Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Alka and the others were resting in the Flower Forest, waiting for Jason and the others to return.

They didn’t have to wait long.

Jason and the other two soon walked in from the entrance.

”How did it go?”

Hearing Alka’s question, Jason smiled and nodded. ”Just like you guessed—he wants us to stay on the island for a few more days.”

With that, the three found their own seats in the room and sat down.

Chadite asked, ”What kind of terms did they offer?”

”We don’t need to do anything in particular, just stay in the city during the Bloom Festival, have a look around, and sightsee.

If nothing happens, they’ll pay us 500 Golden Sail. If anything does go wrong, then they’ll need our help.

And we’ll get additional compensation depending on the help we provide.”

Everyone nodded when they heard the terms.

Very reasonable price.

You could even say it’s quite generous.

”Alright. Since we’ve accepted the commission, we’ll stay here for a few more days. Might as well enjoy the grand festival while we’re at it.”

Alka stood up and said.

Everyone nodded.

But Jason took out a map at this moment.

”This is the city map they gave us.”

Alka took it, glanced at it, and blinked—there wasn’t a single white dot on the entire map.

Not because the map was subpar, but because the place actually was that clean.

He spread the map across the table for everyone to look at, mainly to check the city’s terrain.

And to see some major facilities, the patrol routes of soldiers, and the defensive arrangement.

”Giving us this map—it seems they trust us a lot.” Simon looked at the map and said.

Hearing this, Jason glanced at him, then tapped Alka’s forehead.

Only then did Simon snap his fingers in realization—he’d actually forgotten about that.

After all, the Flower Fairy had personally given her blessing.

If they don’t trust him, who would they trust?

Not trusting Alka means not trusting the Flower Fairy; for these believers, that’s out of the question.

”Did you ask about any specific details?” Alka turned and asked Jason.

Jason nodded. ”She told us a lot of confidential information.”

After he finished speaking, Jason leaned against the table and started pointing at the map to explain to everyone.

”This city’s permanent population should be about 120,000. Because of the festival, there are now around 160,000 here. That’s a rough estimate.

The soldiers called back to duty total 500, all Second Stage. There’s fewer than ten Third Stage soldiers, divided between several Centurions and Squad Leaders.”

The island is actually quite large, and because of the vine connections it feels even bigger.

Housing more than a hundred thousand people is more than sufficient, it feels very spacious.

But there really are too few soldiers.

They heard Jason continue, ”As for the island’s strong fighters, among the five Flower Knights, four are Tier Three. The strongest, Jilenna, is at Fourth Stage.

When the festival opens, the Great Gardener and some Priests from the Church will conduct the ceremony here.

The Great Gardener is at Seventh Stage, and the Priests nearby are two at Fourth Stage. That’s all the known combat strength currently on the island.”

Hearing this, Chadite was a little confused.

”With the Great Gardener’s power alone, sitting here would be enough to intimidate anyone. Why would they still need our help?”

It was a valid question—a Seventh Stage Great Gardener, after all.

It could be said he’s the protector of this place, protecting the land of the myriad spirits.

”That’s exactly the problem. At the most critical moment of the Bloom Festival, the Great Gardener will be inside the giant Celestial Flower hosting the ceremony. Not only him, even the two Priests beside him can’t act as combatants.

This ceremony is extremely important; it’s tied to the revival of the Flower Fairy.”

After hearing this, everyone instantly understood.

The most dangerous time would be when the ceremony begins. Their main purpose in staying was to prevent disruption by enemies at that moment.

”To think they’d even tell us this—that means they believe the enemy is likely to know this secret information too?”

Jason nodded. ”You have to remember, it happens every year, and it’s been so many years. Attacks during Bloom Festival have become very common in recent times.”

Which meant the enemy had already figured it out long ago.

Alka thought for a moment and asked, ”How long will the ceremony take?”

”Supposedly about two hours.”

After everyone understood the basic situation—

Alka said directly, ”Since we’ve accepted the commission, we have to do our best.”

”This here is the Celestial Flower. Here is where they set up the altar before, and the space between the two is less than a kilometer.

The altar area is very dangerous, since that’s where the most people will be gathered—it’ll be easy for chaos to break out.”

”So if the enemy really intends to cause trouble, what’s their goal?” Matilda asked, still confused.

If they really wanted to disrupt the ceremony, that’s just not possible.

Because the one presiding over the ceremony is a Seventh Stage.

They didn’t know exactly how powerful a Seventh Stage being is, but some of them had seen one before.

That was Lucilia, who was once still alive.

Their clan leader was also a Seventh Stage powerhouse.

Put simply, such a person could ensure that a faction flourished and never declined for generations.

Which means they’d be highly ranked even throughout the Endless Sea.
