Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

The map Akka currently held was a complete map of the Sea of Moisture, though only the Land of Spirits section was detailed. It was an older version, but he had seen general information about the area on it before, so it was sufficient for his needs. He turned to the next sheet.

This sheet was the detailed map of the Land of Spirits. Since it was a complete area map, the points of light were clearly marked on it.

Alka stared at this map with a frown, just kept staring. He currently had his treasure-seeking vision active, but the points of light on the map showed no change. He stared so intently because he had a persistent feeling that something was strange about this map. He hadn’t felt this way before.

So what exactly went wrong?

Having reached the Fourth Stage, such illusions and strange feelings could not be casually ignored. This might be a premonition brought by his Spirituality or his highly-strengthened Dream Realm; ignoring it could be fatally dangerous. Therefore, Alka had to find the source of this feeling, whatever it was. The pervasive discomfort, like being separated from something by a thin film, made Alka frown deeply.

”You seem agitated,” Lucilia said, sitting beside Alka with her head resting on his thigh as she read her book. ”If there’s a problem, you can talk about it. Even if you don’t want to, it’s best to calm down. Agitation doesn’t solve anything.”

Alka took a deep breath and nodded, though the feeling of irritation still lingered. Now calmer, Alka began to trace the origin of this sensation. Slowly, his eyes lost focus as his entire concentration shifted elsewhere.

Yes, yes, that feeling is finally about to surge out. It felt like a membrane, a sensation of pressure about to burst, a desire for release. Just a little more.

Alka took another deep breath, steadied his emotions, and began to channel this peculiar sensation. He delved deeper, into the very recesses of his soul. Or rather... it is my soul itself.

When he opened his eyes, Alka took a deep breath, exhaled heavily, and turned his gaze back to the map in his hand.

A small red cross-like mark had appeared on the map. A type of mark he had never seen before, one Alka himself had just imagined, had actually appeared on the map.

Seeing this mark, Alka frowned. The mark then changed from a red cross to a red circle, distinct from the glowing points. As Alka willed it, the mark changed again, becoming a cross within the red circle. Finally, it returned to its original form: a small red cross.

So it’s not some system interface, but something even more subtle.

This red cross represented none other than the target Alka and the others had been searching for earlier: that cult member from the Nafasi Clan.

Why can this person be marked?

This ability to mark something stemmed from a new skill Alka had mastered after his power increased. The Fourth Stage seemed to be a significant threshold in terms of overall power. For instance, those at the Fourth Stage are also known as Staff Holders. The reason was clear: only at this stage did one possess the ability to wield Treasures of the Scepter level. This was similar to how one could only use Treasures of the Crown level upon reaching the Sixth Stage, hence why they were called Crowned Ones. Likewise, it was only upon reaching the Fourth Stage that one seemed capable of perfectly mastering Treasures of the Holy Grail level. The increase in power at the Fourth Stage was immense, stemming from various aspects of their development.

If I can mark this person... then what about the Puppet Girl and the others left behind? Alka mused, looking at the map.

Sure enough, several small stick-figure icons appeared on the map. These stick-figure icons were overlapping, resembling a tangled mess. Alka quickly adjusted the icon display, changing them into small green dots. The small green dots remained stationary at their previous campsite.

Alright then.

This is getting interesting.

Soon after, the map also showed the current locations of Chadite and the others, including Alka himself. They appeared as blue triangular marks, clustered together, moving at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye.

Looking at this map, Alka pondered. What about Jilenna?

He began to test if individuals he was less familiar with could also be marked. A green triangular mark appeared on the map, located on the island within the Land of Fragrance.

The Flower... no, better not. Alka had initially wondered if he could mark the Flower Fairy, but on second thought, he decided against it. After all, she was a Divine being; it was best not to be too audacious. The necessary respect was essential.

Alka was primarily experimenting to determine what criteria allowed someone to be marked on his map. Various marks then began to appear on the map—triangles, pentagrams, every shape he could think of. It was all part of his experimentation.

Through this experimentation, Alka eventually deduced a general standard. Whether he could mark someone on the map depended on his degree of familiarity with them. He needed to possess information about them up to a certain level to mark them. If he only knew some details, falling short by even the slightest margin, it wouldn’t work.

Based on their current understanding of this Nafasi Clan cult member, they logically shouldn’t have enough information to mark him. They didn’t meet that standard. The information they possessed about this Nafasi Clan member was basic: only a rather vague description of his appearance and his name.
