My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Trash!” Lin Gang looked at his battered underling in front of him, feeling his anger erupt.

He had never suffered such a big loss and been humiliated like this before.

Yesterday’s public acknowledgment of his mistake and fleeing was already humiliating, but today he tried to send someone to cause trouble and even ended up with his men getting detained.

”Damn it, do you think I’m paying you just to eat?!” Lin Gang kicked the underling to the ground.

The man curled up, clutching his stomach and choking out, ”Brother Gang, we didn’t expect them to have someone watching outside! Hu Zi got caught. They said they won’t release him without ten thousand yuan. What do we do?”

”Shit!” Lin Gang sat down heavily, glaring coldly at the thug in front of him. ”Money is a small issue, but if this gets out, how do you expect me to maintain my standing? Useless! Who told you to use my name? Now you’ve dragged me into this mess. What do you propose we do now?”

The thug, sweating profusely from the pain, struggled to get up. ”Brother Gang, there’s something I don’t know if I should say.”

”Damn it, are you trying to act mysterious in front of me?” Lin Gang, hearing this, raised his hand, ready to give the thug a slap.

The thug quickly recoiled in fear. ”Brother Gang, please don’t hit me. Let me finish first!”

”Get on with it!” Lin Gang’s expression was dark. Having been foiled by Ye Guichen twice in a row, he could barely contain his fury.

But for now, he couldn’t think of a way to deal with Ye Guichen.

The thug hesitated for a moment before speaking nervously, ”Brother Gang, it’s strange. Hu Zi and I ate an outrageously expensive bowl of noodles at Jixiang Noodle House, and it felt as if we were revitalized.”

”What do you mean?” Lin Gang gave the thug a disdainful look. ”Looking at you beaten up like this, you felt revitalized? Are you a masochist?”

”No, no.” The thug quickly waved his hands. ”Today, Jixiang Noodle House had a special, called ’Seven Treasures Noodles,’ priced at 888 yuan a bowl. Hu Zi and I went to cause trouble, planning to throw a fly in the bowl and then create a scene. But after taking one bite, we couldn’t stop, finishing the entire bowl in no time.”

As he spoke, the thug seemed to forget his pain, reminiscing with a look of endless appreciation. ”I didn’t pay attention at the time, but looking back now, after eating those noodles, I felt rejuvenated. You know how I was up till four in the morning at the club last night and was exhausted all day. But after the noodles, not only wasn’t I tired anymore, I felt like I could go for 300 rounds with a woman!”

Lin Gang straightened up at this.

He knew his underlings well enough.

This thug, nicknamed Chicken Head, was in charge of overseeing his massage parlors at night and usually slept during the day.

Because of the constant time shifts, despite being young, Chicken Head couldn’t last long in bed.

This troubled him greatly, and he’d seen numerous doctors, all of whom just told him to get more rest.

But how could Chicken Head, being in this line of work, get more rest?

Consequently, he’d tried various traditional medicines, but nothing worked.

In his frustration, he’d even caused a scene at the hospital, injuring a doctor.

But the result remained the same: Chicken Head was perpetually groggy and lost interest in women.

Now, hearing Chicken Head speak so earnestly, Lin Gang found it odd. ”Did you get hit in the head? How can there be such miraculous noodles in the world?”

Chicken Head immediately raised his hand and swore. ”Brother Gang, it’s true. I’m telling the truth. Those were the best noodles I’ve ever had. You can try them yourself if you don’t believe me!”

Lin Gang fell silent and furrowed his brow in thought. ”If that’s really the case, then this might be an opportunity.”

”Let’s go see for ourselves. If what you said is true, I’ll let you off this time!” Lin Gang stood up and led a group of his men straight to Jixiang Noodle House.

This time, Lin Gang didn’t take any chances and brought over thirty men, all armed.

When they arrived at the noodle house, Ye Guichen hadn’t shown up yet.

Seeing Lin Gang bring so many men, Zhang Fugui and the others were startled.

But remembering Ye Guichen’s words, they remained composed.

Lin Gang glanced at Zhang Fugui, then at the now-awake Hu Zi, and walked into the noodle house, taking a seat.

”You’re Li Xiaoqin, right?” With so many men around, Lin Gang felt confident, looking up at Li Xiaoqin.

Trembling, Li Xiaoqin nodded.

Lin Gang pointed at the sign displaying the overpriced noodles. ”We’ll talk about our grudge later. First, make me a bowl of those noodles to try.”

”Brother Gang, I...” Seeing Lin Gang with so many men, Li Xiaoqin thought he was there to smash the shop, but he unexpectedly wanted to eat noodles.

”Didn’t you hear me?” Seeing Li Xiaoqin standing still, Lin Gang roared. ”Damn it, hurry up! My patience is limited. Earlier, you had the upper hand, so I left it alone. But this is my territory. If I want to deal with you, it’s as easy as squashing an ant!”

Lin Gang wasn’t wrong. Ye Guichen couldn’t be there all the time.

Unless Ye Guichen dealt with Lin Gang once and for all, Lin Gang would just keep coming back, making business impossible.

Seeing the intimidation outside, Zhang Fugui knew this wasn’t the time to be brave. As long as they waited for Ye Guichen, everything would be fine. He nodded at Li Xiaoqin.

Helpless, Li Xiaoqin went into the kitchen to make the noodles.

After twenty minutes or so, Li Xiaoqin walked out with a bowl of noodles and placed it in front of Lin Gang.

Lin Gang’s eyes lit up at the aroma of the Seven Treasures Noodles.

He beckoned Chicken Head over.

Chicken Head approached eagerly.

”Are these the noodles?” Lin Gang pointed at the bowl.

Chicken Head glanced at it and nodded vigorously. ”Yes, yes.”

As he spoke, Chicken Head even swallowed unconsciously. If Lin Gang hadn’t been there, he might have lunged at the noodles already.

Lin Gang said nothing more, picking up his chopsticks and eating with great gusto.

In less than thirty seconds, Lin Gang had finished the entire bowl.

His mouth was full of lingering flavor.

Even his eyes began to sparkle.

Feeling his body, Lin Gang became increasingly amazed.

From the old fights, Lin Gang had many injuries that often ached.

Now, as he felt it, those old wounds didn’t hurt anymore, and more miraculously, he felt rejuvenated as if he’d had a full night’s sleep.

”This is amazing!” Lin Gang couldn’t help but marvel.

If he hadn’t experienced it himself, he wouldn’t have believed a bowl of noodles could be so miraculous.

”What’s in these noodles?” Lin Gang looked up at Li Xiaoqin.

Li Xiaoqin hesitated briefly but answered honestly. ”There are a few medicinal ingredients. It’s a medicinal noodle.”

”Medicinal noodle?” Lin Gang nodded lightly and then drew a dagger from his waist, slapping it onto the table. ”Alright. I’ll give you a chance. Give me the recipe for these noodles, and I’ll wipe our slate clean!”
