Chapter 1485: Chapter 8: Speak Plainly

After reviewing the attributes of the ”Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version),” Su Xiao was quite surprised since he drastically weakened the initial effects of the ancient potion considering the addition of spirit particles and the manufacturing costs. Humans drinking this potion can only restore 21% of their life value, which is equivalent to a green-quality potion.

This significant reduction in effect has greatly lowered the manufacturing cost. Now, Su Xiao can produce a bottle of ”Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version)” at approximately 80-100 mana value; if he is skilled enough, the mana required for each production can even drop to around 60-80 points.

For Su Xiao, whose mana limit has reached 6076 points, as long as there is enough quantity and various materials are adequate, he can manufacture nearly a hundred bottles of this potion in a short time.

The materials are indeed not core; the core is the semi-solidified spirit particle. If the Core of Devour hadn’t broken through the upper level twice, Su Xiao wouldn’t have achieved this.

When a Soul Reaper consumes the ”Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version),” the recovery effect is four times, which is already a considerable amount of recovery. Not only that but drinking this potion can also permanently enhance spiritual pressure.

Although it only increases by 0.2%, it is a boost. No matter how subtle the improvement, Captain-level Soul Reapers can perceive it, as for the maximum improvement limit of 3%, Su Xiao will not let the Soul Reapers know.

If operated properly, Su Xiao can even give the Soul Reapers an illusion that this potion can infinitely enhance spiritual pressure. In that case, the Soul Reapers in Jingling Court will surely take the bait.

Su Xiao didn’t expect that the ”Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version)” could enhance spiritual pressure. He just prepared it according to the original recipe of the ancient secret medicine, and from the current results, this is caused by the nature of the ancient secret medicine.

When he first obtained the ancient secret medicine formula, Su Xiao saw a passage in the description: ’After mastering this formula, exercise caution. You will become a valuable talent that many major forces in the Derivative World/War World/Original World want to recruit or seize.’

Judging by the current effect of the Alchemy Secret Medicine, its description is not exaggerated but rather modest.

”It seems... I need to appropriately change the plan.”

Su Xiao stood up and walked to the front of the sliding door, pulling open the wooden sliding door. Two Soul Reapers stood outside; nominally for protection, they were actually for surveillance. Su Xiao was currently under house arrest, but he did not mind.

”Please inform Captain Uzohara Retsu, the ancient...”

Su Xiao was about to say ’ancient secret medicine,’ but a thought suddenly flashed in his mind to rename the Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version) to sound more mysterious.

”Tell her the ’Soul Elixir’ has been prepared.”

Su Xiao held a crystal bottle between his fingers, which looked quite exquisite, but actually, it only cost 15 paradise coins to exchange for one in Reincarnation Paradise.

A mysterious name, an upscale packaging, an effect exaggerated due to limited quantity—this combination punch, Su Xiao doesn’t believe it won’t daze the Soul Reapers in Jingling Court.

A slightly plump Soul Reaper at the door took the Alchemy Secret Medicine—in fact, now it’s called the Soul Elixir...

After handing over a bottle of Soul Elixir, Su Xiao began to continue manufacturing. He needed to ensure at least 50 bottles of this substance in hand; as for how much to submit each day due to ’limited production,’ a maximum of 7 to 10 bottles daily; as for mass production? If mass-produced, the Soul Reapers would completely understand the properties of the Soul Elixir, reducing its perceived value.

A life-saving + permanent strength-enhancing potion at critical moments, the Soul Reapers are not saints. Like humans, they have desires, and Su Xiao doesn’t believe they won’t be tempted.

With repetitive manufacturing of the Soul Elixir, Su Xiao became more skillful. When only 400 points of mana were left, he had produced 16 bottles of Soul Elixir, all stored in his storage space.

After a day and night of continuous research and potion production, this expended significant mental energy. Su Xiao fell asleep immediately, as Jingling Court was currently very safe for him. Once the Soul Elixir’s effects were announced, if any contractor wanted to kill Su Xiao, those Captain-level Soul Reapers would not sit idly; at least four captains wouldn’t, namely: Uzohara Retsu, Sosuke Aizen, Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni, Momo Hinamori.

After a half-hour nap, Uzohara Retsu visited. With her composure, even knowing what the Soul Elixir represented, she remained calm.

Su Xiao yawned, feeling a bit drowsy, with an overcoat draped over his shoulders.

”I’ve had someone test that potion. It’s quite good.”

Uzohara Retsu got straight to the point, her gaze focused intensely on Su Xiao.

”Oh.”

Su Xiao had just been woken after a half-hour nap, so he was understandably a bit muddled. Not sleeping is fine, but being woken after a nap is actually more tiring.

”You can mass-produce it. While doing so, I’ll help you change residences.”

”Mass-producing is a bit challenging.”

Su Xiao spoke lazily; his disguising had become more adept, or rather, he had already immersed himself in the role.

”Hmm?”

Uzohara Retsu frowned, her smile fading.

”You should have tested the effects of that potion. To be honest, concocting potions isn’t difficult; the challenge lies in extracting semi-solidified spirit particles. These particles must retain their biological properties; natural spirit particles are equivalent to a stone; even eating a stone, one cannot absorb it. Converting spirit particles from H’ form into biological form and forming semi-solid is like...”

After describing for at least five minutes, Sister Hua, who was proficient in healing ability, was a bit puzzled. She felt the same confusion as Hiyori had felt before.

”I don’t understand, please speak plainly.”

Clearly, the bewildered Sister Hua belongs to a more straightforward type.

”In principle...”

Hearing the word ’principle,’ Sister Hua waved her hand. She had already guessed that she might not understand the following hundreds of words.

”How many bottles can be mass-produced daily?”

”If I push myself, around eight bottles. Considering abandoning this model, if the enhancement to spiritual pressure isn’t considered, mass production should be feasible, but the semi-solidified spirit particles still need to be blended in.”

Su Xiao’s meaning was simple; apart from him, no one can produce this potion.

Indeed, this is the case. He can manufacture the Soul Elixir, thanks to Alchemical Potion Study + Core of Devour + research experience. Regarding the Core of Devour, looking across the entire void, only two people possess it. One is Su Xiao, and the other cannot manufacture potions.

Hearing Su Xiao mention eight bottles, Sister Hua started getting a headache. In the context of ensuring it’s harmless, a potion permanently enhancing spiritual pressure—unique in the Soul Society.

”Come with me; someone wants to see you.”

Sister Hua stood up and headed toward the door; Su Xiao, draped with a coat and with a lazy demeanor, followed not too closely, leisurely enjoying the scenery of Jingling Court along the way.

Soon, Uzohara Retsu led Su Xiao to a wooden building. Although this wooden building looked a bit old, it emanated a sense of solemnity. The number ’one’ was written on the building, representing the center of authority for Guard Court Thirteen Teams—the First Squad’s base.

As for the person Su Xiao was to meet, there’s no need to guess; it’s definitely Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni, the General of Guard Court Thirteen Teams. In the Soul Society, he holds absolute authority; his life is almost synonymous with the history of Soul Society.
