiang Noodle House at the fastest speed, and renovation had already begun.

Because Jixiang Noodle House was too small, and under Yu Jieyuan’s calculations, there were no major changes made.

Now, people were coming and going at Jixiang Noodle House, and the expensive noodles, while attracting attention, quickly earned a reputation.

Many people heard that eating the noodles could cure neurasthenia, relieve back pain and leg aches, and even improve abilities in other aspects. Wealthy patrons came with the mindset of giving it a try.

Word spread quickly.

In just a few days, a large number of people knew about this noodle house.

After being discharged from the hospital, Zhao Erdan was originally worried about what to do in the future, but seeing the noodle house’s business booming, he felt a wave of emotion.

”Honey, is it true that Boss Ye gave you the recipe?” Looking at the small noodle house filled with people, Zhao Erdan sighed, still hardly believing that a bowl of noodles could be this popular.

These past few days, Li Xiaoqin hadn’t stopped smiling, busy from morning to night, barely finding time to speak: ”Yes, Old Zhao, you don’t know how lucky we are to have met someone like Mr. Ye. I never dreamed we could make thousands in a single day. Oh, and I’ve got more good news: yesterday Huang Mao came to apologize personally and said he won’t collect protection fees anymore. Not just from us, but the whole street doesn’t have to pay anymore.”

Li Xiaoqin smiled mysteriously: ”You don’t know, the way the neighbors look at us has completely changed. They envy us for having such a powerful figure protecting us.”

In the past, although they did business together, Li Xiaoqin was never respected by others.

Ever since Ye Guichen visited, everything seemed to be getting better.

Now, as Li Xiaoqin walked down Snack Street, almost every shopkeeper who saw her would greet her as Sister Qin.

That feeling made Li Xiaoqin feel like she was floating.

Zhao Erdan also sighed.

He had thought that after injuring his leg and losing his job, life would be very hard, but he didn’t expect a blessing in disguise.

”Honey, we need to find time to thank Boss Ye properly. Without him, there’s no way we’d be where we are today,” Zhao Erdan added.

Li Xiaoqin nodded: ”Yes, Mr. Ye may be young, but he’s very loyal. Even though he’s partnering with us to open the shop, we should still follow the proper manners. No matter what, all our earnings are thanks to Mr. Ye. So, besides working hard, we’ll only keep one-tenth of the profits, and the rest must go to Mr. Ye.”

”Of course, of course,” Zhao Erdan nodded vigorously.

He had already been in contact with Yu Jieyuan. Including his Jixiang Noodle House, they planned to open three medicinal noodle houses on Snack Street.

With more days to make money in the future, even though Ye Guichen let him be the boss, Zhao Erdan knew he was just basking in Ye Guichen’s glory.

Moreover, Zhao Erdan understood deep down that it was already remarkable for any other company to spend money to treat his injuries, let alone help him so extensively.

Therefore, Zhao Erdan had already considered Ye Guichen as his benefactor.

Now, even if Ye Guichen asked him to take off his head, Zhao Erdan wouldn’t frown.

As Zhao Erdan and Li Xiaoqin were chatting while serving customers, a commotion suddenly broke out outside.

”Hell, I’ve got money, get me a bowl of Seven Jewels Linglong Noodles quickly!”

”Hey, there’s a queue to eat noodles, line up behind!”

”Exactly, this place only serves ten bowls a day, don’t cut the line!”

The noodle house was already small. With the commotion, the entrance quickly became chaotic.

Zhao Erdan and Li Xiaoqin exchanged a glance and immediately stepped out.

A middle-aged man in a suit was looking very arrogant, about to barge into the noodle house.

However, there were many rich people waiting in line outside, all eager to get a bowl of noodles, and they weren’t about to let him in.

With the pushing and shoving, the scene turned into a mess.

”Everyone, everyone, we only serve ten bowls of Seven Jewels Linglong Noodles a day. There are only two bowls left now. If you want to eat, you’ll have to settle for the regular noodles later.” Following Ye Guichen’s instructions, Li Xiaoqin announced that only ten bowls of medicinal noodles were served each day, which had greatly boosted their regular noodle sales.

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man looked up at Li Xiaoqin: ”Are you the boss?”

”Yes, yes, sir. If you want to eat, please come back tomorrow, or you can have our other noodles,” Li Xiaoqin said politely.

The middle-aged man wouldn’t listen: ”I’ve got plenty of money; it’s just another bowl. Hurry up.”

As he spoke, the middle-aged man pulled out a wad of cash from his briefcase, at least ten thousand yuan.

He threw it directly in Li Xiaoqin’s face: ”Hurry up, damn it. I’ve got money, hurry up!”

”Sir, it’s not about the money,” Li Xiaoqin was taken aback.

Although the noodles had gained a reputation in the past few days, most people came just for the curiosity. No one actually spent tens of thousands on a bowl of noodles.

However, the middle-aged man seemed drunk and had pulled out a large sum of money. If it had been the old days, Li Xiaoqin would’ve been overjoyed.

But she knew she couldn’t be too greedy. The noodle recipe was given by Ye Guichen, and she had to follow his instructions.

”Sir, I’m really sorry.” Even though Li Xiaoqin felt humiliated, she picked up the wad of cash and handed it back to the middle-aged man: ”We are just a small business, and we have our rules that we cannot break.”

”Damn it, a crappy small shop talking about rules?” The middle-aged man didn’t take the money but instead slapped Li Xiaoqin across the face: ”Hurry up, I’m running out of patience. Make the noodles!”

As he spoke, he shoved Li Xiaoqin aside and walked into the noodle house.

The noodle house was crowded, and there wasn’t an empty table.

The middle-aged man grabbed a customer and threw another wad of cash at him: ”Get lost, this spot is mine.”

The customer was initially angry but, seeing the money, gave the middle-aged man a glare, took the money, and left.

After all, they were just eating regular noodles, and now they could make some money. Why not?

The middle-aged man sat down heavily and patted the table: ”Hurry up, hurry up!”

The people at the entrance, seeing that the middle-aged man was wealthy and intimidating, didn’t dare to confront him, even though they were unhappy.

Zhao Erdan, seeing Li Xiaoqin getting slapped, was furious.

He grabbed the wad of cash, pulled Li Xiaoqin along, and slammed it on the middle-aged man’s table, glaring: ”Why did you hit my wife?”

The middle-aged man glanced sideways at Zhao Erdan: ”Your wife? Oh, so you’re the boss too? Alright, make the noodles. I want Seven Jewels Linglong Noodles. Right now.”
