Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1469: Chapter 91: The Goddess of Luck Is Smiling

”20,000 Paradise coins per level is within an acceptable range,” Su Xiao muttered to himself in the Skill Upgrading Warehouse.

Abilities like Goddess’s affection, which enhance Luck Attributes, naturally come with a hefty upgrade cost.

Su Xiao once had an experience in Demon Castle, where, after completing a certain game of Alice’s, he gained a 1-point Luck Attribute bonus.

After all the ’Guests’ imprisoned in the Demon Castle escaped, the enraged Alice confronted Su Xiao. Although she seemed to do nothing to him, she actually forcibly stripped away the luck gained from that game, for which Alice incurred punishment from Reincarnation Paradise.

The result was that all the ’Guests’ Alice had imprisoned escaped. These ’Guests,’ who had been incarcerated for hundreds of years and were filled with hatred, hid in the vast void, ready to take revenge on Alice at any moment, while Su Xiao lost the Luck Attribute bonus.

This made Su Xiao realize that the so-called ’permanent’ bonuses granted by powerful individuals were sometimes unreliable. After all, it’s just a bonus.

Goddess’s affection, however, is different. Although Su Xiao gained this ability through the Goddess of Luck, it has become his own ability; he needs to invest resources to enhance it and gradually see its effects. Even if the Goddess of Luck came personally, she couldn’t strip Su Xiao of this ability.

For this reason, Su Xiao decided to invest resources into abilities like Goddess’s affection.

Standing in the Skill Upgrading Warehouse, Su Xiao manipulated the virtual panel in front of him, selecting to enhance the Goddess’s affection ability. He still had 209,920 Paradise coins remaining, enough to raise Goddess’s affection to Lv.10.

After selecting to enhance the ability, the Skill Upgrading Warehouse started operating. Su Xiao looked around but didn’t feel any obvious change; enhancing Goddess’s affection was entirely different from enhancing Release of Breath.

The Skill Upgrading Warehouse ceased operation after five minutes.

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.2. Continue enhancing this ability?]

...

”That’s it?”

Su Xiao raised both his hands, examining the changes in his body. There was no apparent change, or perhaps the changes were too minor for him to detect.

Su Xiao chose to enhance continuously, and the Skill Upgrading Warehouse resumed operation.

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.3.]

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.4.]

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.5.]

...

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.10. Not enough Paradise coins to continue enhancing.]

The Paradise coins drained away like flowing water, and the enhancement stopped after reaching only 9,920 points remaining. Su Xiao checked the Goddess’s affection ability.

[Goddess’s affection: LV.10 (passive skill)]

Skill Effect: Luck Attribute permanently +2 (increase of 1 point).

Tip: This ability grants an additional 1-point Luck Attribute increase for every 10-level enhancement.

...

Enhancing the Goddess’s affection was akin to buying a 1-point Luck Attribute for 200,000 Paradise coins; it was neither a loss nor a gain. From the current perspective, it seemed like a loss, but in the long run, it was worthwhile.

As long as luck is on your side when opening a Legendary treasure box, enhancing Goddess’s affection to Lv.10 isn’t justifiable. Even enhancing it to Lv.30 could be compensated by the extra gains from just a few treasure boxes, and afterwards, the profit would begin.

Su Xiao had to consider the long term, as he was fundamentally developing the Four Attributes, which required massive resources. Sometimes, obtaining resources not only required strength but also a certain level of luck.

With almost no Paradise coins left, Su Xiao did not leave the Skill Upgrading Warehouse but instead contacted Bubu Wang and opened the Adventure Team Storage Space.

He retrieved a Paradise Coin Savings Card with a face value of 500,000 from the Adventure Team Storage Space. The card disappeared from Su Xiao’s hand, and the Skill Scrolls were selling well, yielding over 500,000 Paradise coins in the first batch.

[You have received 500,000 Paradise coins.]

With a supply of Paradise coins, Su Xiao continued to enhance the Goddess’s affection ability.

[To enhance ’Goddess’s affection Lv.10,’ 30,000 Paradise coins are required. Pay now?]

Despite the higher price, Su Xiao opted to enhance. One hour later...

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.20.]

Another 10-level enhancement; upon checking the cost again, it was now 40,000 Paradise coins per level.

Half an hour later...

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.25. Not enough Paradise coins to continue enhancing.]

Undeniably, the cost of enhancing Goddess’s affection was substantial. Fortunately, Bubu Wang sent over a second Paradise Coin Savings Card.

[You have received 650,000 Paradise coins.]

Su Xiao gritted his teeth and continued enhancing the Goddess’s affection ability.

[Goddess’s affection has been upgraded to Lv.30. Continue enhancing?]

With the Goddess’s affection ability at Lv.30, Su Xiao’s Paradise coins dwindled to 459,920 points, while enhancing the Lv.30 Goddess’s affection required 50,000 Paradise coins per level.

Thus, Su Xiao had to weigh whether to continue enhancing. If he chose to enhance, he had to enhance by 10 levels in one go, or else it would be a waste.

Enhancing the Goddess’s affection to Lv.40 would increase the Luck Attribute by 5 points. Combined with the European King’s State...

Su Xiao hesitated. His previous Luck Attribute was 2 points, and now it had reached 6 points. Adding the European King’s State, his Luck Attribute reached an unprecedented 10 points.

This level of Luck Attribute, when paired with certain abilities, could even be used in combat. Su Xiao had fought against such foes before, and they were invariably tricky opponents.

Of course, Su Xiao was quite aware of his own luck score. High Luck Attributes were useful for opening treasure chests, but for combat, it was unpredictable and extremely bothersome.

Ultimately, upon making this decision, Su Xiao turned and walked out of the Skill Upgrading Warehouse; he had other abilities to enhance. Sword Technique, Legendary Gems, and new Alchemy Formulas were all substantial expenses in Paradise coins.

Enhancing abilities required a balance. Focusing solely on enhancing a single ability might look promising in the short term, but it wouldn’t take more than two worlds for various drawbacks to emerge. This was a mistake only new Contractors would make.

[Goddess’s affection: LV.30 (passive skill)]

Skill Effect: Luck Attribute permanently +4 (increase of 2 points).

Tip: This ability grants an additional 1-point Luck Attribute increase for every 10-level enhancement.

...

It was noteworthy that while the cost of enhancing Goddess’s affection was high, Su Xiao finally had an ability that stably increased the Luck Attribute. Undeniably, the Luck Attribute is the hardest attribute to increase, unmatched by any other. Even True Attribute Points cannot enhance Luck Attributes.

Su Xiao returned laden with money to the exclusive room. With Bubu Wang, A Mu, and Bennie at the trading market, the exclusive room seemed a bit cold and empty. When the three of them were in the exclusive room, it was always lively.

Su Xiao sat cross-legged on the bed. He retrieved 20 Soul Crystals (Large) from the Storage Space, the culmination of unknown efforts over an extended period.

After waiting a moment, Bubu Wang placed another 100,000 Paradise coin savings card into the Adventure Team Storage Space. With everything ready, Su Xiao chose to enhance Sword Technique Master to Lv.48.

[Enhance Sword Technique Master to Lv.48? To enhance this skill, 250,000 Paradise coins + Soul Crystals (Large) × 10 are required.]

Of course, Su Xiao intended to enhance by two levels, as reaching Lv.50 in Sword Technique Master would force him to make a choice.

Soul Crystals crushed in Su Xiao’s hand one after another, his vision blurred, and he was swept into a spatial vortex.
