Chapter 1484: Chapter 7: The Powerful Improved Version

Ukitake Retsu accepted the material list, as the captain of the Fourth Division (Medical Team), upon seeing the notes beside various materials, she immediately distinguished the authenticity of this formula.

The purpose of Ukitake Retsu’s presence here has three points: to judge Su Xiao’s intentions, to ascertain Su Xiao’s abilities, and upon confirming the first two points, she is responsible for negotiating with Su Xiao.

For a researcher like Su Xiao, if truly incorporated into the Jingling Court, he should be under the jurisdiction of the Twelfth Division (Tech Development Team) managed by Ukitake Jushiro, but since Su Xiao produces potions, having Ukitake Retsu oversee this is not a problem.

Or rather, once Ukitake Retsu confirms Su Xiao’s abilities, she’s here to ’snatch people’, the Guard Court Thirteen Teams may seem like a whole but in fact, each squad is responsible for different functions.

The Second Division is the Punitive army, mainly handling internal matters of the Jingling Court, the captain is named Soi Fon, the Third Division is the support team, rarely going out to execute orders actively, the Fourth and Fifth Divisions are the Medical Team and the Rescue Team, often working together.

It is worth mentioning that Sosuke Aizen is the captain of the Fifth Division (Rescue Team), he’s very well-regarded in the Jingling Court since the Soul Reapers are always rescued by the Fifth Division when in danger.

Don’t assume the Rescue Team is weak, it’s a very strong squad, as for the Sixth to Tenth Divisions, they are responsible for the interior of Jingling Court, respectively as follows: Team exclusive to nobles, Inner Court Guard Squad, Intelligence Team, Prison Team, Patrol Security Team.

As for the Eleventh Division, it’s quite interesting, or rather, it’s filled with brutes, since its inception, eight captains have died, the current captain being the eleventh Kenpachi, Zaraki Kenpachi.

There’s a saying in Jingling Court: to become the captain of the Eleventh Division, one must at least become the current Kenpachi, otherwise, they can’t command respect. As for the Eleventh Division’s function, no need to guess, it’s a combat-specialized squad, with the highest mortality rate among all squads.

The title of Kenpachi isn’t something one can achieve casually, every generation of Kenpachi is essentially the strongest captain within the Thirteen Teams, apart from the overall commander.

Interestingly, Ukitake Retsu, the gentle big sister, was the first Kenpachi!

So, Ukitake Retsu is definitely not someone to mess with, her combat strength ranks among the top few among captains, nowadays, there’s a sense that she’s put down her blade and turned to save lives.

”Just these materials?”

Ukitake Retsu folded up the list in her hand, put it into her sleeve, then looked at Su Xiao with a smiling face, Su Xiao had a similar smile on his face.

The two of them exchanged smiles, by common sense, the atmosphere in the room should have been quite positive, however, Matsumoto Rangiku sitting on the side felt very uneasy, extremely uneasy.

Cold sweat trickled down Matsumoto Rangiku’s cheek, although the other two were smiling, she always had a feeling that the two of them might explode at any moment, turning into a brawl in the next instant.

”Just need these.”

Su Xiao continued to look at Ukitake Retsu, he sensed a strong blood energy from this woman, a kind that can’t be obtained by killing only hundreds or thousands of people.

”If that’s the case, I’ll go prepare first, and then wait for your good news. If you have any difficulties, you can come find me at the Fourth Division’s base.”

Ukitake Retsu stood up.

”Ranju, your face looks a bit off, do you want to come to the Fourth Division for a checkup?”

”Uh... no, thank you, Captain Ukitake.”

Matsumoto Rangiku had a sentence she didn’t say, which was that her face was so unsightly precisely because of the eerie feeling that you two might start fighting at any moment.

Ukitake Retsu and Matsumoto Rangiku left, Su Xiao rubbed his forehead lightly, Ukitake Retsu is extremely difficult to deal with, he has to try to have minimal contact with her, but if guessed correctly, he’ll eventually be placed into either the Fourth or Twelfth Division.

Compared to the mad scientist in the Twelfth Division, Su Xiao feels Ukitake Retsu is more thorny. However, things have progressed quite smoothly so far, at least he’s already entered Jingling Court and has a chance to climb up.

After much thinking, Su Xiao realized that aside from the potential danger when interacting with Ukitake Retsu, joining the Fourth Division is actually a great choice, firstly, the Fourth Division is the Medical Team, which is convenient for him to hide his combat strength, he is a researcher + medical personnel, those Soul Reapers have thick skins but won’t send him to fight.

Given the current situation, Su Xiao isn’t very interested in fighting Hollows, instead, killing Soul Reapers is more rewarding, with Zanpakutō + Biological Energy + Treasure chest + World Source, it’s a one-move multiple gain.

The efficiency of finding Soul Reapers in the world or Hollows Street was too low, so Su Xiao directly entered Jingling Court where there are the most Soul Reapers, allowing him to choose his targets.

Thinking of this, Su Xiao shook his head, he is now a kind and laid-back researcher, those matters should be pondered upon later.

After Ukitake Retsu left, Su Xiao received a lot of prompts.

[The Hunter has joined Jingling Court (Soul Reaper faction).]

[You have become a temporary member of the Fourth Division.]

[Camp reputation pending activation, if the Hunter becomes a formal member of the Fourth Division, Jingling Court reputation will be activated, the Hunter can use Jingling Court reputation to exchange items at the Sixth Division (Team exclusive to nobles).]

...

The Sixth Division can be considered the most special among the thirteen squads, nominally a ’Team exclusive to nobles’, they actually control resources, finances, etc., all expenditures in the Jingling Court are controlled by the Sixth Division, whose captain is named Kuchiki Bai Zai.

Kuchiki Bai Zai normally doesn’t speak much, but no one wants to provoke him, not just because of his noble status, but this guy is also in charge of the money, whoever provokes him is out of luck, even the morose Momo Hinamori doesn’t want to mess with him.

Provoking Kuchiki Bai Zai and Momo Hinamori’s research team will face funding issues. It’s known that the Twelfth Division (Research Corps) has long been in a deficit, without the Sixth Division’s support, they might not make ends meet, let alone conduct research.

The efficiency of the Fourth Division is quite good, less than two hours later, a Soul Reaper brought a large amount of materials and equipment, the equipment is relatively simple, mostly essentials for potion brewing.

Five hours later, the first batch of materials was complete, after obtaining these materials, Su Xiao obviously couldn’t immediately produce the Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Spiritual Version), he now needs to confirm the properties of these materials.

By the early morning of the next day, after a sleepless night, Su Xiao finally prepared everything, all the materials have been processed, and the semi-solid spiritual particle has condensed into the size of a dragon’s eye.

The brewing began, and the process wasn’t as smooth as imagined, after failing more than fifty times, Su Xiao finally brewed a potion he was satisfied with.

Su Xiao shook the test tube in his hand, inside was a light green liquid, looking warm and filled with vitality, one could vaguely see white light spots flickering inside the solution.

[”Ancient Secret Medicine (Improved Version)”]
