My Silly, Sweet Wife

In the living room, Ye Guichen unabashedly scrutinized Bai Qinghe.

At the moment, Bai Qinghe was wrapped entirely in bandages, yet the bandages seemed like a tight-fitting outfit, thoroughly showcasing her exquisite figure, making it hard for Ye Guichen to resist taking a few extra glances.

Seeing Ye Guichen staring at her, Bai Qinghe’s expression darkened, ”Ye Guichen, don’t think that just because you saved me you can do as you please. Don’t forget, I’m more than ten years older than you.”

Ye Guichen showed no trace of shame and suddenly asked, ”Bai Qinghe, were you really not afraid of dying back then with how fiercely you fought?”

Thinking back now, Bai Qinghe indeed felt a bit terrified.

She hadn’t expected that she would risk her life to protect Chen Ziran, and even believed that Ye Guichen would save her.

If Ye Guichen had been even a little slower, she would have been dead beyond saving.

”I am a person who keeps my promises. Since I agreed to be Mr. Chen’s bodyguard, I must have the awareness of one.” Bai Qinghe rolled her eyes at Ye Guichen, ”If you’re just here to say this, then I’ll go rest now.”

”No rush.” Ye Guichen crossed his legs, ”Honestly, a woman with a figure like yours shouldn’t lack men, right?”

Although Ye Guichen knew Bai Qinghe was from the Azure Dragon Commerce, ever since meeting her, he had never seen her contact anyone else.

It was as if Bai Qinghe had no relatives at all.

But Ye Guichen didn’t believe that a woman with such a good figure wouldn’t have any men interested in her.

He had even carefully observed Bai Qinghe before and noticed she seemed to have given birth.

Bai Qinghe didn’t expect Ye Guichen to ask about this, a trace of panic flashed in her eyes as she turned her head aside, ”I’m just a bodyguard, there’s no need to tell you everything, right?”

”Fine, if you don’t want to say, that’s alright.” Ye Guichen didn’t press further, patted his knee, and stood up, ”Do you remember what I told you last time?”

”What?”

”Your martial arts skills are too low. Seeing how hard you worked, I’ve decided to make you a true third-rate expert!” Ye Guichen smiled, grabbed three packets of herbs from the coffee table, and went into the kitchen.

Bai Qinghe looked at Ye Guichen’s back for a moment and then pouted, ”Make me a third-rate expert? What a joke!”

Last time at the Chen Group, Ye Guichen did mention it, but Bai Qinghe didn’t take it to heart.

If medicine could make someone breakthrough, then martial artists would be everywhere in this world.

Moreover, Bai Qinghe knew, having been a quasi third-rate expert for so many years, her body likely had reached its limit, and making a breakthrough this lifetime wouldn’t be easy.

But seeing Ye Guichen’s confident demeanor, Bai Qinghe couldn’t help but be curious.

”This guy is good at fighting, just how skilled is he?” Bai Qinghe had always been somewhat puzzled about Ye Guichen’s true level.

To be able to easily kill someone like Bai Lang, he must at least be at the pinnacle of second-rate, right?

But such a strong master residing in a small place like Yun City really baffled her.

Ignoring Ye Guichen, Bai Qinghe turned and entered her bedroom.

Since she was Chen Ziran’s bodyguard, Bai Qinghe naturally lived here too.

Despite the room being small, it was enough for them.

Meanwhile, Ye Guichen was busy in the kitchen.

He first took out the rice cooker, added water, then turned it on, opened the three packs of herbs, weighed them in his hands, and took out portions, throwing them into the pot one by one.

Like a master chef, Ye Guichen busied himself in the kitchen.

During this time, Bai Qinghe and Chen Ziran came out several times, and although the kitchen door was closed, the aroma of the herbal medicine permeated the air.

”Guichen, what are you doing?” Chen Ziran couldn’t resist asking out of curiosity.

Through the door, Ye Guichen replied, ”Nothing, just making something for Sister Bai to heal.”

”Oh.” Knowing that Ye Guichen knew medicine, Chen Ziran didn’t suspect anything.

But Bai Qinghe found it increasingly strange.

Was this guy really making something to help her breakthrough in her martial arts level?

How could that be?

Filled with doubt, Bai Qinghe simply sat in the living room, waiting for Ye Guichen to come out and ask him.

After more than two hours, Ye Guichen’s excited voice came from the kitchen, ”It’s ready.”

Then he turned off the heat and emerged, holding a porcelain bowl.

In the bowl was a dark round pill, about the size of a ping-pong ball, emitting a foul odor.

The moment the kitchen door opened, the stench nearly made Bai Qinghe faint.

”Ye Guichen, what’s going on?” Bai Qinghe, covering her nose, frowned and asked sternly.

Ye Guichen chuckled, beckoning to Bai Qinghe, ”Come, follow me to the rooftop.”

Saying this, he quickly went out without waiting for Bai Qinghe’s response.

The building had six floors, with Chen Ziran living on the top floor, it was very close to the rooftop.

Soon, they reached the top.

It was already dark, and the city’s neon lights shone brightly from the rooftop.

”Ye Guichen, what are you up to?” Bai Qinghe asked, glaring at him as she followed.

Ye Guichen handed the bowl to Bai Qinghe, ”Sorry, with limited conditions, the smell couldn’t be suppressed, and it doesn’t look great, but don’t worry, the effect is guaranteed, eat it quickly, and I’ll help stabilize your level afterward. I also need to get some sleep.”

”What?” Bai Qinghe’s face showed confusion; she pointed at the foul-smelling pill and swallowed hard, ”Ye Guichen, you want me to eat this?”

”Yes, any issues?”

”Ye Guichen, what do you mean by this? Although I was with the Azure Dragon Commerce, I betrayed them to follow you, and almost died for you today, and this is how you repay me?” Bai Qinghe felt Ye Guichen was toying with her.

”Do you really think just because you can fight you’re invincible?” Bai Qinghe’s chest heaved with anger, almost feeling exasperated: ”Don’t tell me, eating this stinky pill will make me a third-rate master.”

If it really could, it wouldn’t just be Bai Qinghe; the whole world would be scrambling for these pills.

Ye Guichen shrugged, ”That’s why I said today is an opportunity. You experienced a life-and-death battle today, and your body is at its peak. Eating this pill will not only make you a third-rate master; if lucky, you might even reach the pinnacle of third-rate.”

”You...” Bai Qinghe thought Ye Guichen was crazy, thinking he was punishing her for her attitude.

”Ye Guichen, I know you can fight, but humiliating me like this, I’m not taking it!” Bai Qinghe turned to leave.

Ye Guichen sighed.

The pill certainly looked unappetizing.

But he urgently needed a third-rate master to stay by Chen Ziran’s side.

”Forget it, I’ll have to use force!” As Bai Qinghe turned, Ye Guichen grabbed her, moved to her side, and with his other hand, placed the pill in her mouth.

Bai Qinghe was shocked, about to curse him, but was surprised to find the foul-smelling pill melted instantly in her mouth.

Weirdly, her tongue registered a subtle fragrance, similar to eating stinky tofu.

Before she could figure out what happened, she felt her abdomen erupting like a volcano, a scorching heat surged up.

This feeling, Bai Qinghe hadn’t experienced for years.

”This, how is this possible?” In that moment, Bai Qinghe realized she was about to breakthrough.
